As Pyrus took Azura's hand he felt a hazy connection as she powered up and she transported him through space. Within a millisecond he was in a new place. He looked around and saw nothing but debris, rubble, salted dirt, molten rock and ash for miles and in the distance dark ashy mountains. He saw a huge volcano, overflown with cooled rock and turned into a gigantic mountain. He saw scattered bones, dusted remains of fossilized weapons and derelict armor. He had heard of this place. Mordor. The Land of Shadow.
Azura lightly let go of his hand and turned to the isolated abyss, "He's here now, my Lord."
Pyrus could easily surmise what was about to happen, but what could he do? Was this a trap? Was the Dark Lord here to kill him? Was Azura enslaved or working alongside him?
He felt a thickening of the air. The atmosphere itself grew colder. Then he felt it. That presence. He had felt it during the War of Wrath, during the island when they released the Black Enemy. He felt the power. The absolutism. The overwhelming majesty of him. He saw the air before his eyes begin to shift and the dust stir. Then a huge, menacing figure appeared, towering over him. A dark mountain with eyes like a flame that withers with heat and pierces with a deadly cold. He cast a shadow over Pyrus and looked down upon him. Yet, his form was beautiful in a way. The power. The smoldering intensity of him. The self-confidence and charm. His face was not as the legends said, he was not a shadowy monstrosity nor a flaming iron. He was flesh, alive, smiling like Pyrus would in the forges of Aule when he learned to forge his own hammer.
"Do you seek life, young one?" Morgoth spoke. His voice surprisingly pleasant and calm. Not cruel or harsh. Not with malcontent or malice. Not cold or angered. Pleasant and calm.

Deslan was already in an alcove which shielded him, mostly from the weather. Would he attempt to jump the cliff walls like a monkey and risk certain death in the maelstrom flashflood or remain in the alcove and wait out the flood? Perhaps nap?

Cardiloc found himself drift into sleep before he had an answer. Yet, an answer did come.
"To escape this prison you must use the runes, tap the words 'key' and 'gate' to unlock a passageway, Cardiloc. That is how we escaped from Morgoth's prison. The other runes will electrify you and harm you if you lay a finger on them. And some might be traps. Be careful as well, these may be part of that fool's plan. Perhaps it is a trap. He is intelligent and cunning and a cunt at that, so be prepared for anything. Those runes may be a trap or may not work. Or maybe they will and the passage that shall open is trapped. You get the point, kid. Was that helpful or what? Can I get a 'Ilian is the best'?" The previous Hybrid Shifter spoke into Cardiloc's unconscious mind.
