New Minecraft EULA

Don't destroy it right away monday, wait until we all found a fair solution to the class change. Obviously, this new freaking EULA will change gameplay a lot. It isn't a bad thing at all, but we need time to think of alternatives.

On siege, there could be a point shop (for items bought for ever) They could sell items like- extra protection and feather falling when you vote, you get an iron sword instead of a iron axe for the orc soldier. iron helmets for gondor on the maps were you don't get them. The non-donors could only purchase the boost, but never upgrade it. (They could buyiron helmets, but never upgrade it.)

Lords could upgrade it once, Legends twice, veterans three times, sages 4 times, and king 5 times. For the donors, the upgrades would beworth something very small, like 500 points per upgrade or something like that. This would mean no classes, just the donors get upgraded items, that the non-donors get too.

A list of upgrades here

Iron Sword for orc soilder 5k points (only 500 points for donors)

Iron Helmet for gondor/rohan 5k points (upgradable for donors, (to get added Prot. and golden helm), 500 points

Prot. 2 Feather falling 3 when you vote- 7.5k (only 500 points for donors)

Strength I for 2 secs after a kill-10.k (Upgradable for donors, plus 1 sec each upgrade, 1000 points per upgrade)

Diamond Sword for gondor soilder 15.k points( 5% chance) (Upgradable for donors, 1500 per upgrade))
Gives in-game advantage to donors, so this is against the EULA.

We need to send a letter to Mojang. It's really the only way.
Dear [Mojang Official]

I am a server owner and I am concerned by the recent changes in your EULA. I run a 100-slot Lord of The Rings Siege server and would like to ask you to allow my server to stay open in spite of the EULA changes. Our donor ranks do not restrict gameplay nor do they make the game not fun for our default players. Running a server is very costly and we require a flow of donations to keep us running and to improve our server. Without the ability to offer meaningful rewards for donating, the amount of donations we would receive would be little to none. Our highest rank is 100 euros and we are not a server which give godly armor and the likes to our donors, as most donor classes can be attacked and killed by a class used by a default player. Without an incentive to donate, our server would likely shut down due to a lack of funds. I, and many of my players, would ask Mojang's permission to keep our donor rewards and ranks, as they are the people who kept this server alive for 1 and 1/2 years.

Sincerely,
Tim Herejigers

A sample letter which could be sent to Mojang.

They won't care. Everybody will go down because of those retarded megaservers giving godarmour.

If the letter or Q@A doesn't work, ( would highly doubt it, with all the other server that would suffer), maybe just add little commands that don't affect the gameplay.

For example, donors could get a "spectate" mode were they can spectate the game, if one of the teams which they wish to join is full. The higher donor rank, the more commands while in "spectate mode" can be used, such as teleporting to certain players and flags. You could see other people in "spectate" mode, if you are already in it.

Also, colored nicknames and pets could help, as many other people have suggested, as they could be used elsewhere, not just the lobby. Pets could follow you in-game, but would have no effect. They could be nicknamed, and could maybe even include ender-dragons, which could only be used in the lobby.

Donors could get a special type of currency that allows them to get cool items while in-game or in the lobby, such as fireworks (different color per donor rank) when they kill a person or mini-guns that shoot snowballs in the lobby. There should be some places which are shut off (like the bar on the 2nd level of Minas Tirith, some easter eggs) that only donators have access to.

Just keep on adding little things like this, and I am pretty sure people will still donate.

Has it occurred to anyone else that Minecraft Realms went global just about a month before all of this started? :o I think that this is a ruthless two-step plan initiated by some crazy dude high up in Mojang (it's quite possible that the power has now gone to Jeb's head). Since Realms is owned and operated directly by Mojang, they take all the profits from it. They also tighten up the EULA like this in order to drive a lot of independent servers out of business. When Minecrafters are looking for other multiplayer options, they may give in and start subscribing to Realms!

THIS COULD ALL BE A RUTHLESS BUSINESS PRACTICE DESIGNED TO GET MOJANG MORE $$$!

ITS A MASTER RUSE!!!

It can't be a coincidence

However, if this great server history of ours is to end, let it only end when each man (and woman) here before us lies choking in a pool of their own (figurative) blood. Let this be the hour when we draw swords together and ride out against such reckless profiteering from Mojang. I'm not ready for MC to die just yet.

A splicing of paraphrased LoTR and Winston Churchill

Alright, my idea is for somebody to code a computer virus and then crash mojang, so then the server can stay up.

OR

As a team, the whole server works to acheive things that were achieved with money before, including coding, building, etc!

1. They will always find a way to close us down.
2. coding, building doesn't take very much money (building doesn't take any), it's the hosting the server which takes money.
