VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"Card?" Thoruk asks, not even looking at Ha'zi. "I don't know where he is either, sorry lad." he says slowly walking on with the convoy.

Without even acknowledging Cardiloc's comment, the boy fell and the earth came rushing up to meet him.

---------

As the men continued to move onwards there was a CRACK.

Suddenly one of the bushes parted open as something tiny white and sleek broke through the vegetation.

“Ha’zi!!!” Card screamed, he willed himself to somehow dive after the boy, and transform. He didn’t have much power in him so he decided to transform into something small.

Unfortunately for Cardiloc, it wasn't Ha'zi who fell but Cardiloc himself. Mayhaps Cardiloc should pay attention. Oh and since Cardiloc refused to italicize, he hit the ground with such force that his ankles both cracked and his legs failed him.

Meanwhile, Ha'zi, who by was not a 'boy' but instead a twenty-eight-year-old grown-ass man landed with a roll and stood upright turning around to see broken-legged Card with his face in the dirt and his ass sticking out in the air like a dog about to get fucked.

"Rough landing, eh?"

As the noise ended and something small jumped out Thoruk looked at it, just roughly, but enaugh to make himself a picture of what it could be. "By Durin, we feared this thing?" he asks no one in particular, pointing at it with his axe.

It was a rabbit. It saw the dozens of men with torches and blades and instantly took off in the opposite direction.

Ramdir breathed a sigh of relief, Galador lowered his spear and someone let loose a laugh.

"A'right, keep 'em movin'." A shout came from ahead to the rest of them. Their contingent at the rear was slowing the group down and needed to hurry if they wanted to catch up.

Cardiloc tripped in trying to stand. His feet were badly twisted and the pain flared in his legs.

"Nibba, stfu. I just saved your ass from the worms. If I left you back there you'd be digested. Your bones will heal. Mine won't. Learn to protect your body more." Ha'zi said, walking over and offering his hand to Cardiloc.

“Well we wouldn’t have even got into that mess if Cap wasn’t such a whiny bitch about italics you hadn’t brought me here...” Card angrily replied.

"Hm..." Thoruk grumbles as he takes a closer look at the rabbit. "Seems like an ordinary rabbit" he mumbles before pulling his axe back. "Let's get movin lads, shall we?" he says, turning around to the men behind him. He lays his axe onto his shoulder and moves on. "I won't put my guard down either way, whatever gave out that howl back then... it surely wasn't the rabbit.." he thinks, walking on the path, at one side torchfire, at the other side nothing more than darkness and silence.

"You would not be here if you had given me the stone you stubborn bastard. Now give it to me." Ha'zi clenched his fist and Cardiloc felt his body immobilize. His clothes began to move and out of his pocket the Silmaril emerged. It flew into Ha'zi's grasp and he quickly pocketed the gem.

"Now get up. We have to move otherwise it'll return." Ha'zi once more offered his hand to the Dunlending.

------------

Thoruk noticed that the Maia was no longer with them. Perhaps up front with the elves. Similarly, Glorfindel was missing. Where was Marco and Cardiloc again? And Daugo? Was he with Celeborn?

"With my superior combat skills and rapier sharp wit." Sigeric replied to Hering in a deadpan tone. The rabbit running from the bushes caught his attention. He still felt uneasy. There had to be something or someone else out there. Sigeric used his telepathy, attempting to detect the thoughts and relative positions of anyone lurking in the darkness. The Dalishman was already drained from the day's ordeals, and knew that he should not strain himself any more, but he had to know.

Ha'zi stared with playful interest as the little creature appeared and then disappeared just as quickly. If only he was able to run away from such danger himself. He sighed, and continued on his way with the party, still aware that another danger, perhaps even worse than the one he was stuck with, was probably near.

As the convoy walked on after this small incident Thoruk comes to think. "Although it was a rabbit, that Maia should know what could've made such a howl back then, I'm still certain that something might come, but thinking of him, where is he? Wasn't he next to us just a minute ago?" he thinks as he looks forward and then backward. Nothing, no Eonwe anywhere. "X'cuse me lad" he says, looking at one of the guys, hidden in a black cloak, a mystical look, yet nothing special to a dwarf. "Have you seen that Maia guy, Eonwe? I'd need to ask him something of importance" he says.

"What?" Ramdir asked Thoruk. "Mayo? Who's that?"

Ha'zi felt the wind shift a bit. He smelt something shitty in the air coming from the front of the convoy.

Sigeric's mind picked up a number of thoughts before drowning them out. They were all the usual. Complaints, convictions, some confessions, one man just pissed himself unironically, something to do with a job, whatnot until they all disappeared. He felt something. A presence. Someone. No. Something. It was there. Somewhere out there in the darkness. He felt overwhelming dread. It made Sigeric choke. Something. Something terrible. It was the worst feeling he had ever come into realization. His breath stopped. His heart accelerated. Blood began to run from his nose and he tasted iron on his tongue. What was happening to him? Was he tired? What was that thing? It was...he felt it....it was...what was it doing.....

"Sigeric..."

The voice was like chalk on a blackboard. Each letter a serrated weapon that cut through his mind and soul. He could feel the fabric of his soul shred at the mere sound of it. It came...where did it come from....it came from....inside...

No one else felt the presence. No one else heard the voice. Suddenly Sigeric doubled over and collapsed with his mouth wide-open and eyes a shade of white.

Inside his mind a horrifying set of images ran through Sigeric like electricity. He saw fire, lakes of lava, Mt. Doom, his death by Morgoth, then Morgoth dead, then a colossal black mass, some sort of winged beast larger than the Lonely Mountain, Daugo on fire, mountains of fire, ash, dust, the world at war, someone on a chariot, a soldier, Iver's corpse in his arms, a flying ship, the Silmarils, the one who killed Grimnir, a shadow, the man from his dreams, then the Trickster and Morgoth together, the Warrior and the Savage Giants fighting across a ruined city, an army of elves in gold that spanned over the world like a sea, then a darkness, the feeling spiked in him, a black figure, the world, what could only be Manwe and some other Vala consumed by the shadow, then bodies, billions of bodies, time passing, skeletons, the shadow, more skeletons, and it all went to black. Blood dripped in the void.

"It is coming, Sigeric. Prepare."

He spasmed back into existence with a jolt of energy and he was back from the brink of doom. Ha'zi, Dimitri, Hering and Thoruk had all watched Sigeric drop.

Thoruk, not very satisfied by the rather dumb answer of the black cloak ranger, still on his guard, puts off his helmet. Not even a prink of a moment later he turns his head, hesitation, Sigeric suddenly falling down and blood running out of his nose. Thoruk quickly runs towards him. "Lad, what happend, ya okey mate?" he asks his friend, lending him a free hand to help him up.

"Huh? a bunny?" Iver said as the creature ran in and out of sight, before returning his look to the empty looking cloacked man. "Hey, are you deaf or just stupid?" He asked him after he didnt respond for quite a while and walked closer to him, "anybody home?" he asked him, they dragged back too much and needed to speed up.

Arandil after sheathing his sword then got on the horse this time. Fearing that there was something more than a rabbit in these woods. He was prepared if need be to ride this injured man all the way to damn Osgiliath to save him , and himself. He went next to Magath and as the man was still taking the injured kneecap bent man on his shoulders Arandil said.
"Put him on the horse it's better for both of you. And captain, there's something I want to ask again, if you do not mind. All those men, all those once living beings, their bodies, either in pieces or a burnt up charred body, still deserve a proper burial. But that seems all too hard to accomplish now. How will we honor their sacrifice for joining this hellish and dangerous mission? Will their families be left without anything to remember them by? Nothing to place the beautiful flowers of the plains and forests of Lossarnach on?"

The Dunlending grumbled as the Haradrim snatched away his gem, surely the man had planned it, dropping him like this so he could snatch away his precious Silmaril. Of course he was saying it was for the greater good, but Card had his doubts. "Thanks..." Card grimaced as he took the 28 year old Ha'zi's hand.

"Here let me help you with them" Iver said and took marco, the man was probably to tired to talk from carrying Daugo and Marco.
