VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

The clouds parted as a hybridized giant plummeted down, crashing beneath the waves and diving deep into the depths. Deep. Deep. Deep....

Down there he found a ridge that spread across the ocean floor, rising bubbles of magma indicated underwater volcanic activity and Cardiloc felt a strange feeling drawing him down there...deep within the ridge itself. It had to be there!

The archer lowered his bow slightly.

"Excuse me but who is this?" Ostopher asked wildly expecting one of his lieutenants to answer since both seemed keen on keeping secrets.

"He's me boy!" Thrak Ironbeard proclaimed, stepping out into the clearing. The archer raised his bow at the newcomer in surprise. "The Chosen Warrior of our very own peoples! A gift by Mahal! A true son of Durin!" His father stood by him, axe swaying lightly by his side.

The kraken swam towards the ridge, he had seen one of those volcanoes on his travels with Ha’zi, and had first hand experience with them considering he had been flung off a cliff over one of them to activate his powers of jumping, but never had he seen one underwater. Only heard tale of them from the older man. Perhaps he should’ve clothed his kraken in the scales of a fire drake.

"His name is Thoruk, and I am not the only one who knows him from the people here. Perhaps you should take a deep breath and relax, all this information that has hit you all of a sudden must have made you quite paranoid."

"Interesting character. You think he'd freak out if I told him I got Aule's blessings and saved him from death?" Dimitri asked Teli. The Dwarf's fervor about his deity would make him fit right in with those Dunlending pretenders. Curse them all.

"Father..." he'd say with a slight look of confusion "I am not better than any other of our folk and you know that." he'd answer before turning towards Arandil and Ostopher.

"Thoruk Ironbeard, to be precise." he'd add to Arandil's words.

"And if you" he'd point at the ranger aiming at his father "dare to shoot my father, you'll lose your head." he'd say in a serious tone. "Ally or not, no one threatens my family." he'd say towards them and turn towards their, what seemed to be general of some sorts.

"I am one of those who spoke with your king and this totally crazy elf that smashed my friends nose back in minas tirith." he'd say towards Ostopher.

"And for now, the only thing I am interested in, is a little talk with Ha'zi." Thoruk would say, approaching him in a friendly manner.

"You've grown quite big ma friend." he'd say, looking at the haradrim boy.

"Thoruk?" said Daugo increduously, a rare sincere smile flashing across his face. "What're you... I didn't think I would see you again," he added, but his voice trailed off as he noticed the Dwarf's minimal interest in him. His expression became neutral once again, but he wanted to find out more, so he insisted on making his presence felt.

"Good. Now we can focus on the task at hand. You feel the fear, don't you, child? The horror that drenches these walls? Terrible things happened here, unspeakable acts of cruelty, but nothing surpassed the dread inspired by the former lords of this place. Bask in the fright of the Nine. Let their presence fill your being. Will them into existence; your power is strong here, strong enough to summon them effortlessly," the eagle spoke, flying in and out of wafts of sickly mist.

Mirecyla looked at the eagle as she climbed, finally reaching the top of he tower, she would break open the nape once more, exiting her giant and climbing on top of it. There she would look over the the castle, breathing in she would open her arms out wide and yell out “Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, nine for Mortal Men, doomed to die, one for the Dark Lord on his dark throne. In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them. In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. Once more shall the kings of old live on! The dreaded fathers of terror and spite, the cursed kings, the Nazgul... Arise my kin! Brothers in fear!”

Mirecyla would finish her speech as she sends out tendrils of fear to hook around and suck in the fear bringing the Nazgul alongside their fell-beasts back to life, but not only would she go to bring them back but she would also go to increase their power. She’d go to create them with a will of their own but deep down, deep down so hidden inside their brain she left the smallest sliver of herself. So that when the time comes, they will be able to follow whomever commanded them, but in the end they were loyal to her and her alone

"Daugo?" he'd ask, catching a familiar face as someone called out his name. "Aye lad, long time not seen. What in Durins name are y'all doing here? Is the rest here aswell?" he'd ask the hobbit before continuing to ask Ha'zi a favor.

The ridge span out beneath the kraken, a wide gap revealing a crack at its core. A fissure allowed bubbles of hot gas and magma to come seeping out of it which popped and sizzled upon contact with the saltwater. However, before Cardiloc could venture deeper movements out of the corner of his eye made him take stock of himself.

A number of sea creatures from large fish to gargantuan serpents swam in the distance. They did not appear to bother him with the exception of one rather obtuse aquatic horror. It swam towards him, some large eel with a variety of colorful fins but stopped as it came closer. It slowly turned and swam away...

------------------------

The archer lowered his bow at the threats and seeming confirmation of identity.

"I see...another giant," Ostopher remarked. He looked at Ha'zi, "You and I have a lot of catching up to do. Speak to the fellow then we are getting out of this wretched forest." He stepped back to allow the dwarf and the Haradrim to converse.

Thrak stared at the Gondorian with some spite in his eyes but watched the conversation closely, keeping his axe ready in case anything unfortunate were to unfold.

"Your friend?" The Son of Tulkas asked. His voice was intended as a whisper but of course, was louder than nearly everyone's there. Thoruk and Arandil noticed the hulking figure and for a second both had a strange flashback to Ithilien...and someone else who stood at such a height...

That voice...could it be...the Iron Hunter...?

“What the-.” Cardiloc thought to himself as this creature swam towards him, luckily it soon left him. But... why? Cardiloc quickly swam towards the fissure, so close.

"Aye, allow me to present Thoruk of the Khazad. He's a brave warrior and has been with us for this entire journey. And I'm guessing that proud-looking Dwarf is his brother or his father. Looks like royalty." Dimitri said equally loud. "And just a warning, he might not like you because you attacked us in Ithilien. Probably doesn't know how you actively fought against both Manwe and Morgoth, fought both their minions, and helped me save and get blessed by Aule." He put a bit of emphasis on that last part.

''That voice.. that voice....'' He stood there pondering if it was that hulking shadow of death. ''Could it be?''. He gazed at the giant man in shock and awe.

The fissure burst a bubble that passed Cardiloc's Kraken, nearly burning its scaly skin. There. Somewhere in that fissure, he saw a crystalline shining. It had to be it...

-----------------------------

"Hrm." Telimekhtar grunted in acknowledgement at Dimitri's comments, omitting the aspect of him losing against both.

Even the grunt sounded like the Iron Hunter, Arandil came to realize. And what had the Dwarf Shifter said? He attacked them in Ithilien?

"Thoruk... THORUK!" Ha'zi, not caring about Ostopher, the dread and madness he had witnessed, and the drama of times long past, dashed towards his friend with the largest of grins, running up to hug him- which was endlessly awkward as he shifted down a bit last second to accomadate for the height difference. "You're... You're back! I... dude, what are you doing here?!"

"Aye, thank ye..." he'd turn his head in response to hearing a voice he felt like he had heard it somewhere before and looked into a mountain of a man, standing next to... Dimitri?

"Ain't that the... you there, fellow" Thoruk would say looking at the Iron Hunter.
"Since you're with Dim I guess ye ain't attacking us this time, still we also have a lot to disguss." he'd say in disgust towards him. "Atleast this time your little pets won't get killed by my axe with only one blow..." he'd add not as loud, his eyes already pulled away from the Iron Hunter.

"Ha'zi, lad..." Thoruk would say with a bit of a suprise. "It's also good to see ye. Yet, there is no time for big reunions just now, I have a lot to explain and so do you but I need to tell you something of more importance than whatever the whole of you are doing here."

"You know Aranel, don't you? Miriel's sister or however they were related to each other...."

"If Arandil told you, you might think she's dead, and indeed she is, but...." he'd say in a worrying tone.

"She appeared infront of me, grey hair, a old looking face and she was peacefull for once... She gave me one of those shiny gems, the gondorians allmost killed each other for back then, a year ago, to save my father and I have sworn an oath to help her find you. As of to keep this promise I need your guys help, cause now I've lost track of her. She is currently hunting a person... a person even she needs help with." Thoruk would talk to much, even for his own circumstances but he had to tell them quickly. Aranel might even be tracking Beren down in this moment.

Yeah, he said that. Teli did attack them in Ithilien, Celeborn got BTFO'd by Chad Teli. Anyways, back on subject.

"Also, Teli, next time you gotta tell me something important, tell me it in Forochelrim." Dimitri said in Forochelrim.

And just like that, the young shifter's protective optimism shattered. Aranel. That's who he was for. Not him, not Daugo or Dimitri or Sig... but some dead random; well, some apparently not-so dead acquaintance from the future. Still, infuriating.

Though the impact may have been hard, Ha'zi however quickly tried to catch the pieces, limply clinging on to the cheery mood's remains. "Oh.. Oh, uh, ok. Yeah... um... I heard about her- er, well saw her (sort of), too. What... uh... can I do to help...?" He asked, slowly deflating at the prospect of the get together going away as suddenly as it happened.

"Well, I am sorry to overwhelm you with so many things, but it is important." he'd say nodding towards Ha'zi.

"A boy, named Beren, who is still a small child in our timeline is after her. He almost killed me before she saved me. His power..." he'd mutter with a slight look of fear, reminding himself of the first enemy he had retreated from so easily... "is beyond measure... and that's why she.. or rather I, need your guys help." Thoruk would say, looking at Daugo, at Dimitri, at Ha'zi and even at Arandil.

"He also... had some sort of creature with him, or rather two of some sorts. One of them was immortal, I killed it three times, it withstood everything. First I electrocuted it to death, it's body just repaired itsself in an instant. The second time I killed it, pressing it into mere dust using my wind powers in my giant form. There was literally nothing left of it... and it still ambushed Aranel and me a few minutes later." he'd pause for a bit, giving them a break.

"The third time... i sliced its body into two pieces and yet... it was still able to move both of his body halfs... and that's not even the worst thing... he had another creature with, a mountain of some sorts, a big... well, it reminded me of a realy ugly giant, yet a bit smaller than our giants, it just smashed Aranel around like she was a mere human and she barely survived... and now, now these three are roaming through these woods, replenishing their wounds and I fear that they will attack us, or someone else soon. Aranel is now out there, searching for them, all on her own... I need you guys to help me find her before Beren and the others do before it's to late..." he'd say, ending his explanation, letting it sink into everyone's mind.

"I swore an oath and I'll fullfill it, with or without you..." he'd quietly say towards Ha'zi in addition.

Cardiloc swam towards the crystalline object, did he really waste his time for those jaws? He had assumed by ‘earth’ it was literally underground.
