For those of you who don't want to read a page long goodbye, here's the summary. It's time for school, and this year I'm gonna have a lot less free time. I want to spend that Free-time less in the imaginary world that is EW, and more in the real world, with friends, family, and school work (please, like I'll have any free time). So, this is my goodbye to the EW community. I hope I can log in to forums at least once a month, possibly once a week, and I'll play when I can, but I'll certainly be much less active now (I'm even taking EW off my top sites and removing email notifications to save myself from distractions!) In my absence, I nominate Everybody as replacement DM; though I would like to be able to moderate on important DM issues as much as I can, I won't moderate the simple, everyday RP issues as much, so Every, keep Thu in line! If you really need to contact me, post on my wall, I'll keep that notification active. Anyways, here's the message:
I’ve been a part of EW for over a year now. It’s been a great time. There’s been a lot of positive things, the bards, some of RP, the server community in general. There’s been a lot of negative things too. I spent way too much time on Forums and siege this year, probably should’ve been studying or socializing with real people. But that’s alright. What I mean to say is, I really enjoyed getting to know all of you over the past year, and I hope you enjoyed getting to know me as well.
There are a lot of people who effected my time at EW who I’d like to thank. First and foremost, as everyone does I would like to thank Tim for founding EW. It’s a great and unique server community that shows the best of what Minecraft can be. Thanks to Titan Kronos and Only_God, who were always nice to me even though I was a mere non-donor and Tim didn’t even like me very much. I really appreciate all that you two have done over this year to improve the server, and especially what you have done for me personally and for the bards. I’d like to thank all the members of the Bards, but a few people in particular. Thanks to Kordian, Stormfur, and Pwner for being great Squires. I enjoyed teaching you my knowledge and learning from you as well. Thanks to Cool_col, who was always very down-to earth and knew all the secrets on the maps. He also has a lot of money to lend which is nice. And most of all thanks to ThuBioNerd. Thu was always the anti-beep, the beepbopit you could say (reference to an easter egg that is NYI ). While we argued a lot, particularly recently and about RP, Thu was always a great companion whose passion for RP probably is even greater than mine.
When leaving someplace that has been a part of you, it’s always important to consider what legacy you leave behind, how people will remember you (here comes the shameless self-complimenting). I hope people remember me as a kind, respectable member of the community, as a poor PVPer who still played frequently even though he sucked and probably should’ve quit years ago. I hope people remember me as a wise source of counsel, someone who knows things and can be counted on to help with any situation. I hope people remember me as at least a moderate RPer, who worked hard to make RP the important part of EW that it is today. But, most importantly, I hope people remember me as a kind, devoted member of the EW community, who worked for what he believed was best for all. In the end, it doesn’t matter what you remember me as, but I hope your opinion is positive, as I work hard to make that happen. Of course, like all things, I will one day leave the thoughts of all, become a mere memory in the back of ones mind, or even less. Yet, I am happy to know that I effected at least a few people’s lives during my time here at EW, and of course that I will always be remembered in the Bards. Thank you all for a great time!
Thus ends, for a long time, the account of Beepbobit the Wise, Master of Rivendell, Lord of the Bards, Captain of the Royal Guard, Spearman of Gondor, and Cupbearer of the King
