Easy solution to the damn shutdown

Well this obviously isn't the greatest idea, but who actually cares anymore?

EULA is only shutting down big servers that don't follow the EULA, I doubt that Microsoft will find out Empire War is not following the EULA due to it being quite a small server.

So if tim wants to save the server he needs to add back donations perks and ranks as well as a load of fucking pay to win perks :) His choice but pretty sure that's the only way to keep it up now and increase the player base.

He said in his wall post that he wouldn't do this. It's almost like he wants it to die...

I mean worst case scenario his server does get shutdown from breaking EULA, but he is going to shut down his server anyway by the end of the month so why not (Sorry I can't see EW making $150 in 12-13 days)

What's the risk? Either way, the server is shutting down.

But, if people donate and the server gets shut down, there will not be happy people.

This is very true. The only reason that someone wouldn't want to go against EULA would be so they don't get shut down, but if the server is closing anyway...

Even though I have spent 255 Euro on EW, I dont think it is a waste, as it has at least helped the server to survive for one more month, since I theoretically paid for one month.

Heh, a long while ago, when the EULA was introduced, I was probably the only person who campaigned for tim abiding by it. It's just the right thing to do, and even if it's needed to save the server, what's the point in playing on one where your ability is only determined by the size of your wallet? I've got a lot of faith in tim - he was there for me when I needed it, he listened to me, and I listened to him. Therefore, I feel as though it's his right as the owner to shut it down now that he feels that that is the better way to go. I would, without a doubt, not play on a server that was only pay-to-win, and I think that most people would agree. People should be able to earn whatever they need to succeed in games and servers like these without the intervention of cash.

Just came to check in and say all that jazz, really, so adios.

You don't even play on the server? Never even seen you before. That's why you want it shut down. So your opinion is invalid.

He's a veteran. His opinion is a valid as any other, sadly including yours.

And please cut the rude and cocky behaviour for once.

Well, basically what Cookie said regarding him being a vet. Also, I think what Beast meant was that he would not want to see EW turn into a mockery of itself - if it were to go down, it would be best for the server to go down in a dignified fashion.

About this topic. I realize changing the server to pre-EULA again could have economics rise for another few months. But it would cause for a constant fear of being shut down.

Along with this, I have stated that the costs are not the only reason for the shutdown. I just don't have the time or motivation to continue with this, and we haven't had many people on the past months. The server is slowly dying off anyways, and I'd rather shut it down at a top than when near everyone has left.

Note that, obviously, I do not want the server to die, but I feel like any action taken now is too late and that whether we act, or not, the server will die within 2 months either way. And I'd rather not spend too much of my spare time into it knowing that. I do have to prepare for my studies and a lot of other stuff like that, so I can't be asked to not be fully focused on that.

this is how mincraft will last unless mojang does something, one server after another will shut down, each one slowly dieing. until only the biggest servers are left. this server shut down bec of how boring siege gets after you play a map for the 17th time.. then when a new one gets out, everyone wants to play it.. it gets over played... gets boring... anyways, this is just what i think..
