Easy solution to the damn shutdown

this is how mincraft will last unless mojang does something, one server after another will shut down, each one slowly dieing. until only the biggest servers are left. this server shut down bec of how boring siege gets after you play a map for the 17th time.. then when a new one gets out, everyone wants to play it.. it gets over played... gets boring... anyways, this is just what i think..
EW isn't dying because it's gotten boring, not entirely. It's dying because of an unreasonable EULA, lack of motivation on behalf of the owner, and low server population, which is in itself a result of many variables. But as you can see, there are a lot of us that are not bored yet and would wish it would last longer >.>

In regards to Tim, I would dare say that Tim has been maintaining the server for awhile, and with school, EW, and the stress of IRL things have resulted in said lack of motivation.

There are also a lot who left because it did became boring. Like, most veterans for example. With the siege gamemode, you just need to release new maps every few months, and update/scrap/rework existing ones, which is something we didn't do (relatively seen to the ideal server).

The fuck? Me and some orthers revamped morgul and moria x.x what are you on about?

In the long run, it would be quite hard to sustain EW financially. EULA certainly doesn't help as it places constant pressure and hence limits the staff's ability to add donors, but tbh I think Tim could have made certain better decisions. The 'second server', no matter LMS or the Age of War, are just too similar to EW in gamemode (cyclic battles) that it can't attract enough people. Similarly, the RPG server was an idea that was doomed from the beginning.

These second servers just kept soaking up money that could have been used to run EW. Perhaps it would only have delayed the inevitable, but at least it would have literally bought more time. The only server I thought had potential financially was RP if it were better managed.

Besides, Tim lost motivation. I think it might be better if EW were handed to someone else, but its up to him. EW had a good run anyway.

what if we bring back the good old EW? with 1.8 PVP, old maps, i mean, the first ones, not like the new morgul, so heavily modified, or moria, the starting ones that made the server famous

I would be interested in buying the plugins, but the maps not really. I would rather construct newer up to date versions. However I doubt Tim will be willing to part with his hard work.
