VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

Dimitri repeats process but aims for head and heart with crossbow

"N-no, please. Not a-again. I don't wanna die..." Tamara whimpers, backing up against the wall a bit. Trying desperately to hide from him.

It didn’t work... Cardiloc panted from exhaustion, his features were doused with sweat. And now, now because of his failure to do anything about it Thoruk would die and Beren would only grow stronger. That was what he truly was, a failure, a clumsy, stupid, dumbass failure. A tear rolled down his cheek; he had failed Ha’zi, his mentor, his friend, his father. One whom was unlike his own gruff father, whom never truly cared for the Dunlending like Ha’zi did. It was his fault, his fault Ha’zi had gotten killed. He should’ve gotten him, Aranel and Laurel out of there when Beren attacked, Ha’zi had sacrificed himself to save Card and the others and for what, he was going to die anyway. He had failed on his mission, he had failed Ha’zi.

No... he could not let his sacrifice be in vain, he remembered his courage. He glared over at Aranel, and knew in his heart of hearts if he did nothing his friend would die, then Endo and then himself. He couldn’t allow that, he would. not. allow. that. He channeled time into the bark keeping his right arm fixed in place, attempting to accelerate its age until it rotted. He’d then try and move his arm down to place his hand into his pouch, retrieving the Silmaril, grasping the shining gem in his hand as he kept his gaze fixated on Aranel, determined to save his friends. A single thought coursed through his mind as opening his hand, releasing its energy onto the unsuspecting Aranel. ”I. Am. Worthy. Ha’zi.” The words stinging in his mind like a promise.

“FUCKING DIE YOU DELUSIONAL BITCH.” He roared out.

He watched and listened in shock and awe. He began to fear for himself, for Dina and his people..."Dina.. Dina what in Eru's name is going on? Why are you here? What was that damned roar. Dina talk to me, answer me. What is too late?"

"What was that? Some strange tongue?" Aranel asked, confused by Thoruk's mutterings. She then waved it off. "Oh, no matter. You're just stalling the inevitable. Now, that won't do, no it won't." Multiple gashes rippled all throughout the dwarf's body, oozing red ink. Cracking and grinding were heard, as Thoruk's bones collided together, drove apart, and fractured, slowly and simply at first, then increasing in intensity over time, going up the small skeleton gradually. All that was left to do was give the neck one last good twis-

"Huh?" She turned to the smaller individual, drifting, miraculously, away from Thoruk, her torture ceasing. "What was that? Past? Family? You, a part of my family? Ha, that's silly! Master Beren is my family. I serve him- I've always served him! What are you whining about then, hm?"

”FUCKING DIE YOU DELUSIONAL BITCH.”

Aranel heard the one on her left say but before she could twist her head around to him, a brilliant blaze blinded her peripheral vision.

-----------

Cardiloc and Thoruk opened their eyes. They were in a place Thoruk recognized. The white sea of light. The Dunlending and Dwarf were fully healed and cleansed. Not even a scratch or bit of dust upon their skin. They were also naked. Thoruk found his limbs had returned and Cardiloc's head no longer hurt. They felt...at peace.

"Do you know what this place is?" They heard a disembodied voice ask to them.

---------------------

"Card?" Endo asked. He turned his head to the left and found his friend missing. "Huh?" He looked right and the Dwarf was gone as well. Then ahead of him he saw scorch marks and a blast radius leading to a pile of crimson-white squash. It took a moment for Endo to realize it was a body. He vomited.

Aranel couldn't hear anything. She was losing her vision as well. She couldn't feel anything below her chest. What had happened...? Her arms...one of them was missing. Blood...so much blood...

"What the fack..." Endo heard someone say. He paused vomiting to see his older version emerge from a bush to the right. He looked at the crumpled remains of Aranel and the crater and began vomiting as well causing the younger Endo to continue coughing up his breakfast. Berethor clapped a hand over his mouth and rushed to the tied-up man and began cutting into the bark with a dagger, trying to free the man. "We saw you guys crash and followed Aranel but we didn't want to expose ourselves but then we heard that noise. Where's Cardiloc? And what did you do to her?" He asked, refusing to even look at what was left of Miriel's sister.

--------------------------

"Miriel...she...she came to destroy Gondor so that it would never be able to hurt us again. We also came to rescue our friends. Arandil, you can't be here. Please come with me. Let's run away from this place. Together." Dina pleaded with him, her body pressing against his as people ran past them to see the noise coming from the festival.

-----------------------

"Tytus was beaten by Miriel in combat and she took the chieftainship. He wanted to have negotiations with them but they tried to kill us and he still did not want to fight. They killed Even and Endo so Miriel fought him and won. She fought so we could rescue you. And now we're all here to get you. Come on, I'll explain everything later but now we have to get down there quickly to save her." Berethor pulled her up, "I'm going to transform and jump. I want you to hop into my hand and hold on, okay." He turned back and walked a dozen paces away then began to pull out a bastard sword attached to his belt. She knew what was coming.

--------------------------

The bolts broke through the armor but refused to penetrate through the skin, some falling off and others sticking in place. Raddis took a step forward, breathing deeply and seemingly growing larger in size. The last bolt hit his forehead, dead center and broke in two.

"I can smell ya feaaar. Ya tryna hurt da demun? NUTHIN' HURTS DA DEMUN!!!" Raddis growled and began charging at Dimitri, his body going into a frenzy, froth and spittle flying everywhere.

Daugo jumped behind a desk and grabbed his belt, pulling out the shark-tooth knife. If worse came to worse he could slit his finger and transform...but that would mean...everyone died but him...except if he could take Dimitri and Tamara into his nape. But even then everyone around them...no that would be a last resort.

The soldier by the door ducked and pulled out his sword yet did not engage as the great black man rushed the Forochelrim and Tamara.

------------------

BRAAKKAAAAAAAAAKKKK.

A massive tendril of biomass shot into the air, piercing the Savage Giant and skewering it above the sky. It was vulnerable!

"Woah!" The ranger on the building beside Sigeric exclaimed. "GET THAT BASTARD!"

At the Guardian's feet, a number of men manned the newly made scorpion and started moving it to target her but it wouldn't be enough.

And there were still civilians rushing out of the vicinity. It was too dangerous for the weapons hot mode. However, Sigeric noticed a number of soldiers a mix of Gondorian garrison, foreign militaries and militia men swarming the spike that impaled the Savage.

CRACK. CRACK.

Sigeric saw her breaking the spike, smashing a crystalized fist into it over and over. The biomass cracking slowly...

It... it was working, Aranel was propelled back by the Silmaril which annihilated her body. Then a great flags of white and everything went black.

[rule]

Cardiloc breathed out, he stared down at his hairy body, great... he was naked. His eyes drifted over at Th- WHAT IN WULFS NAME!!! The dunlending flinched in disgust.

It did not matter though... his thoughts drifted away, he was... at peace. Then the voice interrupted him. “Do you know what this place is?”

Cardiloc glanced around for the source of the voice. “No... am I... are we dead?” He asked hesitantly.

Tamara runs away from the huge charging man, getting out of his way. Dimitri moves in front of the door, but turns himself to incredibly strong stone and reinforces his armor with stronger shit. At the last moment, he would step out of the way.

Ye who are His warriors and of his law,
Pray to Tulkas for help and have faith in Him;
That always with Him you will be victorious

'He can smell fear. Ensure he is wrong. Feel nothing but anger.'

Thoruk gasped and attempted to cry out as she crushed his neck, he could feel his life force fading and then suddenly a blinding white light that forced him to close his eyes. When he opened them he found himself and Card naked back in that white land again, he looked over and smirked “Always knew I was bigger than ya laddeh.” He chuckled before looking around, it was familiar but he didn’t know where he was, he remembered the elf and went to step forward “Alrighteh listen ere’ ya pointy eared bastard, I don’t have have time for ya games.”
—————————————
Sigeric grimaced, he had gotten her but she’d soon escape, he noticed the men surrounding the spike and those loading the scorpion but the civilians were still to close, he could make it over there either, however perhaps he could still trap her. He’s go to merge his halberd into his hand a change it into a crossbow, meanwhile he would go to create more biomass to lock around her arms, legs and neck, if he succeeded he would go to pull backwards to try and make it so she couldn’t break fee
—————————————
Mirecyla nodded and took a few steps backwards, God’s he was so fucking hot, however she would go to turn away to avoid being stunned by the transformation, already she was hyping herself up for the fight while also wondering if any of this was real. If it was then who knew what would happen with Miriel as chieftain

Cardiloc rolled his eyes at the dwarf’s joke, a scowl formed on his face as he started to berate the voice.”Silence Thoruk.” Card told him sternly, placing a hand on the dwarves shoulder.

“Forgive my friend, he has a hasty tongue.” He apologised to the voice. “What is this place?”

"My.. my people.. my kin.. my brothers in arms. My home.." He could not stop the chain of events, all he could do was watch and die. No.. Dina offered him something more something else. A chance to escape and live with her. He would not pass up the chance.

"I will." He said and then proceeded to kiss her. "We shall head south first. To South Ithilien.. I have to see my family again. From there on out.." he grabbed her and placed her on the horse "we head to the lands of Umbar and Near Harad. We'll be safe there, we'll be able to live a life together." He got on the horse ready to gallop away from the chaos and death ensuing around them.

"Are you ready? See I upheld my promise.." he said smiling.

"Hm? Bitch? But I don't see any hounds around here," she said, unaware, turning her crimson head every which way. "What do you me-

BZZZZZZZOOWWWKTTT

Aranel felt it. Burning. All over her at once, then nothing, accompanied by a brilliant blinding light that consumed her. For a second, she was bathed in a dazzling, all-encompassing sea of ivory... then nothing. Blank, cold, darkness gorged her.

...

"Beren! Master! BEREN!" She shrieked over and over. Her vision was frozen in place, fixated up at a bright blue mocking sky. Sound around her was non-existent, so much so that she couldn't even tell if her voice was being projected.

She sobbed pitifully. Aranel was a failure. Beren would kill her- kill her for sure for this. She knew before that he came so close, with her defeat in the woods. Now he would do it for sure.. If she didn't succumb to death before him finding her, that is.

No. She wasn't done. She could still redeem herself to Master. Live another day to be of use for him. There was one option left available. Without tears or reluctance, she summoned a slice across her remaining wrist.

Berethor cut Endo out and helped him down but ducked as he heard an explosion. He turned around and saw it.

"Aranel...?" He whispered as he saw the Monster Giant. It took him a second to realize what needed be done.

"RUN ENDO! RUN!" Berethor cried to his friend farthest from her and shoved the one in his arms in the opposite direction. He turned around to offer himself up as prey to her.

"No! You can't die, Ber! She'll take your power and become like Beren!!!" The older Endo yelled in retort and ran at the hideous owl shouting aloud, "ARANEL! COME AND GET ME!" And then darted off to the monster giant's left. Berethor grit his teeth and dashed away making a beeline in the opposite direction.

-------

"You are dead. You are being judged for your actions." The voice replied to them allowing them to digest that fact.

--------

Whoosh.

Tfffffftttt. The Armoured Giant exhaled steam and crouched beside the White Tree, offering a palm to Mirecy.

---------

Arandil heard rumbling above again.

"I-I-I-" Dina paused torn between her desire to be with him and her family, "I'll come with you but I have to tell my friends. I can't just abandon them. Please let me inform one before we leave." She begged.

-------

Unfortunately, Dimitri's body refused to materialize. Yet he nonetheless managed to turn, resulting in Raddis only barely missing him but the big ape sidestepped with such speed that it made Dimitri questioned if he was truly human. A massive fist came at the Forochelrim swinging for his chest and for a split-second he remembered fighting Osk in Aldamos and how he defeated the larger man.

---------

"She's breaking free!" The ranger known as Meryn cried to Sigeric.

The Savage cracked through the spike but biomass twisted around it, slowly imprisoning it. The halberd had formed into a crossbow in a matter of seconds, a gargantuan bolt primed in its chamber.

"Shoot it down!" The scorpion fired an explosive bolt at the Savage.

Meanwhile, the thousands of people had mostly fled the central grounds of Armen but many were still in the surrounding vicinity. Garrison soldiers evacuating them to the north, east and southern gates of the Rammas Echor which were still quite a distance away.

Thoruk scowled, this wasn’t Durin’s Halls where was he? Most importantly he realized he was dead, his legs buckled as he took this into fact account, shit, that wasn’t good, what was he going to do? “Laddeh judged? What actions are ya talkin about eh? We’ve done everythin for the greater good.” He stayed crossing his arms
—————————————
Mirecyla would walk forward and quickly climb onto Berethors hand, her memory was fuzzy as she thought about everything that happened before this moment, had she finally broken free from Sauron control? Or was that encounter also a dream? She growled and shook her head, matted hair slapping her in the face, she couldn’t think about that yet. Was she still able to create life forms? She would need to test it out at a later date, now all she did was get ready for her to transform “Let’s go fuck shit up guys!” She yelled
—————————————
Sigeric continued to wrap the biomass around her body, creating hooked spikes to rush through her body from the coils or simply attempting to push biomass through and connect it to another coil to crate a spiderweb like pattern. Raising his crossbow arm he would change the bolt to become hooked, a chain being attached to the crossbow’s base, he’d aim and fire towards her body, close to where her heart would be if the giant had one

Cardiloc gasped out... that wasn’t possible, he had just killed Aranel. If he was dead in the blast from the Silmaril, where. was. Endo and even that bitch Aranel. This had to be a trick, a lie. “Whom are you?” He questioned the voice unsure. Where was Mandos?

From her higher, far more flexible vantage point, she surveyed the earth below with predatory glee. There were three people around still- excellent! The smaller, wimpy kid, the taller bearded fellow, and- Wait a second. It wasn't him. Though his height tricked her up for a second... he wasn't even a dwarf! And the other adult... shoot, he was different. He wasn't Card... THEY WEREN'T THERE.

The Monster shrieked, "WHERE ARE CARD AND DWARF?" It beat it's humongous wings, heading up into the air to frantically search. But, already, the futility of the action was made aware: they were gone. Her keys to redemption were gone. Except... Yes! The weakling that blabbed about family was still here. She could still take him out!

A mix of hooting and cackling sounded out from the Monster as it dove after the fleeing Endo, ignoring the two rushing toward itself, although it would try to force roots to entangle the two in place, growing across then up their bodies.

Aranel's attention now focused solely on the remaining prey, weaving in the woods to catch him, twisting trees and vines to capture the twerp. If she were to fall behind or lose him, she paid attention to his signature. Oddly enough, she noticed that the connections to Card-i-loc and the immobile dwarf were simply gone. Strange.... Ah, whatever. They weren't important-
only the obnoxious midget she was after.

Endo couldn't even bother to scream as he heard something chasing behind him. He kept running, ducking between the undergrowth and running for dear life.

She spotted him below her. The boy was trying to get away! How pathetic.

Berethor and the older Endo continued running in opposing directions. At this point, neither expected to survive. The entire situation was fucked from head to toe.

-------------------

"You have no right to ask a single question." The voice said solemnly, absolute. "And as to your claim, I shall be the judge of those actions. Be they righteous or otherwise."

Then Thoruk and Cardiloc saw the entire sea of white glowing until they could see nothing but the light and many images came to them. It was as if they were alive once more, experiencing everything as if they were there.

They witnessed every action from the outset of their lives. From their childhoods up to the moment, Cardiloc grasped ahold of the Silmaril and using the last of his energy, his lifeforce, to cast its power out to slay Aranel. Thoruk's body had disintegrated in the aftermath and so had Cardiloc's. They truly were dead. So...this was the afterlife then?

"You claim your actions were purely for the benefit of others. For 'the greater good'. Why then did you, Thoruk Ironbeard, forsake your allies upon the island when they needed your aid?"

Thoruk saw himself sitting in the sand building a sandcastle whilst everyone including Marco and Sam fought Pyrus.

"And you, Cardiloc son of Cardinoc, you never once attempted to make good on your promises to your sister. You left her to rot whilst you chased after a maiden you desired, convincing yourself that it was for the benefit of Arda. All you sought out was your own ill-willed sexual gratification. Abandoning your mother to her fate as a captive of Manwe and your sister to a life of loneliness. A life that has resulted in this,"

Cardiloc was shown a series of scenes.

"Hello, Ela." Miriel was sitting by a bench outside the Eldrith household.
"Aunty Miriel?! You're back! They told me you were gone!" Ela was returning from the school at this time and ran to Miriel's side. It was the first time Cardiloc had seen her in years.
"I was. But now I'm here. Do you know where Ha'zi and your brother are?"
"Uncle Ha'zi? I-I haven't seen him in months." Ela thought.
"What about Cardiloc? Shouldn't he be around here somewhere?"
"He...he never came back. He left me and went with his friends. I...I've just been here. I don't know when he'll return. Maybe he went to save Mama." The little girl smiled at the thought.

Then he saw Miriel walk her through the gardens, talk with her, spend time with her, and it became apparent that Miriel had spent more time with his sister than even he had. And he watched as she talked to her about life, about the world beyond Gondor and about the many things out there. Ela's curiosity was spiked, she was overjoyed and her wanderlust grew. Miriel and her walked throughout the festival and the redhead treated her to a baby mumakil, one of those things Ha'zi had taught Ela about on their flight to Gondor, then he saw as it all began to unfold.

"Hello, Ha'zi. Take a seat." He could do nothing but watch as his friend, his father-figure, the one he had abandoned was cornered alongside his little sister by Miriel that monster. He watched as Miriel tortured Ha'zi and finally they kissed. For a second, he believed that they could go back. That everything would be fine...that she wouldn't-

"Until my enemies are destroyed."
"Ha'zi!" Ela screamed before Miriel's transformation blast consumed his best friend and his little sister.

Thoruk was there, alongside Cardiloc. Watching hopelessly.

"Had you been there that day. This would not have come to pass."

They saw Miriel step on Aragorn and proceed to kill hundreds of innocents. The only one standing against her was Sigeric...the one man who had always remained behind. Who had chosen to protect his friends above all...even though he was an ambitious cocky bastard he was the only one left...

"Instead of following your friends, instead of protecting your sister, instead you chose a different fate. You, Thoruk, chose to murder two innocent infants in the hopes it would prevent one of them becoming evil. Alongside many other innocents in that village including Yellena who had only been kind to you. Those children...were the children of your friend Ha'zi. Your friend who has perished. How do you believe he would feel if he had survived? To find out his friend, Thoruk, had chosen to murder his own children? To find out Cardiloc abandoned his own sister in order to lust after an alternate version of his daughter? All in the name of 'the greater good'. You may both be delusional but these facts are the solid truth. And no matter how much you deny them, they will always be true."

They then saw another vision. The aftermath of what happened with Aranel. She had transformed and now she proceeded to kill Endo, Berethor and the older Endo all in that succession. The two older ones had come after Cardiloc choosing to protect their friend instead of listening to him. And instead, they lost their lives. All of them. They were all dead. Because of them.

"You are both ultimate failures. You were granted the powers to protect the world and you so callously wasted them. Justifying it for your people or for the world, when in reality, all you ever sought was power and greed. Disgusting. You did not deserve to die so quickly. You should have been tortured for the calamities you have brought upon those you love. Perhaps it would have been better if neither of you were to have been born. Neither could save their families, neither could live up to their false promises, neither could save anyone, not even themselves."

-----------------------------------------

Berethor rushed toward the edge of the citadel carefully and gazed down at the fields below. Miriel was impaled on a spike. She needed their help immediately. He looked at his palm and whispered to himself, "Hang on Mirecy." Then cupped his hands around her and jumped, his back scraping against the stoneface rock of Minas Tirith as the Armoured Giant fell.

----------------------------------

Dina's eyes lit up and she kissed him but before she could take her leave. Arandil heard grinding and an earsplitting crackle from above him...

----------------------------------

"Non of yar bizniss!!" Raddis grunted as his fist smashed Dimitri's armor over his hand, crumpling it. Dimitri felt intense pain, his hand was bleeding as the armor squished into his skin. A big black hand came up to grapple with Dimitri's face.

Daugo tried to create flames out of his palm but nothing occurred. His powers weren't working?

Tamara was left cornered between Dimitri and Raddis on one side and the other soldier on the opposite. The man seemed to be sitting back and watching.

------------------------------

Boom.

The bolt fired by the men on the scorpion near his feet hit her beneath the chest, blowing up a portion of his spike. It cracked and the Savage Giant fell just as Sigeric's bolt passed her. He had missed. She began to stand, her torso had the tip of the spike still skewered through her while the imprisonments had somewhat caused one of her arms to drop. She was down to only the bone-blade and with fury, the Savage rushed towards the Guardian, roaring and charging through the empty field.

"FIRE!" Vardamir yelled. A number of explosive noises to Miriel's right went off and she raised her bone-blade up to protect her face as a number of shells smashed into the Savage, exploding and turning her bone-blade and right arm to dust. A number of soldiers by her feet netted her legs and immobilized her with spears and pikes and stakes. A single bloody green eye stared back at Sigeric as she faced him. She was completely vulnerable.

--------------------------------

The night was silent outside Morgoth's fortress. The wind was soft. Thirty-figures leaped over the walls in complete silence and entered the building, opening a hole and shutting it. Their assault had begun.

Vana followed behind her sister Yavanna as Aule led them. Their plan was simple. Neutralize the Balrogs and anyone else inside the castle. Capture the Trickster. And imprison Morgoth with the new Againor. With them was Nessa, a number of Ainur including Olorin also known as Gandalf the Grey, the two blue wizards, and Salmar. It was the largest undertaking of Eru's loyalists. Mandos had told them that Sauron and a number of Morgoth's minions had been deployed to fight the realm of Gondor leaving the Dark Lord vulnerable. This was their best chance.

If they failed here...the world would be doomed. So they could not fail. They would not fail.

Dimitri grunted in pain and said, "Just trying to make conversation." He tries to grab the hand and keep it away from his face. IF he manages to do that and keep the hand away, he tries to kick the guy in the balls. He materializes a little knife on his boot, like the Joker had in the Dark Knight. Great movie, by the way. Its on Netflix, watch it. Tamara stood pertified. She couldn't run. She couldn't hide. She would die if she didn't do something. But what could she do? She remembered her fights against Furdin and gang, and thought, maybe she could beat the man.

As Arandil looked up and fear gripped a hold of him ,without a word he put Dina on the horse and got on. His goal was to race to the next level of Minas Tirith to try and avoid the damage and destruction that the giant's fall would cause.

''Come on boy, COME ON!'' he said as he began galloping in what was a foolish but worth-while attempt to escape and live. He was doing everything to get both of them out of this mess. He would do everything it takes to leave all this chaos behind, all his past desires and events.. to just live with her. To see his family again. His needed to fulfill his promise, he had to.
