The time has come. The lines have been set. The war must begin.
Tim's forces have arrived in the vale of Erebor, and set up camp to begin their siege.
Inside Erebor, Thu's allies have been preparing for some time. They no doubt will be able to hold out for many months, if not years. On the other hand, the surrounding lands of the northmen are fruitful, and Tim's troops could also survive for a long time.
Below I show who is present, who they support, and who their leader is. I have rated the strength of a group on a scale of 1-10, based on size and strength. 1 would be a very small militia type group, for example, Bree. 10 would be a large, powerful army, for example the Uruk Hai, Ents, Eagles or Dragons. ((If you think I was wrong about one of my ratings, please MESSAGE ME and I'll change it Also, if you are the leader of a group and you did not actually support the given leader, please MESSAGE ME don't comment here, let's try to keep this forum to mostly RP If you have problems, try to resolve them via RP, not via OOC complaining cough Thu))

((Here's how RP will work. You can move your troops around, talk to different people, interact with the environment, and, once it comes to blows, attack with YOUR TROOPS ONLY. Typically, a group with a lower number will not be able to defeat one of a larger group. I will try to review all actions made by people and make sure their ok. I will also act for the environment, etc. I'll do a sample action below, to bring us in. Good luck to all!))
Storm clouds block out the sun in the Vale of Erebor, as a light rain begins to fall. Tim's forces are encamped outside the city, in and around the city of Dale. Their flags fly the seals of their country, their tents each matching the peoples of their country. It must be an intimidating sight to the people of Erebor, who wait behind solid gates. Tim's forces have been using their siege weapons, and as a result, the front walls of Erebor have been reduced to wreckage. Only the gate stands solid, even the massive dwarf statues have been rendered unrecognizable. King Thu paces in his golden hall, with kings Wacko, Dylwinator, and Riko discussing the current danger. Meanwhile, tim watches and laughs as his men prepare to attempt an entrance to the city. Watchmen keep the guard as day fades into night.

((Beep, if you see my other post it says I gathered all the crops. No food for them. Also I'm trying to make peace with MD and he hasn't got back to me yet, I don't see anywhere in which he says he'll support Tim. I vote we count him out until he comes on and makes a statement. Also I have more numbers than Tim, why does he have more armies than I? Dale's with me, and Esgaroth. And I contest the usage of wreckage to describe my walls. They can stand up to a lot.))

Thalin stops pacing, and turns to his men. "No word as yet from the bards or the White Council?" "None, sire". "Fundin, my friend. I want the ballistae firing double-quick at any battering teams who attempt entrance, I want flaming bolts fired at the siege weapons, and I want more men to the gate to barricade it. We've spent hundreds of years carving out these tunnels, and finally the excess is coming in use. All archers to the gate, and I want good volleys onto anyone who comes near. All other troops are to wait in the entrance hall. Prepare me my armor, page." He gestures to a beardless Dwarf.

ThuBioNerd, may our loyal troops fight for you. Our bagels and cream cheese are unrivaled in watermelon contests, and the teletubbys are good at making the other team laugh to death at their disgraceful faces.

((I do not accept that you had done that, as you made that action after I had already started the war. So, tim still has food. Also, it is unlikely that any messages would reach you while under siege. MD is supporting tim, that's final. It'd make more sense anyhow. Yes they can stand up, but they aren't all pretty and detailed anymore.))
Fundin would respond, "Sir, we do not have 'flaming bolts'. Also, the gates are all but destroyed. There is no longer much space for our archers to stand in, at least not a big enough space for them to get out a good shot. I suggest finding a new spot to shoot from, somewhere they don't know to bombard, perhaps even outside the city."

Thalin then went to the temple of Aule. Its great pillars soared high into the air, and green marble gleamed, trimmed with gold. The floor was a mosaic of enormous gems and precious stones. The walls were carved in reliefs, all life-size. They showed Aule crafting the fathers of the Dwarves, Eru blessing them with life. They showed Nogrod an Belegost, and Moria and the history of the Dwarves. Thalin knelt at the altar, a great gold anvil with a hammer atop it. He prayed.

"Mahal, duza un Khazad, enthu ag zu vedrukai mazalun . . . "

The translated version reads thus.

"Mahal, father of the Dwarves, ever have you guided my hand, and ever have I heeded you. All I have done I have done in your name, for the betterment of your children. But now my allies have turned against me, and they make war on my city so fair. And up to this point I have been so sure of myself. I always knew what must be done and how it must be accomplished. Now, however, I wonder - would it not be better if I were to surrender? Would my people forgive me if I allowed any more blood to be shed? Perhaps this is the will of the Valar, that the Dwarves shall perish at the hands of men - ironically assisted by Elves, and combating those who were always the purest of men. Would it not be better to surrender and risk my people being allowed to live, rather than subject them to such suffering? I see now why Eru was so grave when he granted us life, it was that he knew it would be our lot to suffer most of all races at the hands of others. Father Mahal, how shall my decision go? I beg of thee, give me some sign so I may know that your will is with us, or against us. I am your humble servant, your hands, as have all kings, and I am king only to do your bidding and guide these people. Assist me in this, or show me that you now favor men."

((I didn't see this thing, Beep. Not my fault.))

"We have fire, don't we? And we have bolts, don't we? So light the god damn bolts, and fire from where you see fit."

*The gods do not answer, yet. Perhaps Tim's prayers are blocking out your own. I would not give up home yet.
As for the fire bolts, fine, you can do that but it's not like a thing, bolts that shoot fire or anything.

((It's a bolt that's flaming. :3 ))

Thalin waits a minute, then turns and walks back to the throne room to deal with the war.

((I'm sorry but how are the ELVES as powerful as the shire? The Grey havens should be like a 5 as they are very skilled but have less numbers. We are not allied with Tim and are staying neutral. ))

The fields surrounding Dale keep quiet, no armies of Agorin's forces are to be seen.
A gold breeze blows over the meadows and through Mirkwood forest, but still, no men wielding banners of Gondor, Rohan, or the other united forces.

((Um, ok, that happened.))

((we got dis. sjoerdtim needs 3 times as many troops to win a siege atleast. we have over his number
but now the question is. could I have gotten a Oliphant/mumakil inside the dwarf city I doubt I could. dwarves gates aren't big enough ?))

It's because the powergaming piece of pork is using supposed secret entrances from the timhe "rebuilt Erebor". I refuse to capitulate.

The silence seems to continue, when in the distance, east of Dale, a group of about 5.000 Haradrim marches towards the city, with an aprox amount of 15 Mûmakil, and Andrewcramer on the strongest Mûmakil leading the forces. Out of the 5000 about 4500 are ground troops walking behind the Mûmakil, and about 35 of ride each Mûmakil. The Haradrim horn blows, and they start the charge even though heavily outnumbered by the 50.000 enemy forces.

((Never said that, I'm not making anything up and I won't use anything not supported by movies or books.))
