VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

”Berethor.” Tytus spoke re-assuredly to the Armoured Giant. It took one step forward, then another, moving to the left of the group, around to the back of the Gorgoroth Fortress. He didn’t take his eyes of them. The Mimic Giant followed, trustingly following the Armoured.

Celeborn roused the elves, “Onward to the Champion of Valinor!” And marched towards Tulkas in the distance with Glorfindel at his side. Karstir and Harros set Dimitri down next to Sigeric’s foot.

“You’ll be safe here, okay.” Karstir pat Dimitri’s back softly and took off after Lord Celeborn, Harros following her.

Marco and Thoruk stood, waiting with Sigeric and Cardiloc.

”I will play no part in this deception. If we lower ourselves to this standard of warfare than we are no better than Morgoth himself.” He sat back and examined Elladan’s burned body. The elf had been unconscious since Pyrus’ foot pounded his skull. His skin was blistered and blackened. ”Set me down and I’ll help the elf.”

Túrin shook his head and muttered something in Quenya. Eonwë’s natural scowl deepened.

Ha'zi chuckled at his words. It was unclear if it was from the ridiculousness of the situation or the words the person said at the end, but he chuckled anyways. "So, um, what shall I call you then?" Ha'zi asks, eager to pounce on the answer, for had he not said it would be revealed after he swore his oath? 12253360

The figure scratched his ear, ”You may refer to myself as Mandos. Many do. My true name is Námo.”

”But we should not dwell on introductions, Mister Mor. You must heed my every word, so take note. Morgoth, what must be done to him?” He asked the boy, inquisitively raising his eyebrows.

16315828

"Hm, alright, 'Mandos.' And I was just about to ask that, too. You say he is not the true Enemy along with Manwe, then what shall be done with him? Morgoth still poses a threat, and he has Iver, experiencing who knows what kind of torture in those dungeons, if he's even alive. What should we do about that?" Ha'zi said, fists clenched in fury at the thought of what horrors Iver is experiencing. 12253360

”You will leave it to fate. Iver’s journey is long and arduous. It does not end in Morgoth’s dungeons. Do not think of him or the others. Only think of your oath, Mister Mor. And that oath is to save Arda. To do that Morgoth must be kept alive. He is the only one who can defeat Manwë Súlimo and is among the ten beings in existence that can fight the true Enemy. Nine now that Erú has abandoned us. And of those nine, the Aratar, the First Beings in creation, made with the primordial powers of the Eternal Flame, Morgoth is the most powerful. He must, at all costs, be kept alive. And you, Mister Mor, must do this. Even if it means choosing between the life of your friends and family or Morgoth. You must chose Morgoth. If you do not, then all your friends, families, even every other family in the world, shall come to an end. Do you understand? If Morgoth dies, then there shall be none to stand against the true Enemy. Now, I ask you, will you give your heart for Morgoth? Will you chose him over a friend, say, Dimitri or Thoruk?” Mandos asked, gloomily.

16315828

What? Give his heart for Morgoth? The man that started all of this? The torture of the Karoltai, probably tortured those other shifters, too, Sauron, this slaughter, and the island gave concrete proof that Morgoth had done, and was still doing, horrific acts. And Mandos wanted Ha'zi to choose him over his friends? What?!

"I.. I'm sorry, but I don't think I could do that, Mandos. Yes, it's part of the mission and has to be done as you already said, but I'm unsure if I could really do that. I don't think I could do that to my friends. Like you already said before, you chose me because of, for instance, my choice to run back and get Iver. And now this goes against that, leaving Dimitri or Thoruk to whatever fate would happen if I chose Morgoth over both of them. Also, why do you think he would help us? Why would Morgoth, of all people,
keep back this Darkness, after everything he's done and is still doing?" 12253360

”I cannot explain that to you. If I did it would jeopardize the fate of Arda. You must keep Morgoth alive at all costs. Otherwise, we are lost. Everyone you love will be lost. Billions of lives. Eá itself will be consumed. What is more important to you, Mister Mor? Your friendship with one person or the friendships of billions around this world? If you chose to save someone like Dimitri over Morgoth, then Dimitri and all those you call family shall suffer a worse fate than death, including yourself. You must put your relationships behind you. Forget about them. Forget about your loves. Forget about your dreams. Forge forward, only forward, to victory. Save Morgoth, save Arda. I know you can’t possibly understand but I too hate him, Mister Mor. More so than most other beings. I have watched countless friends die, powerless to stop him. I have observed millions of futures where he gruesomely eradicates the Children of Illúvatar. I have seen it all. But he must be kept alive. The only future where Arda survives is one with him in in it. Understood, Mister Mor?”

Mandos gripped his shoulder tighter and stared into the boy’s eyes. Ha’zi saw behind the sleepy, half-shut lids a strange determination and seriousness which further reinforced Mandos’ words.

16315828

Ha'zi stares back, the same determination from his oath still flickering in his eyes. "I.. I understand. More deaths if I don't do it. Can't let that happen. I'll trust you on that, Mandos, even though I don't really know you and your acquintance are yet. But there's one thing you mentioned that irked me. When did you lie to me?" He asks, his determination fading a bit, his confidence faltering as he awaits an answer from the powerful figure. 12253360

Mandos breathed in heavily, then exhaled. As he did his body turned to smoke and reformed as Lod Mor.

“Hello, Ha’zi.” It was his father’s voice. “I hope you forgive my deceit on the island. I was leading you away from the others and needed to distract you.”

The figure became the black smoke once more and re-assembled as Mandos.

”You understand why I did it, don’t you Mister Mor?” The voice had returned to the clear-cut cadence.

16315828

Iver quickly pulled his hand away, "you know, it was really hard not to walk into you two having sex since you did it all the time. There was not a single guy in the camp who didn't hear your moans and saw you two getting yourself some 'private time'." Iver said as he quickly grabbed his finger with his second hand to warm it up.

”Those weren’t my moans.” Miriel smiled, her face reddening at the memory.

14628767 15756962

"SHUT UP" Ha'zi screams as he bitch slaps Miriel from miles away "Oh." Ha'zi mutters, feeling like an anvil was dropped on him. He was stunned. All the Southron was trying to do on the island was get back to his father, and he remembered clearly that when he saw his figure that night... he skipped a beat. He was so overwhelmed with joy at seeing him... and Mandos tricked him. His father wasn't ever there. Lod was dead back in Harad, probably discarded in the desert and buried by piles of sand. "I, uh, understand why you did that." Ha'zi said, hiding his anger. "You needed me to get the Warrior from Keldar, right? So the others would have a chance against the Destroyer?" 12253360

Mandos bowed his head.

”Indeed. You are learning. You will soon realize your plan in the grand scheme of fate. But for now, your mission should you chose to accept it is to protect Morgoth. Kill anyone who tries to kill him. Do it discreetly. You must become a monster in order to guarantee the future of Arda. Swallow your morals. Kill them. Bury them in a hole then torch and salt the region that the hole exists in. You will kill. Innocents. Soldiers. Men, women, children. Orcs, Karoltai, even Ainur. You will become hated by the world. You’re not meant to be a hero, Ha’zi. For there are no heroes in this world. Only villains of differing colors. But, what you will do, is provide the future to continue for those who live in this world. My friend shall come to you soon. Do not fail. My brother, Tulkas is going to fight him soon. He will surely try to kill Morgoth. You must stop him. Do you have any questions? We’re running short on time, Mister Mor.”

16315828

"WHAT?" Ha'zi shouts in disbelief. "Kill everyone that wants to kill him? That's every fucking person here in Mordor! You want me to kill them all over this? Why not just go straight to the damn Vala and deal with him then instead of all this mindless killing? And stop TULKAS?!? How is that even possible? He's smashing Sauron, SAURON, to bits, and you think I can stop him? How?" He asks rapidly, not even thinking as they come spilling out. 12253360

Iver then asked her "so, what's the name of my roommate?"
And after a short moment "wait, is sauron alive? Wasn't he killed in the great war?"

Mandos eyes darkened and for a moment he doubted himself. Was this truly the boy to save Arda? His predecessor failed that precise job. But he had done everything as it should have been. He had planned this from the start. Why was this child so stubborn? Could he not put the lives of all over the lives of a few? Would this end just as he had foreseen the countless failures? No. The boy had to shape up and drop his self-righteous attitude for something more practical.

”If Morgoth is in danger, you must stop it at all costs. You don’t necessarily have to kill them all. Incapacitate, manipulate, deceive, misdirect, do what must be done. You understand the stakes. If you have to kill all your friends, you will do it, so that the friends you make in the future survive. Otherwise, all of them will die. I’m short on time, Mister Mor. I cannot explain to you how to stop Tulkas. I cannot interfere, as I have stated. Niether can the one you call the Trickster. I will contact my friend and he will rendezvous with you. I cannot give you the details but he will help. Until he arrives, protect Morgoth, do not speak of this to anyone and continue on your oath, Mister Mor. You know the stakes that lay ahead. Good bye.”

The dream began to falter, everything around Ha’zi, the desert that stretched for miles, was slowly sucked into a black abyss.

”That’s Thule. And she isn’t your ‘roommate’.” Miriel spoke, “She’s in some sort of sleep. We all were.” Her finger raised and flattered in each direction indicating the prison.

“And according to what I was told before I met your friends in Gondor, he was. But then again, Master Sauron’s up and walking about now. So who knows what the truth is?” She laughed a bit at that statement.

“You know, I am sorry for that whole mess back there....”

In the darkness of his mind, Ha'zi yet again felt scared. Scared by the position he was now in. Would he really do this? Protect this monster of a man named Morgoth? It was disgusting. The idea of stopping people from harming or killing such a foul, despicable deity made him hurl. Could he even bring himself to do it? It would be terrifying, no, gut-wrenching to have to willingly bring down a blade on his allies, on his friends. Even if he didn't have to kill them, it made him sick.

And scared. Truly scared of this mighty role thrust upon him and the consequences of it. Mandos said the world would hate him, his family would hate him. Could Ha'zi truly bring himself to face such hatred from them? Could he really kill one of them? Kill Cardiloc, kill Iver, kill Daugo, kill all of them. If the need to occured, could Ha'zi really do it?

Unfortunately, he had to stop them. He accepted that cursed role. But it was too important to turn down. He had to do it. Stop them. Harm them. Even bring himself to... to kill them. To be a monster, to be... to be like Osman.

Ha'zi felt like shit right then and there. He didn't want to keep doing this. All he wanted was this death to stop. And now he was the fucking bringer of it! It was so shitty enough to make him envy his limbless ways. To be unable to harm or kill. To be useless and not have some role in a grand scheme.

Then, Ha'zi had an idea, and swore another secret oath to himself before letting the darkness take him. He wouldn't kill. Wouldn't dare it. Just incapitate. That's all. No killing. None. He, Ha'zi Mor, would not kill for Melkor. 12253360

I've sighed, "i believe that you didn't really had a choice here. Sorry for being a dick, I know it's not an excuse but I've been through a lot lately. You know this whole turning into a giant freak to fight other giant freaks because the valar have some family issues" he said before sitting down. "Shout at me if anything interesting happen" he says before he put his head against the floor and tried to fall asleep.

”It’s fine,” Miriel nodded and laidback as well, listening to the thuds and heaves that were resounding through the walls of the Fortress. The fighting was still happening and her subconscious drifted to Ha’zi. How he was. Was he even alive. How he felt for her now that she had betrayed them. She sighed and shut her eyes.

All for Aranel. Ha’zi had defeated her with sheer brutality. The same brutality she had. It was her Giant Power. He had stolen it or used it in some way. She started to connect the dots. That was why the Warrior Giant was so valuable. It made sense. If he could steal her ability. Then he could take all of theirs. And what then? He would be unstoppable. She shivered at the thought of an indomitable Ha’zi. The kid was sweet and had a good heart. He shouldn’t have to bear that weight. That power. No one should’ve. Not him. Not her. Not them all. And especially not Aranel. Her eyes opened as she gazed about the prison cells. Which one of them would hold her horrible sister? Which one had the kinslayer? They were all murders. Some of them, like her, were mass-murderers for that matter. But none of them had killed one of their own. Let alone thirteen. Thirteen damn powered individuals killed by Aranel. It was a mess.

The guilt and hate and love and all the other emotions swelled up within her as she thought more of her sister. Aranel...why did it have to be her?

Miriel’s eyes shut once more.

14628767

———

Ha’zi’s eyes opened.

He was on the battlefield and saw that his arms had yet to grow back. They were still stumps but significantly had grown from his shoulders down to his elbows.

He smelt like shit and heard the fight occurring over the hill.

16315828

Daugo was satisfied, he seemed to have touched a nerve... but had he gone too far? He felt a pang from his conscience. 'Dammit,' he thought, knowing what he was going to do. He knew all too well these fits of kindheartedness that overtook him from time to time.

After a minute of riding in silence after the trail, he sighed. "Look, we've gotten off on the wrong foot. I've been an arsehole, we both have. I'm truly sorry about your brother , and about all the countless lives that were thrown away today. It was wrong." He looked at Arandil's eyes. "I will help you deal with the shifter, however I can, but I was not lying before. I cannot transform again in some time."
[rule]
The brute actually had half a brain. That, or his counter-taunts were mindless instinct. Either way, they were irksome, but meant nothing. It was good that he was starting to talk more than he was fighting. Wait. No!

He howled as the Vala smashed into the shower of rocks where he had been. Five hundred meters he went into the sky, regarding the entire battlefield from his lofty vantage point. He saw his Karoltai a little way off, actually talking with the Enemy Giants. He made a mental note to punish them when and if he returned from this. 'No, Mairon. It is not a question of whether you will survive; it is a question of whether you will beat Tulkas or retreat into hiding. Like always.'

"Tell me, Tulkas," he whispered into the air as he fell, "why are you so undyingly loyal to a being that has done nothing for you since he sent you into this forsaken world?". He assumed the shape of a crow, slicing through the rank skies of Mordor with black-feathered wings.
