They have given in! Trolls are now realistic! We cant sprint!
Gone are the days when you would see a Troll zooming at the speed of light round the corner in Moria.
Gone are the days when a Troll could overtake a sprinting archer.
Gone are the days when a Troll could get up the bridge to the gate at Helms Deep.

Now for the new age in which there is literally 0 hope if a Troll comes into contact with a moderately skilled archer.
In which it will take approximately 9 years for a Troll to navigate Minas Tirith.
In which a troll will no longer be able to get to any flag when there is no cover.

Perhaps we could have some equalising features? Like faster rock reload time? More resistance? Better weapon?
The biggest thing would be immunity to archer knockback. Ignore everything I have said, just make trolls immune to archer knockback.
 
Now, troll requires skill and strategy instead of "noobish" rambo tactics in which you blindly charge into a place and kill everything in sight. Also, when having swiftness, they will no longer be able to catch up.

In my opinion, this nerf is just what many of us have been wanting. If you encounter an archer, do not be foolish and try to charge it. Even with sprint, the troll was a no more difficult target than it was if it were walking.

troll is already a strong melee class.
It was supposed to be this slow but it was bugged out,
maybe adding kb resistance would be realistic but idk :/

We gave the archer the advantage of being faster than this tank, now give trolls no knock back from arrows.

Trolls are shock units. They are supposed to be a hammer that is strategically deployed at a right time, not as a do-it-all class. Other classes such as regular orcs exist for a reason, in this case providing a supporting role by clearing enemies that easily kill them. Trolls vs archers are definitely going to lose just like tanks vs a whole squad of soldiers with Javelins are. EW is not only about individual skill but also about teamwork.

In short, I think its perfectly balanced. The main flaw in thinking is that you shouldn't be attacking the archers yourselves, you should be letting other peeps handle them while you handle other enemies that you can kill better. Also trolls aren't supposed to cap, again they should be used in a shock/supporting role, the main 'grunts' are still the orcs.

Again in this case the use of combined arms is important. If gates can be broken so easily, nobody would build them in the first place as they would be massive useless investments. Have orcs go with the trolls to protect them or act as meat shields (with a rotating arrangement far less orcs die), and perhaps go round and launch sneak attacks if necessary.

Once again trolls aren't supposed to be soloing.
 
i think that something like -25% knockback would be fine. nothing major like removing knockback from arrows.

and have a hitbox the size of Texas.
 
You can't just "disable knockback", at least I can't.
Trolls can still throw rocks that kill someone in one hit, so they're still strong enough to kill any class.
Also, you seem to forget that trolls can take an insane amount of damage before they die, and when teaming with other trolls can be a force almost impossible to be reckoned with.
