What made Emirewar v1 so much fun?

I feel like there are a few minor things that make a huge difference between Ew v1 and Ew v2 But I can't describe what they are. I feel like something is missing now.
 
The unique playstyle: not being a kitpvp game where you capture flags. It felt kind of like still far from perfect like a siege. We had siege towers ladder classes and I think that teamplay played a far bigger role than today. Today any rookie can capture a flag by sneaking or glitching through some secret passage which is on an outdated map made 5 years ago. Also alot of features like fireing catapults are missing and all in all it just doesn't feel like a siege more like a run and kill game.

Can't you readd the ladders at the wall on the helmsdeep map?
 
I also loved the speech from movies in chat. Also how tirith passed from day to night and arrival of gront

Yes.
 
Well.. I tried my best to readd as many Siege elements as possible. (Helms ladders, siege towers, bashing/bracing/repairing, ladders, background catapults, etc)
We also do still have the movie speeches in chat at as many locations as possible.
True, Grond isn't there atm, but apart from that I don't think there's that much difference in Siege elements. It's just that when there's 10 people online, it becomes a lot easier for one person to sneak capture a flag. On the old server, when we had 60 on, there was no way one person could single handedly capture a flag, because of the amount of enemies.

Also, there's lag now, which is probably a major part of why it's less fun.
 
strength 3 troll, also add more interactions with the maps, I like games where people build large wooden walls because it adds something new to the map. If walls were able to be broken down randomly I would at least enjoy myself more.
 
Well, EW V1 isn't going to come back without the player base, which we don't have. Unfortunately. In my opinion, we got screwed over by Eula. We got no donations in after that.

Luckily, that is no longer an issue, which is why we now have such vast amounts of money in reserve.

The closing of ew v1 caused a ton of our players to leave, and the problem of Eula didn't allow Tim to fund his server.
 
Donor classes literally copied from Conwy and without a roleplay lotr sense, such as berserker and ranger. You could have invented different and new classes or atleast rename them to make this server even more different and original from what conwy is and more similar to what this server is supposed to be, Lotr siege.
