VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

Sigeric nodded in response to Daugo, just as Silesia arrived. "Silesia. I'm sorry about your brother. Dean and I were on the same ship together, though I cannot claim to have known him as well as I would have liked. We were just discussing the Maiar's potential plans for us. Do you trust them?"

"Sure thang." Marco replied, heading off to the cabin to find Sam. Iver found Illmare after some searching, he saw her sitting on the beach, staring off into the sea as the waves lapped lightly before her feet. She was magnificent and every time he saw her was like being slapped with a beautiful spatula. Thoruk caught Iver on his way out of the cave and saw him on the beach, near Illmare. "Even though they saved us from the slavers, fed us, helped us, healed us, they brought us into this war. I will never forgive them for killing my brother. It was their fault he died. They involved him in this fight of theirs. Dean did not deserve to die like-like that." Silesia broke up a bit, a tear dropping onto her left cheek, "Of course I don't trust them. It's clear they're hiding something. It's not like they'll save all of us. It's obvious they only mean to take you and the Giant things. And there's only one Giant left, meaning that only one of the twenty or so of us who aren't Giants can be taken to that place they call Vaalinuuor. What do you think will happen to the rest of us?" The implied danger was clear in her voice. 12519458

Pyrus would be sitting on a bench outside. A large fish on a stick was in his hand, while he sat on the bench and ate his fish he would look into the fire. Images from the past and present swimming through his vision. However he didn't have time to develop himself in the past. He was about to stand up and head over to Illmare but saw that one of the Giants, Iver, had sat down next to her. Shrugging he would turn back around and face the fire.

"Either they'll kill us, take us there, or leave us to rot. I'm hoping for the latter," says Daugo dryly, consciously barging into the private conversation that Silesia obviously wants to have with Sigeric. Romance would do the man some good, sure, but it would also distract him, and Daugo couldn't afford to have one of the most sensible members of the group chasing after some woman.

"Well, this was useless." Ha'zi thinks. "Can't even read these." He looks around at the others. Each in their own separate groups, already established before anyone ever noticed him. Even after all he's done, seems he's still left out. Well, some people included him. Iver.. kinda nice, not a long-time thinker. Dimitri, his stories entertained him and he wished he could be like that man one day. Maybe he could get some training with him later...

But there was one person that Ha'zi thought of that seemed even more out of place than he. Illmare. How does she feel about all this? So many people that she's been helping, killed in one day. An entire city in ruins. And her friend, nothing more than a puddle. The other slaves thinking of her as a monster.
He truly felt sorry for Illmare the more he thought of what she's been through. So, he left the cabin and approached Illmare quietly on the beach. Then, he layed his supplies in a pile on the ground and sat himself down next to her, "How are you?"

"I just wanted to say that im sorry for your loss, It must be very hard to loose someone you knew for so long. I dont believe that any of us mortals can understand what you are going through. I wanted to apologize in the name of our group, most of us are tired and scared, we have been kidnaped by slavers, attacked by monsters, some of us are afraid of the monsters we have become and some are scared of the monsters their friends became" He said.
"I also wanted to thank you for doing your best for the group, you didnt come with the idea of doing this, you got orders and i know its not your fault. Nost of us know that its not your fault that we are here, they just have no one to blame it on currently"

"That's kind, Iver. Thank you." she said, turning her head around to him. "I don't blame your friends for despising me. To them, I'm an omnipotent, cruel creature who decides their fate. That's not the case. I don't even decide my own fate. Like Eonwe," she paused, her eyes looking to the ground for a moment, "I am but a follower. I take commands like the good soldier I am, whether I like them or not, whether they are moral or wrong, whether they are just or simply cruel. The Valar are all powerful, they're fierce, they're absolute, they're Valinor's most terrifying weapons. I cannot disobey them lest they smite me to oblivion and scatter my remains across the spiritual plane. Manwe, he isn't what everyone believes. He acts kind and benevolent but truthfully," she paused thinking about what to say, "I shouldn't talk ill of the Valar."
She looked at him with a slight smile, "Iver, can I tell you the truth?" she asked. 14628767

----------

"I'm fine. Eonwe's death shook me and Sigeric wasn't wrong when he said we lied to you. Ha'zi, I need to tell you the truth and the reason we lied. Are you willing to listen and tell your friends the truth afterward? I am a bit too afraid to ask them this and feel it would be received better from you." 16315828

"I don't want to take you back to Valinor. The Valar don't want to give you anything. They want to lock you away, indefinitely, so that Morgoth cannot be released from the void. I don't want to follow their orders anymore. They think they can do whatever they want and get away with it. It's disgusting. I want to help you but to do that I need your help and your trust as well as the trust of your friends. Otherwise, as soon as we take the last Giant power, the Valar will come for you." Illmare said, extending her hand to Iver. "I cannot defeat the Valar without the combined Powers of the Giants and my own. Pyrus is a worker Maiar and thus is unlikely to disobey the orders of the Valar. We'll have to disable him as soon as the last Giant power is taken. Then we could escape from the island before the Valar come. Do you trust me, Iver?" Her hand was there for him to take. Yet, would Iver join her? Would he take her side in disobeying the Valar? 14628767

"Absolutely. As long as you are ok with telling it, after everything that happened, I'll listen," he says kindly.

Illmare repeated what she had told Iver, to Ha'zi. The boy began to understand yet she added something.

"Ha'zi, Eonwe and I were forced to lie in order to convince you to join us and take the powers of the Giants. I want to set one thing right. Ha'zi, could you come closer, just trust me okay," she said indicating for him to come close to her. 16315828

"Yes i do trust you illmare, maybe if we delay finding and killing the behemoth we can make a better plan" Iver said before leaving her.
Iver returned to the cave where marco and sam translated the book. "So, story time. Whats in the book?" He asked the two gondorians.

"When the time comes, we all have a choice to make." Sigeric told the group - Daugo, Dimitri, Cardiloc, and Silesia. "The Maiar may seem all powerful, but our fate is in our own hands. Whatever our decision may be, we will not allow them to stop us." He turned to Silesia. "With Elodrin gone, you are the highest ranking Gondorian here. Can we rely on the support of the others?"

"Uhh, you might wanna sit down for this one..." Sam said to Iver, "I've only translated some of it and others bits are fuzzy. You sure you don't wanna get the others, cause this is-" he paused, "Big." 14628767

-------------

"Yes." Silesia said, extending her hand to Sigeric. 12519458

"I think we should decide if to share it with the others after we know it ourselves" Iver said. "If it will take you longer than that ill go and be productive to the group" he continued, "Thoruk, wanna help me make actual bads?" Iver shouted toward the dwarf after walking outside his cave to the main place.

"Got it." Sam said, paging through the book with Marco making snarky comments about the previous Guardian Shifter's handwriting.

----------------

Just then Daugo and Dimitri realized that Cardiloc had been talking to them. Sigeric was a bit busy with his "romance" with Silesia. Silesia's hand remained suspended in the air waiting for Sigeric to shake it. Victas picked some coconuts whilst near the jungle. Iver saw him doing this whilst Thoruk hadn't answered his question. Illmare placed her palms over Ha'zi eyes and spoke something in that strange language he could not grasp. For a moment all was still and the silence was only broken by the discord of mewling seagulls and the slow crashing of the waves on the beach. Then light. Ha'zi's mind seemed to open. His eyes burned slightly and a flood of memories came to him. He began to see. Finally. He remembered that man, Keldar, talking to him,
"I'm sorry. I have to do this. It's the only way. They told me. I saw it. What would happen if I didn't give you my curse-m-my power. You have to use it to stop them."

Then a memory of his mother before she passed, "Ha'zi stay close dear, remember, your father will always protect you. That's why you have to be a good boy and listen to him. Okay, Ha'zi? Will you be a good little boy?"

Then his last memory of his father, which had so far, been erased from his mind,

---

He saw him, fighting those slaver men for him, and dying. He saw them beat him. Murder him. And leave his body to rot in the hot sands of Harad. His father was dead. Eonwe had lied to him. The Valar had lied to him.

---

Then he was back. His head felt sore from the rush of memories and his heart burnt with anger and sadness. Illmare looked sadly at him and spoke softly,
"That is the truth."

Dimitri said nothing, lost in his thoughts, then left the hut without warning to go tell tales of heroic men and brave Eldar to the tired sons and daughters of Middle-Earth.

Sigeric returned the handshake. "I wish you good fortune in the battles to come." He turned to Cardiloc. "You dislike the prospect of us being taken to Valinor as well. Good. We need to know the opinions of the remaining shifters on the matter."
