GoT (Rp forum game)

The ramming stopping was a fatal flaw, the battering ram and it's men were up the Lion's Mouth causeway and could not retreat without arrows in their backs. But instead of arrows the great gates flung open and arrows sprayed out into the front lines of the battering ram them came the pikemen who jabbed and poked at any who attempted to enter or flee, the few men at the battering ram had little hope of survival.

((Mile, I thought you had those 10k inside/outside the city and divided up. That's why I charged the rear which was outside the city. My bad though, if they're all in the city than this happens, if not then they charge into the remaining rebels outside the city.))

((If not)) The Lannister cavalry under many lords, Estren, Kenning and Prester reeled upon the Lannisport but seeing as all the rebels were inside the city-walls they continued around the city to get a side-angle of the main host which they charged towards.

Lord Lydden's cavalry attempted to pull away yet this was sad and the remaining men fought for their lives.

Total:
Light and Heavy Cavalry: 1,900.
Knights: 2,350.
Lords: Lydden, Estren, Prester and Kenning.

The Battle of Fair Isle and Battle of the Sunset Sea was concluded, Jason Lannister along with Lord Payne secured the hostages of Lords high and small. Lord Beesbury, Lord Farman, his wife, his daughters, his sons, his nephews, his uncles. Everyone of them. All were taken abroad the last ships to set sail. Prisoners captured in the fighting too were taken. The Ironborn would have liberty to pick from the people of Fair Isle their thralls. The bodies of both Lannister's of Lannisport were taken back to Lannisport for burial. Little did they know....

((This is all I can do for now.))

(Basically, the rebel force of 10k moved into the city to sack it. The main force is attacking the rock ad are all still outside. )
The forces of the rebels where not so easily caught of guard from the charge at their now rear flank. The ram still sat in the Lannister forces way and the forces had not retreated, just stopped ramming to see what was happening. Battle ensued and at first, the line at the lions mouth was held because the numbers where equal between attackers and defenders. The captain was infuriated by this. He ordered the men to push the ram forward more and sting it into the pikemen lines. A strange tactic that might or might not work.

In the city of Lannisport, the ramming restarted seeing that the rear flank was safe. The outer gate of wood was easily brought down and thy moved on to the second killing all in their path.

The ship sailing with the bodies of the two dead lannisters was infected by plague. It is not safe to bring a flayed and rotting man aboard a cramped vessel. The plague was just a common flu which killed 15 men on board before it had run its course. The Iron born took many thralls but stayed at the island and sent 2 ships back to call for more aid. The lord greyjoys wound, though mostly sealed, was infected from the rotting corpses and he fell ill.

The corpses and those infected dead would be thrown overboard to the Drowned God. That ship was returned to Fair Isle while the others continued, those which did not have corpses abroad that is.

Both cavalry forces had slammed into parts of the enemy host no less and to add to the chaos were the boulders shot from Casterly Rock. The ram tactic would have to deal with the pikes jutting forward that may or may not hit the ram-carriers.

Once the curtain wall was taken archers rained hell down from above, alchemists tossed vials of potions, flames erupted. And oil rained down on the enemies as they broke through the curtain-wall wooden gate, the flames licking it and all burned including what was left of that gate.

Jason Lannister was tired, wounded and burned. Flames had poured over his left arm rendering it weak and useless. But as it was flames the wound was cauterized and no infection may be caught, as science tells us. However this was a world of Ice and Fire. Nonetheless he was wrapped in bandages and cloaked within his quarters to lay at his bed until returning to Casterly Rock oblivious to the danger that awaited.

A raven would be sent from Highgarden to storms end, hoping to broker and alliance between the Tyrells and the Baratheons.

The infected ship is now cured with the bodies of the diseased removed from the living. It could continue to Lannisport and be perfectly fine.

The Cavalry forces route a large number of infantry and slay many men until they are finally subdued after being surrounded by the vast number of foes around them. Chaos spread through the ranks on both sides as the battle tides turned and tossed about between the two sides. As for the ram, its bashers where protected by a wooden and metal plate at its front and its first bash smashed the enemy pike wall like a ships bow through water. None of the infantry behind the ram could charge effectively yet so they waited for this moment to strike.

Assuming the flames erupted from a torch on the oil and not the alchemists than all is well. A great battle ensued that many infantry would remember as the battle of burning stone. Many of the rebels where slain viscioulsy by the flames but they pushed through and took the first level walls after fighting up the stairs and loosing many men. They brought up a new ram through the city to resume the bashing of the next gate.

The Lannister took good precautions. He does not contract disease and his ship sails with no problem towards lannisport, for now...

The Tyrell would see slaughter. As far as the eye could see it was slaughter. The rock was surrounded with a glimmering wedge cut into it at two points from charging cavalry. The city of Lannisport was a massive plum of smoke and it looked ruined beyond belief.

Nearing Lannisport the flames could be seen. And horror struck the remaining fleet. Had the Redwyne's turned back around or had the rebels and possibly Tyrell's and bannermen attacked the city.

The rampage of cavalry spiking into the rebels and their dastardly allies respired hope in the men of the Rock. The cavalry from the Lion-Gate had struck first but was not the only thing to be unleashed from it's jaws. Following behind was fifteen thousand of his force many sworn swords and a number of 800 heavy infantry who served Lord Broom. They had been behind the cavalry and hidden up until now approaching the main host while the enemy was distracted. Archers from the group let loose volleys into groups untouched by the cavalry charges before the swordsmen joined the fray pushing in tidal waves against the beaches of insurgents.

The next gate held the outer-wall which was three meters higher than the curtain-wall's wooden gatehouse. This gate consisted of wood with iron bolting and some steel plating around the face. It was slightly buffer yet would fall. The oil was prepared and the fire torches too. Once the gate was breached oil rained from the death holes and the torches dropped letting loose. This would amount to the Battle of Burning Stone's famous three-gates. That is, if they are breached.

((So I'm doing it that I have 14k Men at arms, 2,000 Knights, 1000 Heavy Cavalry, 2500 Light Cavalry, 2,500 Pikemen and 2,000 Archers from my vassals))
Gremont would send out a force of 3,000 Light Cavalry, 1,800 Knights and 1000 Heavy Cavalry to smash the rebel force attacking casterly rock from the rear. Meanwhile he would send 9,000 Men at arms, 200 Knights, 350 Heavy Cavalry, 500 Light Cavalry, 1,000 Pikemen and 500 Archers to drive the rebels from lannisport.

The Rebels rallied. On the flank of the attacking Lannisters thundered 7,000 total cavalry. Around 2,000 was heavy which led the charge. The front lines where a mess For both sides and the number of bodies easily numbered over 20,000 already. The Tyrells would be easily dealt with. All available pikemen where moved to take on the heavy and light cavalry where the archers, unused for the battle, launch volley after volley at the incoming horses taking down a great many before they even reached the battle line which gave the pike men time. The gate of the rock, was now ready to be pressed upon. Soldiers flooded from both sides of the ram which had dug deep into the enemy lines and flooded in slicing and hacking their way through the pikes which where routed by the ram.

The city of Lannisport fared well. The battle for the next gate had heavily taxed the rebels who pushed now with only a fraction of their former force. This next gate was their last push that they needed. Their morale was low and hurt, they did not have the strength. The rebels where fleeting on both fronts...

But alas not all hope was lost! From the see, the Lord Redwyne and his remaining ships could be seen approaching. In desperate need for supplies and having been told the rebels plan by the lord of Fair Isle, they decided to do a risky raid on the attacked Lannisport. Their Lord couldn't help but smile seeing the other Lannister ships sailing into the harbor. (Lets make this even more chaotic shall we!!!))

The Lord greyjoy passed, but the isle had been reinforced. Now a fleet of 100 longships where stationed there (not as strong as the ones that had attacked the isle with the Lannisters, but still a fleet larger than all but the crownlands which still lay across the vast stretches of ocean. It appeared that they were going to use it as a launch pad for further invasions but non would know, cause well everyone is all battling at Lannisport and Casterly rock.

A force of rebels from the reach had finally marched on High Garden. With most the army gone, few stood in their way.

The Crakehalls finally took the march to the broom keep in full force.

The Rock's defensive unleashed as oil came pouring from the death holes above and splashing to the ground, flames erupted on both sides....

The last gate was the double-steel heavy bars which were dropped. The last oil and fire was prepared as the remaining archers fought to restrain as many enemies as possible before their arrows were all but lost.

The Lannister ships quickly saw this maneuver and made for the beach. The one damaged was quickly abandoned and set ablaze scurrying toward the last of the Redwyne fleet.

And thus ends the reign of House Greyjoy.

The Broom Keep stood stout and proud on the coast with high walls and even higher towers. It's gate made of the oaken forest surrounding the southern Westerlands. Boys would become men today, for all men must die. Valar Morghulis.

(More like only half, also this must be a pretty small army if most of the troops are in lannisport and Casterly Rock, vassals can't have 30,000 troops)
A Raven would arrive in storms end.

Gremont saw the charge of the cavalry and muttered "Shit" before calling for pikemen to prepare for the incoming charge archers were to be behind the pikemen and would fire volleys of arrows.

Time stood still,
Water's flow frozen unlike a mill,
Upon the Sunset Sea's swaying frills,
The Westerlands bloody hills. 10356423

(This was no Westerland army, this was a army of Tyrell Vassals poised to take the seat of their weak overlords. The brought forth ram and ladders to take the Tyrell seat.

The Charge brought death to the Tyrells who had only recently arrived on the field. The Armored wedge drove in like an axe through soft wood before hooking and pulling to the side to retreat before they got to deep, cutting their way through the entire time.

The first rebels into the mouth where slain quickly by the fire but the rest waited for it to quell before charging through with zeal in their sword arms to cut down all in their way. "Fuck the Lannisters!" Was a common battle cry through the ranks.

The Lannisport defenders, slowly ran out of arrows. Their supplies dwindled from a whole battle of massacring helpless vassals. Now it was the rebels chance to return fire. Their archers took down many brave soldiers from the walls while the ram bashed away, thundering through the city giving the men hope.

The small group of Redwyne ships avoid the fire ship and chase the Lannister ships with impressive speed, all their oars and sails full.

The Greyjoy's passing was sent back to the iron islands where a Kingsmoot would be had. A highly likely candidate was Gregor Blackryde who was a skilled sailor and even better swordsmen. He was ruthless and fierce and would cut down all who opposed him, but he was a stickler for rules and respected the traditions of the Iron Islands.

The army surrounded the broom keep, out of arrow range and sat. It looked like this would be a long siege.

After the oil ran out the lines of swordsmen, pikes and spears reformed to hold against the rebels. While the rebels continued pouring through the Lion's Mouth arrows were dropped from the death holes upon their heads (no not literally, but fired downwards).

The ram would have to pass through two bolted steel bars to take down the gate and since no arrows were left the men resorted to the last formation they could do, a route to the keep. That was the majority who were demoralized cravens while few remained to hold this checkpoint and make sure the last of the oil went to good use on these insurgents.

The Lannister ships turned and fled away from them with a peace banner raised high, signal was sent that Lord Beesbury was abroad and that he would be executed if the Redwyne's continued pursuit.

The Broom Keep was silent and quiet with the gates shut, bolted and barred and the walls empty of defenders. Had they all but ran?

The battle raged at the mouth of the keep. Fueled by their lust for blood from a day of hard labor bashing the gate and loosing thousands of men, they fought through the firt line, and the second, and the thrid, till their assault slowed as numbers decreased. They continued to push but began running low on soldiers to push into the mouth. As the battle of the fields quelled, soldiers from there would move up the causeway and help push through.

the ram continued bashing. The men took the time to get well needed rest. Much of the 10,000 sent to take the city was taken out but over 5,000 still remained in the city, 2000 of which were brought to the front lines to finish taking the city.

"The Lord Beesbury has sons to carry on his name. End the Lannister." Lord Redwyne thundered out. His ships continued, gaining on the lannister fleet of 4.

The lord Crakehall heavily guarded all his flanks, much to the loss of the front. A man was sent forth to speak with any in the castle.

The field battle was still going no matter. Two cavalry charges and now an entire legion of 15,000 men were cutting in. ((I think you might have missed this on the past page.))

The Lion's Mouth would not fall as more and more men bearing House Lydden's boar and the entire force of Lord Banefort met them at the Mouth with his own household knights.

The last gate fell and with it the oil burned, oh and it burned. It set alight the wooden floors and beams of the inner-wall and all of the defenders who had not craven-like fled to the Keep burned.

Lord Beesbury was not slain however. Jason had a better plan for him, that was if he survived. The ships lurched toward Casterly Rock's inlet bay where the bottom allowed ships through as a natural harbor. If the Redwyne's wanted a fight they would have to have it on the Lannister turf.

He was met by silence.

(Yeah missed it sorry) The field battle continued as the Lannister forces where wittled away by the superior numbers of Rebels and thier allies. Outnumbered, they fell as they became surrounded and cut down, 1 by 1. Though they took many with them in the initial attacks.

Trechery, ah the thing Game of thrones thrives upon. From the back of the lions mouth, cries of traitors and screams of death, echoed through the opening. From the back the men of house Lydden, following the orders of their lord who was with them in the tunnel, turned on the Lannisters cutting them down.

The massive flames warded off the attackers. They watched as it burned and cheered. The flag of house Lefford, The first rebel vassal, was raised high above the burning city.

The Redwynes do not follow. Not knowing the inside of the harbor was a major dowfall so they halted and stayed put. The Lannisters where lucky, perhaps with the cover of night coming, they could escape their fate.

The crakehalls heavily defend their rear and side flanks.

((Sorry but you never mentioned how many soldiers there were in the beginning in the rebel army and it just seems like an unending infinity after so much oily fire, boulders and rocks, cavalry charges in the thousands, and god knows how many arrows have been thrown and smashed into their lines and still they aren't even 50% down. Damn, has the White Walkers risen all the dead to fight with the rebels or did the Riverlands and Stormlands all join together in this too?))

Lord Lydden and his majority of knights were actually in the first cavalry charge, if you remembered...

((You said 10k men marched on Lannisport. Then you said that the oiling had taken out a fraction of them. Aside from that knowledge you have 3k red cloaks, 1.5k levies and 4k men under Lord Jeyne defending the city which adds to: 8.5k men. However the number of defenders is trimmed to less than two thousand while there is still 50% of the 10k alive. Bruh...))

Crakehall's aren't even being assaulted...
