VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

Cardiloc was glad it was Radaa carrying him, not Iver... He gazed in terror as the giant began to throw his boulders.

Finally, Ha'zi emerges from the forest... and collapses next to a tree due to exhaustion. Although he is tired, he has a smile of relief, for the nightmare is over. No more corpses. No more death. He gets up, "I wonder what I mis--" At that moment, Ha'zi notices the chaos at the beach. Bodies everywhere, the land drenched in blood, wood, and stone, and screams from all directions. Worst of all, he sees it. The giant. But how? Horror goes through his body as he sees the giant seemingly ready to throw a rock at his camp. No, no no no. No more death, please. "I've got to help them!" So, Ha'zi runs to the site, with his first desination in mind: Lesier.

Iver walked into the forest with his barrel of water. For a second there he was thinking if to accept the giant's offer but then he remembered that he has some unfinished business......

The old man was struggling along with no one to help him. Ha'zi could see him lingering near the campsite trying to follow on his walking stick as the others abandoned the place. There were a few others hauling barrels and crates of goods but they were far ahead of the old Haradrim man. Lesier saw Ha'zi rushing towards them and exclaimed, "Boy, get back to the jungle with the others! The monster is killing those other people near it! Why are you coming back here?!"

Meanwhile in the jungle many of the slaves had gathered, Sigeric and his six archers; Dean holding an unconscious Elodrin surrounded by the other Gondorians like Marco and Sam; Grimnir shouting at panicking morons like Celeste and Daugo; Radaa carrying the wounded Cardiloc; Iver, forever alone, with a barrel of water; Riko and his four Haradrim goons; and Margoz who has suddenly appeared with Freida, unexplainedly. Elodrin awoke after a few moments.
Everyone seemed in shock, panic or just horrified at what occurred. Some like Deslan, though, were unmoved. Nonetheless, they could still see the giant through the trees, preparing to unleash a hail of rocks and saw that some of the slaves were still on their way like Lesier. It was then that they noticed Ha'zi had returned and was running towards the campsite, not away from it.

"What is that lad doing!" Cardiloc's eyes darted back to the camp as he watched Ha'zi run towards Lesier, "Wulf protect that lad..." He mumbled to himself silently. Before Iver rushed past him.

"I can't leave you. Not now. I've already lost my mother a-andd.." he holds back tears," my father. So, I'm not leaving you. Come on." He holds out his hand.

Daugo backs towards a tree and hides behind it, sliding down until his nether regions touched the lush earth of the forest. Slightly curled up in fear, he looks like a bundle of skin, hair and rags.

Elodrin after waking would struggle out of Deans grasp getting back to his feet. Looking about he would see most of the slaves with a few still coming into the jungle. Looking to the Gondorians he would tell them to follow imp and help hem others to after pyre, everyone else should start following the coast away from the ship and giant but stay in the jungle. Meanwhile those who would follow him would help with the stragglers, Elodrin going to Ha'zi and Lesier.

There was something in Lesier's eyes that moment. A tear? "Ha'zi, bless you. I've lost my family. My own sons and daughters abandoned me. I'm old and haggard. My entire life has been poor. I was weak, pathetic, but when I found you I realized I could help. I could teach you and parent you. You brought some hope to my meaningless, worthless life. Even if I die-when I die, I hope my memory will live on in you." He said, taking the boy's hand and rushing with him as fast as his old, wobbly legs could take him.

"Nuo, stop! THE THING!" Radaa rushed into Iver and Elodrin, stopping them. They turned to see the giant hurl its load of rocks straight at their ship and campsite with a thundering WHOOOSH.

Lesier stops, seeing this, turns and throws himself onto Ha'zi, pushing the boy to the ground and shielding him as a barrage of rocks, cobble, debris and scree pummels into them. The entire campsite, the few stragglers carrying the barrels, the ship, everything was smashed by the giant's catapult of rocks.

Although, Lesier tried to shield Ha'zi it was not enough to save the boy. The old man was shredded by multiple rocks, the only remaining body part, the left side of his face, lay covered in sand on the ground next to Ha'zi. The boy was also damaged. His right leg was blasted into nothingness, a slice of meat from his upper torso had been penetrated and removed, even some fragments of cobble resided in one of his eyes. It was not enough to save him.

"Nooooo!!!" Cardiloc screamed as the old man who had given him the spear was vaporised in front of his eyes, he watched helplessly as the boy was torn apart by the rocks.

Elodrin would fall to his knees upon seeing the boulder hit the ship and campsite. Seeing the bloody remains of Lesier and Ha'zi made him grab a fistfull of dirt (or sand) as he started to hammer the ground with his fist. Each time he struck the ground a small noise could be heard from him. Radaa and Iver however could here him say. "No....No....No...." Looking up to the sky he would close his eyes and scream (not aloud but in his mind) he was just a boy! An innocent child! How can you do this? How can you abandon us?! Yet he knew he wouldn't receive an answer. Wiping his nose and eyes he would stand and start to wordlessly walk in the direction he told everyone else to go. His only words were "It's not safe here."

Before they could move on-

A FLASH OF LIGHT-

And where their campsite had been stood another giant. Tall and huge, standing upon the destroyed remnants and bodies of their friends. It reared its head and roared, loudly, staring at the other giant.

From their position on the ground, they could all notice something horrifyingly off about this giant. It....resembled Ha'zi. Brown hair, darker skin tone and with the same brown eyes of the lad. This giant seemed to be ignoring them, facing off against the other giant.

"such a shame, do tell me, Celeste. Did you send him into the forest?" Grimnir would say as he looks at Celeste with his eyes filled of question.

"By Wulf..." Cardiloc muttered to himself, watching a new giant appear in front of them on the beach. He held onto Radaa for support.

"The hell?" Elodrin would say upon seeing the possibly giant version of Ha'zi. However he would motion for the others to run in the direction he was walking "I think we all know what will happen if they start to fight."
