VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

As Pyrus took Azura's hand he felt a hazy connection as she powered up and she transported him through space. Within a millisecond he was in a new place. He looked around and saw nothing but debris, rubble, salted dirt, molten rock and ash for miles and in the distance dark ashy mountains. He saw a huge volcano, overflown with cooled rock and turned into a gigantic mountain. He saw scattered bones, dusted remains of fossilized weapons and derelict armor. He had heard of this place. Mordor. The Land of Shadow.

Azura lightly let go of his hand and turned to the isolated abyss, "He's here now, my Lord."

Pyrus could easily surmise what was about to happen, but what could he do? Was this a trap? Was the Dark Lord here to kill him? Was Azura enslaved or working alongside him?

He felt a thickening of the air. The atmosphere itself grew colder. Then he felt it. That presence. He had felt it during the War of Wrath, during the island when they released the Black Enemy. He felt the power. The absolutism. The overwhelming majesty of him. He saw the air before his eyes begin to shift and the dust stir. Then a huge, menacing figure appeared, towering over him. A dark mountain with eyes like a flame that withers with heat and pierces with a deadly cold. He cast a shadow over Pyrus and looked down upon him. Yet, his form was beautiful in a way. The power. The smoldering intensity of him. The self-confidence and charm. His face was not as the legends said, he was not a shadowy monstrosity nor a flaming iron. He was flesh, alive, smiling like Pyrus would in the forges of Aule when he learned to forge his own hammer.

"Do you seek life, young one?" Morgoth spoke. His voice surprisingly pleasant and calm. Not cruel or harsh. Not with malcontent or malice. Not cold or angered. Pleasant and calm.

Deslan was already in an alcove which shielded him, mostly from the weather. Would he attempt to jump the cliff walls like a monkey and risk certain death in the maelstrom flashflood or remain in the alcove and wait out the flood? Perhaps nap?

Cardiloc found himself drift into sleep before he had an answer. Yet, an answer did come.

"To escape this prison you must use the runes, tap the words 'key' and 'gate' to unlock a passageway, Cardiloc. That is how we escaped from Morgoth's prison. The other runes will electrify you and harm you if you lay a finger on them. And some might be traps. Be careful as well, these may be part of that fool's plan. Perhaps it is a trap. He is intelligent and cunning and a cunt at that, so be prepared for anything. Those runes may be a trap or may not work. Or maybe they will and the passage that shall open is trapped. You get the point, kid. Was that helpful or what? Can I get a 'Ilian is the best'?" The previous Hybrid Shifter spoke into Cardiloc's unconscious mind.

Pyrus would visibly pale, his once tan skin becoming silver in color. In his shock he dropped the spear and turned to Azura pointing at her "You, him?" He managed to say before he turned to face Morgoth "I fought against you, I killed your soldiers, my brothers and sisters died fighting against you. All my life I have learned to oppose you and everything you stand for. Yet still my kin work for you and you offer me solace. Why? After everything, why do you offer me a new life?" He would question him.

"Yeah thanks Illien, didn't catch your name before." Cardiloc thought to himself, he urged to wake. "Have you had dealings with this trickster in the past?" He questioned the Shifter subconsciously.

Sigeric paced around the perimeter of the pit, deep in thought. Those runes... ...Was the Trickster somehow affiliated with Morgoth? It did not make sense. Ilmare had served Morgoth, and yet she had opposed the Trickster. Perhaps he had only placed those runes to get inside their heads. A red herring of sorts.

Morgoth watched him curiously, "Becuase you are like me. You just want freedom, no?"

"Not this specific one. But I swear he is familiar. Something about him is off. I remember a couple of tricksters in Angband who tortured us and wove fantasies in our minds but this one. This one is incredibly powerful. Maybe he swallowed a magical artifact?" Ilian said to Cardiloc. The boy's body refused to let him wake but he did manage to get a personal one on one with the previous Hybrid Shifter.

Dimitri fell asleep in a drunken haze. Daugo was also pretty buzzed after some of the pipeweed. Sigeric saw his friends going to sleep. Even Marco had curled up into a ball and was napping in a corner. Perhaps rest would do him well? And anyway if they were to break out they'd need their strength.

"It cant be, maybe marco didnt pay attention?" Iver thought to himself as he sat, leaning on the wall. But the more he thought about it, the more it made more sense. The group never called Vlad in his name, they always ignored one of them and most important of all. As he ran a memory check he realized that Vlad wasnt with him on the boat, he suddenly appeared on the beach when........ Hazi got stoned for the first time.
"So im going crazy" He thought to himself as he closed his eyes and listned to the rest of the group answering the questions and falling down one by one.......
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the trickster left Iver opened his eyes. Vlad wasnt here, maybe he got rid of him?
"So sig, are we escaping or what?"

Sigeric detested the idea of giving up and falling asleep without any actual attempt at escape, yet he admitted to himself that a bit of rest was necessary to maintain his strength and wit. He found an isolated spot near the wall of the cell, and tried to fall asleep, subconsciously seeking guidance from the previous Guardian Shifter.

The pipeweed had given him such a good time that he had no need for anything more than some rest at the moment. And so, curling up, he falls asleep in a somewhat obstructive corner of their cell, dreaming of his boys playing with Rob Newleaf.

Sigeric did not receive any memories or visions from the previous shifter. Instead he had a dream. The same dream. The dream he had seen on the island. He remembered it. The dark figure, his future self's death, the destruction, the death, the apocalypse, the sky was blackened and the golden fields of the Pelennor littered with corpses. It haunted him.

Grimnir walked over to Iver and broke his nose. That didn't put him to sleep, so he kicked him in the balls and right-hook'd him. Iver slept like a baby.

"Azura and many others have come to join my side. They are sick and tired of the hypocrisy, the orders and the lies of the Valar. They just want freedom, like us. We're united by a common goal. We'll take the place of the Valar and make whatever rules we want. You can be free to roam the world, to build your own contraptions, to explore yourself. All you have to do is join our crusade. Our cause for freedom from the tyranny of the Valar. Don't you want that, Pyrus?" Morgoth asked him, extending a large hand to the Maia. Morgoth was nearly eleven feet in height but that did not matter. The legends spoke of the Valar being able to reach sizes even larger than dragons like Glaurung.

Sigeric's nightmare ended when his eyes opened. He heard running water and smelt something fresh...baked goods? Looking over to the middle of the pit was a strawberry cake, a couple of muffins and cupcakes surrounding it and a bucket of water along with some goblets that were empty and cleaned. They all began to awake to the fresh smells of breakfast.

"I'm loving this Trickster guy," says Daugo as he takes a muffin while stuffing his mouth with strawberry cake. "All I'm missing is my family," he says, looking emotionlessly at Dimitri.

Iver decided to do what only Iver knew how to do. He grabbed two goblets and used them to take a huge piece of the cake, taking it to his place. He didnt feel like talking after the last beating.

"I." He hesitated looking back at Azura then back at Melkor registering what he said and promised. He then looked back on his punishment, his sole duties, what the Valar promised and said to him. He was hunted down for nothing. It was the shifters fault he was in trouble. He knew is choice. He would grasp Morgoths hand and say "I will join your crusade, I know where the shifters head and their allies are almost worn thin. They plan to kill you, however they are broken and can easily be manipulated." He said before hesitantly askingg "My lord, may I ask you something?"

Ha'zi yawned and stretched his arms as he woke up, filled with energy from a good nap, to a wonderful aroma of food. Fully captured by the smell of the wonderful meal, Ha'zi goes over to the treats and begins eating.

"What..." Thoruk takes a break to sniff around and get the godlike smell of fresh breakfast into his nose. He opens his eyes completely and sees a variety of food they could eat. "In ma dream those runes ment pain... so what is this about? What kinda dark magic is this?" He shakes his head just to be sure he isn't sleeping anymore "Actual food? Not the shrak I expected to get from that scumbag..." he thinks, still not sure if he should take something "I bet there's something wrong with that food, maybe something in it that makes us follow his orders?" He shakes his head once more as his stomach starts to grumble "Aye... I'll take something anyway, have to get ma strengh back" he addes in thoughts as he sits down next to Daugo and grabbes what he could get.

In the ale-addled mind of Dimitri, he thought about what he wanted to do. Becoming a hermit was an attractive prospect, as was rejoining the Gondorian army. But he believed himself destined for something greater. Perhaps he was fit for Archo-.

Dimiti woke up to the fresh smell of pastries and pleasant cakes and asks, "What's for breakfast?"

"You may, Pyrus." Azura shifted uncomfortably in the background.

The sweets and delights were amazing. Utterly amazing. It was like they came out of the gates of Valinor themselves. The Trickster had a serious sweet-tooth and it was majorly paying off. They all felt satisfied with the meal. But they were a bit dehydrated and they needed some of that sweet water. Iver, had stolen two goblets and used them to eat the cake so they were down by one.

"Iver lad" Thoruk says, still enaugh food in his mouth. "Could you hand over some of that stuff lad? I'm pretty thirsty, ya know? And a'don't wonna fight bout this over here, I'd be proud if a could get a few sips, ya know?" he asks his friend as he nods towards him.
