VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"Yet, it was what pushed them off the edge. We all have something bad we want to do, i for example struggled not to strangle Hazi in his sleep for being such an idiot or behead Sigric for killing my father. However we also have that little voice in our head that tells us 'no you cant do that its bad' and usually it stop us from doing stupid shit. Your brothers can be saved and you can save them" Iver said.
"So, you are gonna do something about it? Save whats left of your family or you are just gonna sit there and do the exact thing you now cry about?" He asked him.

The Trickster's jaw tensed then relaxed. "And what exactly would I be able to do about it, Iver? What's your genius plan on defeating the strongest of my brothers?"

"I insist." Vardamir said it more as a statement than a request. He fired the firework into the air and it blasted into a black haze. "All units, mount up and ride east until we hit the Kingsroad. Maintain your guard." He then turned to Sigeric, Ha'zi, "Watch those four." He nodded at squadron ten then whistled at Rambo, "You! Escort the prisoner." He pointed at the Serpent Shifter whose body was still steaming yet only slightly in little wisps of heat.

The man answered his superior. “Aye sir.” He’d walk over to his horse and secured the blade within the saddlebags; after this he’d mount up. The serpent shifter secure on his horse.

"So, you want me to send my brothers against each other in a bloodbath that would likely rip apart Arda?" The Trickster laughed, "That's exactly what I was trying to prevent with Mandos."

The man's body wriggled with each step the horse took. Soon the entire company of rangers was mounting up. They had set out with fifty-six men supplemented by two dozen men on patrol through the forests and squadron ten and now they were down to thirty-three excluding Belzagar's men. Many of his comrades had died to those bastards. And the elf was to blame. Although, how he arrived here was unclear.

A lone rider approached from the east and hailed Vardamir.

"Sir, I've found this man and kept him away from the fighting!" Helvion proclaimed.

"Who is he-" Vardamir asked as Helvion's horse turned sideways to reveal Cardiloc, precariously leaning on the ranger's back. The Dunlending was much older, possessing a fierce beard, rough strewn long hair that reached his shoulders and had become noticeably more muscular. His eyes were shut and he wore simple tattered brown overalls.

Rambo looked back at the shifter and then towards the new arrival. He looked on curiously at Helvion and then on at his passenger.

Dimitri tries to rip the bag off his head and escape the heat by backpedalling. He tries to morph the front of his body into something more heat resistant."It burns, oh Ulmo, it burns." Dimitri groaned. "Why must Flori forsake us?" he continued, invoking an old Forochelrim name for the sun, or more specifically, Arien.

Hering would use the impact of him falling to hide his grunt of pain from landing on his wrists. However he could feel his left hand was free, and despite his wrists beefing possibly broken his fingers were not. While laying on his back he'd start to use his fingers to continue working on the knot.

"now that you are saying it like this, it seems we do need a new plan. However unless we plan on killing both of your brothers I have no clear idea" I we said in response.

Dimitri's entire body shifted into stone. The heat continued to burn around him and the bag was incinerated. He saw those dreaded Scions of Manwe, the same bastards who attacked them at Bree, then at Rivendell and again at the Adorn, and amongst them was their leader, the one who abducted his adoptive parents. Mineltar. The Maiar surrounded Dimitri, but made no move to restrain him as the earth around them all surged with flame.

The ground shook violently and Dimitri heard an uproar as he was bolted into the sky in a fireball containing them all. Just as his stone body left the ground, he heard a call in the distance.

"Dimitrius!"

The roar of the flames drowned it out and he felt dizzy as the world turned inside out. The next thing Dimitri knew he smashed into the earth, rather lightly, but still enough to crack his left shoulder, the stone pieces trickling off him. The heat dissipated and around him the Maiar made their move, rushing the Forochelrim whilst he was confused.

"We can't kill them. Not that it is impossible. But mostly because we need them." The Trickster justified this with a swing of the finger, "Mandos warned me of the darkness that is coming. If we are to face it in any way, both of them are needed to fight it. It was Melkor who banished the ancient and Manwe who chained it with Aule's aid. Illuvatar, of course, supported each movement and was at the forefront of the war, however..."

The two men rushed Hering quicker than he could've imagined. Before he could even slip out his hand, Endo grabbed his left and restrained it whilst Berethor kept him held down on the chair.

'Oh, I see,' Daugo thought, as he felt the invisible hand of destiny leading towards a single point. He smiled. "I would be willing to take part in this diplomatic mission, sir".

"If that bugger doesn't return soon I'll head out and get him back here, so don't worry lad." Thoruk would say heading outside.

Dimitri pushed himself up, struggling to regain himself. He remembered a feeling of burning and being lifted off the ground, someone shouting, and then being slammed into the ground.

On your feet, soldier! C'mon, you maggot, don't make this Linhir!
A new voice? This was une-Yes it is, now stop thinking about it and fight!

Old instincts, drilled into him by his grim training sergeants in Gondor, kicked in. He cleared his mind and focused on the tunnel in front of him. If he cleared it, he could stay alive. He knew the biggest threat wasn't that little captain wazzock, but rather the Maia he commanded. He just had to whittle them down and wait to see if help came. He will come, that voice sounded like yer master Teli!

Hering wouldn't allow himself to be taken down once again. He'd strain his head forced and go to bite the closest body part of either man but aiming for the armored, with his left he'd start to thrash it around to get it out of the Serpents grasp. A voice in the back of his head told him to fight, never give up! Hering was a black ranger! Grunting he'd also throw his body against the roped restrains.

Shaking his head, he turned away from the grotesque arrest to face Helvion and see what the matter was. His eyes widened exceptionally, and his breath stilled sharply. “Cardiloc… ?” Ha'zi said aloud in disbelief, peering over the unmoving form. He absolutely knew that this was his Dunlending friend, their long lost Hybrid shifter, but his mind was in such shock that all he could do was look the figure over in denial.

Despite it having felt like a lifetime, it was only 11 months since his disappearance. How could he have changed so drastically? What had happened to him? Where even was he? “Where… How… how did you find him?” Ha'zi finally asked as he broke the silence
, his gaze still not shifting away from the miracle before him.

"We need him for the festival and the continued training with the special forces," Colonel Eadwyn spoke up.

"Why would we send our most 'powerful giant' on a diplomatic mission? Isn't that a tad bit suspicious?" Ostopher remarked.

The General turned to Daugo. "Are you certain you want to take part in this endeavor?"

Berethor released him, screaming as Hering tore a chunk out of his arm like a wild animal. Endo's face went livid and he raised a fist to punch Hering.

"Uh, I saw him wandering around the field near the Armor." Helvion said. "Do you know him?"

"Is he a hostile?" Vardamir asked and two men reached for their blades in response.

Rambo had fastened the unconscious man's body to his horse. As the conversation ensued, he noticed the four men of squadron zero refusing to bandage Glorfindel as they tied him up and gagged the elf. The bolt in his back had pierced through his armor at an unusual angle and blood-soaked that portion of his body. Why hadn't they removed it and patched the wound?

Water dripped slowly in the darkness. The putrid rank aroma that wafted about the sewers rose to greet Tamara's nose as she entered the tunnels. They were small, quite small, perfect for her. The guards were all too tall to enter and the shortest would have to duck their heads down to manage to fit in. She, on the other hand, could traverse them with ease. One advantage of being relatively tiny.

A bag of coins she had taken from the tanner jiggled in her pouch next to the cold potato she stole from the granary. Today was a good day. She hadn't even been noticed. Now she could relax for the rest of the night and eat well.

"Do you mind if Pen and Garath tag along?" Lasser asked Thoruk on his way out. Then he turned to Arandil, "It seems like your friends have abandoned you to us. I suppose that you'll have to get comfy her."

"Illuvatar will not help us."

As Dimitri sprung to his feet, he realized he was no longer in the gardens of Lorien. Instead he was in some sort of courtyard with large walls rising around him. The score of Maiar that had kidnapped him tripled in size as many more appeared at the entrance to what appeared to be some sort of palace. He was completely surrounded.

"I doubt you'd dare to slay us, Dwarf." The taunt came from Mineltar who merely glanced at Dimitri, a look of slight irritation mixed with apathy over his features.
