What made Emirewar v1 so much fun?

Donor classes literally copied from Conwy and without a roleplay lotr sense, such as berserker and ranger. You could have invented different and new classes or atleast rename them to make this server even more different and original from what conwy is and more similar to what this server is supposed to be, Lotr siege.
This should get attention STAFF

We are introducing lore-dependent donor packs per map, as you will have noticed.
Also, the only way to change this would be renaming them, which really would not do much.
 
Renaming them, adding custom heads back and color leather armors depending on the team you are, for example ranger will have black painted leather armors if the player joins uruk hai team. The biggest mistake was made when the current donor classes were created.

It's easy enough to come up with ideas yourself but here are some:
- Change the website background
as zoom said, ew is literally conwy 2.0 so you just MUST change the background and to make it feel more lotr maybe change it to something related to it.
- Change site theme
take a look at the borders of the website and it's buttons. Conwy has the same so just change it as-well.
- Change the top page banner
Ok this time nothing to do with conwy, but this looks dusty and a bit boring
For in-game ideas I'll maybe tell some in future...
 
Hey I have a great idea, someone open a thread in suggestion and everyone will write down his in 5-15 sentences and will follow up app formation. After let's say 2 months the op will make a poll and everyone will vote for and against ideas that they see in the thread (make it multiple option choice). For this to work you must also advertise it in the server and discord.

Side notes, I can do it myself if you want but the staff team must advertise it.
No argument in the thread, you don't like idea? Dislike it in the poll.
No stupid things like "make me a staff", "add more maps" and "somehow use your coding magic to make the lag go away" for those are things that the staff team always works on (right guys?).
And if you want non staff member to do it you must PM/DM him your to do list.

I'll tell u what u can do, u can combine maps, u can have have it so the world feels more like an open world and not only siege. For example, the battle of Gondor where battles happen on several fronts, Kinda like NaW has. Im not saying become like them but something similiar could save the server. Gondor resources and mordor resources would allow for upgrades such as unlocking citadel guard (just an example) Donators would be able to buy classes individually, A stable for cavalry that respawns horses occasionally, Several capzones around the map, A barrack or armoury where u can buy upgrades to your gear and strenght, Archery for bows and arrows, A mine for gear, Some towns/cities around the map that can be occupied by both teams. Do I need to go on?

i dont think it will work due to the fact that servers like that will need a massive player base that we dont have, easier thing will be to focus on small area with few stops like tirith, palnor field village, west osgiliath, east osgiliath, orc fortress, morgul.

No you don't. Maybe this just isn't where Tim wants to go with the server? This is not NaW and it's not trying to be NaW, the whole concept is sieges, not some kind of strategic conquest game. I know you really enjoy that kind of gameplay, and so do i from time to time, but it's not EW.

Didn't NaW grow big for a while only? And that was because some YouTubes played on it?

How? Have you actually played on Conwy much recently? Because it is completely and utterly different. The classes are different, the gameplay (i.e: capturing, points, etc) is different, the maps are different. If they were the same server, the playerbase would not be split between two servers, right? Am I missing something here?

Also, if you didn't mean 'literally', do not use literally... it can cause confusion.

If the forums were full of good suggestions I wouldn't have to make a thread *pleading* for new class ideas, would I?

Furthermore, do you know when the last legit suggestion was? It was Sam's 'Minas Tirith is unfair', which we agreed with, and started changing. You will have noticed we've changed Tirith a fair amount since then (and still have a lot more to do, of course). What was the last suggestion before that? Glowing Elf swords. Not a major suggestion, and Steal explained why it wouldn't be added right away. And the previous suggestion? Updating server to 1.12.2. Done. And the previous? Bashes. We agree with adding bashes, it's on the to-do list and is not ignored. I could go on.

To summarise: The bad suggestions are not added, the good ones are either added or on the to-do list. And may I add none of the recent suggestions have *anything* to do with EW v.1... If you want to make it like V1, you need to remove the repairs stat, not add bashing, revert the capping to points when it reaches 100%, etc etc etc. It would be a disaster.

For the two beginning points, these are just silly. Why on earth would we change our theme for the sake of it being similar to Conwy's? Why? It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. To the average player, does the background of an Enjin website change how they enjoy the Minecraft game? No! Furthermore, we have had this theme for a good long time, on EW v1 as well... So I don't see how that is relevant to this thread.

For your third point, that is silly too. If you want to make a new logo, go ahead. But if it is no good (like most of the suggestions), It'll be rejected. Then do not complain.

No. You have been suggesting this for years, and there is a reason that it has not been added. There is a reason a similar idea *keeps on* failing on NaW, and that is because it is a bad idea. Our current game-time (30-45 minutes) is perfect for playing a game or two in the evenings for the average player. It brings a sense of achievement and closure once you've finished playing. Making vast, vast maps with dozens of castles in simply would a) not work and b) require a lot of changes to code etc. And in case you hadn't noticed, we don't have a lot of dedicated, active Devs right now. Assassiniv made one of his few reasonable responses in responding to that - you can't just create this vast game for a mid-sized playerbase. And he is also right that we need to concentrate on the maps that we actually have, and their gameplay.

Assassiniv don't double post, edit.

Olex reiterates what I just said in my previous paragraph, so I feel no need to add to that.

In conclusion, be reasonable. You're all babbling like a bunch of baboons. The fact that Olex used to complain like you, and now doesn't (because he has actually realised what we do all day, and the amount of effort we put in), puts many of these complaints to rest.


p.s: Continue suggesting stuff. I was complaining earlier in my rant that you weren't suggesting enough, and I stick by that. Just don't be pissed off when they are rejected.

We've already removed cooldowns and I like one feature - food heals you, which means you can get into another fight. Otherwise it'd be: Fight, die, respawn, fight, die, respawn and so on...

I like the fact that cooldowns are removed (also makes it a bit easier to catch hackers in some cases), but completely reverting to 1.8 would not be an option. The fact that'd you'd need to recode (well, not code, but write english, but let's not argue about that (heh)) loads of the server to make it compatible, and some plugins may not work on 1.8, it's just not feasible and would cause all sorts of issues.
