VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"No bargaining with a Vala as such as myself son of Cardinoc. Do you accept the sacrifice you will inevitably make?"

[user avatar="https://cravatar.eu/helmavatar/UnusualBrit/74.png" name="UnusualBrit"]12700073[/user]

“I do not, nay. If this is to be my path, then I shall walk it alone, none others shall die for me. But if I must make the sacrifice in the future, I shall contact you again.” He decided.

"Then I see no other reason to be here. Good fortune to you, Cardiloc." Mandos did not bow in farewell.

[user avatar="https://cravatar.eu/helmavatar/UnusualBrit/74.png" name="UnusualBrit"]12700073[/user]

“Thank you.” Cardiloc nodded, before he envisioned the mountain top he had prayed to Mandos on and teleported back there.

Elves? Well, that's a surprise, Ha'zi supposed. He briefly wondered if Glorfindel was in their ranks, his message to the shifter still fresh in mind... Ha, no. That was a foolish thought. This was just a patrol of some sort. For now, Ha'zi quietly waited in the background while the negotiation unfolded, his eyes watching with slight caution as they held the new girl.
[rule]

"Shit, here's the knife-ears," Shin grumbled, and hastily set aside all weapons on him.
[rule]

"Called it," Galador muttered in turn, as they appeared in the wood. He, too, observed the elves' hold of the shifter girl in concern.

--------------------------------

"The King shall verify your claims. Sheath your arms and follow us. If you do not yield subservience, we shall know you are enemies to Eryn Lasgalen." The lead elf proclaimed. In response to this, the elves kept their bows trained on the Gondorians.

"Do as he says." Ostopher yielded. Keratos sheathed his sword, Furdin followed without hesitation and slowly the rest fell in.

"A wise choice." The elf commented as he freed Tamara and strode up to the commander, passing Daugo, who did not recognize him. He had fair hair and wore white robes under a golden plate. It was obvious he was someone of status or nobility.

"May I ask who you are?" Ostopher inquired to the elf.

"I am Haldir, Marchwarden of these forests. And you, mellon?"

"I'm not a melon." Ostopher's brow tensed.

"Mellon is the Elvish term for friend, mellon." Haldir smiled gently.

"Oh. Right." Ostopher forced a snicker, "Ostopher, commander of this regiment. We are on a mission for the King. It is our priority that it proceeds untroubled."

The two continued a discussion whilst the elves lead them off in one direction through the forest.

Telimekhtar stared at the young lady as if bewitched. "You...you..." His voice had become soft as a whisper and to Dimitri's dismay it appeared he was beginning to cry. "No...no...no..."

What the hell happened to his friend? Telimekhtar was still laying on the floor like a useless rag. Would he have to drag him along or could Dimitri try and make a break for it? But then again...why would he? Aule had sent him here for a reason. Although, he was unsure what it was only the passing of time could tell...

Tamara found herself strangely attracted to the giant man. Yet this was unlike anything before. It was almost magnetic. As if she were drawn to him like a moth to flame. However, before she could get any closer she felt Keratos touch her shoulder with his big paws. "Where'd you run off to, Lil' Lady?" His voice was filled with concern.

Ha'zi's overheard the conversations: both physical and mental as a stream of thoughts buzzed into his mind. Apparently, the elves were taking them to their capital. And that journey would take quite some time according to a couple of them. At minimum a few days if they were interrupted. Perfect. More time wasted. Yet those were not interesting at least to him. Instead he found himself closely watching the exchange between Dimitri and Telimekhtar as well as the way interchange of stares between the inexperienced Serpent Shifter and Celeborn's killer. The murderer went from determinedly seeking suicide to crying? What the fack.

For a brief moment, Ha'zi remembered Marco. And that really pissed him off. First Eonwe, then this bastard shows up and now he was reminded of the Tytus and Berethor abducting one of his oldest friends. A memory occurred to him.

"Bad trip, bro. Bad trip."

Those were Marco's words before he was crushed by Sigeric's crystal in Mordor. Who knows what they had done to his friend. And the desire to meet these prototypes increased tenfold.

------------------------------

Cardiloc returned to the mountain top. It was a relatively small one, a miniscule piece of the Ered Luin. It was calm and peaceful and not as snowy as the Misty and White Mountains. The view around him was marvellous. To the far north was the elven haven of Mithlond and to the south great plains and a minor forest, one where his ancestors had been driven to after the landing of those vile Numenoreans. And now the descendants of those Numenoreans were the prime combatants in a war against the Vala he was resigned to protect.

Morgoth.

The name was poison upon his mind.

[user avatar="https://cravatar.eu/helmavatar/UnusualBrit/74.png" name="UnusualBrit"]12700073[/user]

Cardiloc breathed out, what a strange world it was that he had to protect Morgoth. And what was Mandos’s price? What did he have to sacrifice? A hundred questions burned through the Dunlendings mind. He sighed and teleported away back to their safe-house in Bree.

No, this wasn't at all convenient, Ostopher had folded too easily. Daugo's brow furrowed as he envisaged further waste of time in their horizons. This would not do. He went over to his mule, mounted it quickly and spurred it to go fast enough for him to catch up to the two commanding officers.

[rule]
"We walked, m'lady, easiest way 'a travel in this stinkin' forest when you can't take the main roads safely. But I can make these maggots go as fast as ya 'orse there if need be, leastways in terrain like this," replied the big Orc, while his companions packed her belongings quickly and efficiently. They were ready to go by the time he had finished speaking.

[rule]
"Your Majesty should skin him alive, conniving weasel that he is," Undolog sneered, regarding the hapless Karoltai.

Iver stayed silent for a moment before opening his mouth, taking morgoth's comment as a demand for explanation, "I... I thought I was clever, I thought I could just tell you what you want to hear and escape, I thought I could outsmart you. I was wrong" Iver said and stopped, a tear ran down his cheek before he continued. "I lived as an oath breaker for a year, I learned the hard way what the consequences of breaking an oath are, and I can't take it anymore" Iver paused again let out a small weep. "please, master, I don't want to live like that anymore and I doubt death will save me from my suffering. Have mercy upon this foolish mortal and give me a second chance" Iver pleaded.

"Yes my lord" Vana would say

"Not more than half an hour" he'd answer with a cold voice. "Although it could've been hours" he mumbled, still sitting there. "Ya feeling better...?" Thoruk would ask, turning his head slightly.

----------

As the 'elves', as they called them, let her back down onto thw ground again without any fight she was a bit confused.

She looked at the one that held her before, a tall man as it seemed, almost looking a bit like a woman, or maybe he was one? He was a she? And these ears... they looked a bit strange. "So these are elves?... Thought they had wings.. hmpf" she'd mumble before recognizing that big man again, laying on the ground as it seemed.

Something about him was off. He realy felt familiar, but she had never seen this person in her life, or has she? "M-me? What do-" Tamara's question was cut short as she stared down the big man she could feel a hand on her shoulder and Keratos' voice. "I-I'm sorry Sir Keratos, but... well..." she wasn't even sure herself of why she walked away. "But the brawl between them was too much for me. And-and the fire and the lightning a-and..." she cut herself off, knowing she was overreacting a bit. "I'm sorry..." she would say to Keratos, but still starring down the big man on the ground.

Saddened by his comrade, but also curious in a grim fashion, Dimitri approached his warrior-brother, and in a soft voice, asked, "Teli, my brother, what is the matter? What did they do to you?"

Ranzolg have Undolg a look before raising his Morningstar slightly moving ever so slightly Incase they were commanded to attack the human
————————
Mirecyla shook her head “No need, I’ll give you rides.” She said honking back to when she first joined Sauron, the soldiers that served under him. Massive beasts and the possible fathers of all canines. The Werewolves. She pictured them clearly and started to give shape to then

Daugo caught up to them quite hastily.

The elf was walking alongside Ostopher whilst communicating over worldly news apparently.

"They...? She...I know her. That one," Telimekhtar made no move to indicate Tamara. It was clear enough to Dimitri of whom he spoke. "She...she should not be here. She is my own. Can you not see that Dimitri? Look."

But Dimitri could not see much. The girl was whisked away by some of those Gondorians, one extra burly one to be exact. An ox of a man which reminded Dimitri of that one slave from the island...what had his name been...Oscar or was it Osken?

"I need to speak to her. She should not be here." The Son of Tulkas remarked, determinedly.

"It is alright," Keratos realized the tone he took with her may not have been so nice for such a young lady to here and as such he warmed up to her. "Do not worry, no harm was brought upon your head. These elf folk seem much more accommodating than that one they called Glorfindel. But if it had been our foes..." He let that sit in the air for a moment before continuing, "Do not run away like that. Ever. Understood, Tam?"

---------------------------

"Urgh, no. But we don't have time to lose. One part of the solution was right in front of me. We need to secure her before she can be further mani-" She realized she was speaking her thoughts in front of the dwarf.

"I mean," Aranel quickly changed the subject, "I need to go back. My...um...friend is waiting for me. She's alone in these forests with those...ones."

--------------------

Morgoth heard Iver's pleas through the screeches of the flying giant. It was easy enough to understand. He himself had derived the beast's undulating tones from Black Speech, which all his servants recognized. He was about to smite the Dalishman there and then before one of his minions spoke their mind.

The Dark Lord sighed and blinked.

Undolog's lungs began to fill with water, she began to choke and drown, causing her to instantly fall to her blackened feet. The other Balrogs saw this and heard their master's voice.

"You would do well to remember your places. I did not ask for any counsel." Morgoth spoke without even turning around. "Before I even consider granting you salvation, you must come and kneel before me. Submit yourself to the true lord of Arda, insect." His words seared Iver's ears.

------------------

"And what of it?" Manwe said almost curious to the outcome of such an event.

--------------------

"AWUGHGJK!" Endo yelped as Cardiloc materialized in the kitchen right in front of him. The vision-seer had spent the majority of the day enjoying himself; relaxing on the furniture, resting over the bed, reading a novel written by some fat old hobbit about a damn mountain and some fat dwarves. It was quite the day. And just as he had been brewing a big ol' cup of tea, this big oafy barbarian wearing a damned fur coat looking like some royal savage appears out of thin air to scare the bejeebies out of him.

The cup of tea fell from Endo's hands and broke upon the ground, spilling boiling water over both men's feet. Endo fell back howling whilst Cardiloc felt the heat to a lesser affect as his healing took effect nearly immediately.

"I hate you." Endo squeaked whilst gripping his right foot in agony.

For the first time in forever, Teli used his real name, not that Nova Novogordianized "Dimitrius". Dimitri felt very emotional for a brief moment, but then realized he was being a little bitch. "We will talk with her, friend. But for now, recompose yourself, and be patient. The Elf may take anything sudden as a hostile move." he continued.

Cardiloc raised his eye brows for a moment, he stared down at his feet and sardonically said. “Ouch.” He then looked back at Endo and smirked. “Endo, you’ve got to get used to living with me, sudden teleportation in and out will happen, so be more careful with that strange hot liquid you were carrying; whatever it’s called. Anyhow, where’s Berethor and Endo, I’ve discovered some news.” He glanced around the room for them.

"Hullo! Haldir, right?" said Daugo, nonchalantly joining in. "A pleasure to meet you. I'm Lieutenant Daugo Burgins, jointly heading this mission. Forgive me if I don't dismount, I fear I may be a couple of heads too small to have a proper, eye-level conversation."

[rule]
Mirecyla found that there was no creature in this region that feared Sauron's werewolves or even remembered them. The best she could do was a deer somewhere nearby that was afraid of wolves, and a man a few miles away that still remembered the Wargs used in the War of the Ring.

Her hands grew hairy and grotesquely bloated. Seven of her fingers started twitching strangely and growing, until small limbs and a tiny head appeared on each. They yelped and bayed as their tails began to detach from Mirecyla's fingers, and with a pop, there fell to the ground seven Warg pups that were still growing rapidly. It took three minutes for them to mature into beasts capable of carrying the Orcs, and she was very, very tired by the effort.

"Blimey," said the Uruk.
"Ain't ever rid a Warg before," said one of the Orcs.
"Ya fuckin' will now," barked his superior, mounting one of her offspring savagely. "Whenever you're ready, m'lady."

[rule]
Drowning, drowning, all because of her stupid tongue. Undolog cursed her idiocy as she collapsed onto the ground, punished by her lord for speaking out of turn. "M-mercy," she sputtered. "Forgive me, O Lord, I'm sorry."

Iver left his shell of meat and stumbled down under the watch of the eyes, feeling their weigh on his soul even more without the protection of his giant. He would walk closer to Morgoth who smelt... like a fruit basket?
Iver caught the smell of the Maia blood that was spilled all over the ether and his mouth got wet. Feeling the drilling stare of Morgoth Iver could only hope that he will ignore his urge to consume Maiar blood as he bowed before him, now in his human form. "Oh Morgoth, the first and strongest of the Valar, who sees all and is all, the rightful successor of Eru, I seek pardon and forgiveness from my true Lord. Grant me safety and raise me from perdition" Iver would say, staying on his knees, tears in his eyes.

[rule]
"Pardon me but i don't know, perhaps Aule is trying to atone his sins against you" Vana would suggest

Tamara would look away from the big man and turned around to go with Keratos who seemed to have worried. "I-I'm sorry, I didn't ment to cause you trouble, I was just..." she stopped her excuse and let out a slight sigh of sadness.

She listened to Keratos' as they walked on, yet looking a bit of to the woods before hearing something about elves and one he called 'Glorfindel' "I remember that name... haven't I met him before? Hm... guess it was one of these guys I saved back then, maybe the one that died? That boy with the gorgeous blue eyes..." she would think, before beeing ripped out of her memories about that day by a 'Understood?'. "Jea, I understand." Tamara would say,not even knowing what Keratos said, but it seemed to give him some relief so it was the right answer to give.

--------------

Thoruk listened to her, yet paying more attention at throwing stones into the river. "Hold it, Lady." he'd say, not moving an eyebrow. "I might be a dwarf" he'd say, throwing a stone into the water with full force . "And I might not be as strong or as clever as you" he'd throw another stone, letting it jump over the water, towards the other side. "And I might not even be aware of how the future looks. But you-" he'd say turning around to her. "You are keeping something a secret from me, I can smell that, from even more distance than a rotten orc body, decaying in some corner, beeing devoured by wolfs."

He'd throw a last stone before turning completely towards here, meaning business as it seemed.
"Right in front of you, you said? Manipulated? You want to go back there lad?"

"Aye... you know, it's pretty easy, even for us dwarves, to count one and one together. I bet you mean that ugly thing that was with that guy with the red hair, mh? To be honest Aranel, we made a deal, aye? You bring me ma lads back from that camp and I lead you to Ha'zi and now, look where we ended now...." he'd say angrily.

"Ya know, I could just let ya walk back there and get slaughtered by them while I head towards the village and get ma friends and you enjoy your stay with this overpowered piece of orcshit and his companions.. I mean, three against one sounds fair to me." he'd say with a sarcastic smile.

"Or ya could finally tell me the truth. Who were these people? What do they want here? And what do YOU realy want?" he'd say with serious voice, after a short break, turning away from Aranel again, walking towards the river-shore his head looking down onto the ground.

"In this minute I could've been on ma way to Gondor to find this fucking Eonwe and this useless gem to get back my father..." he'd think, wanting to slice the river in half with wind to let out his anger like a madmann, not even moving a finger, but purely his thoughts, using his giant powers without the intuition to do so, waiting for an answer from the honesty in person, the lady herself, Aranel.

Ranzolg continued to move about, ready for any order.
——————————
Mirecyla panted and shook as the Werewolves grew and expanded. Climbing onto her horse with some difficulty she would address her guard “Those are not Wargs, instead you shall ride their ancestors. The Werewolves... bringing them into this world has left me very tired. I count on you to get me there.” She said waiting for the party to leave

"I...understand. I only need a moment with the girl. She must know the truth." Telimekhtar nodded slowly to Dimitri and attempted to rise. He found his legs shaky and static. "I am weak." He muttered in accordance and tried to walk, nearly falling.

Keratos led Tamara along as the elves escorted them through the forest. "Good. Think nothing of the matter, my Lady." The ranger smiled and they walked along. Mateus found Shin scowling at the elves, his fingers tapping idly against his crossbow whilst Furdin grumbled about the weather. It was still raining, albeit less now.

"Hello there, mellon." Haldir said, a slight raise of his eyebrow betrayed his surprise. "You are forgiven. Rare it is to see a halfling past the great river." The elf noted.

-------------------------------

"You want answers. Alright. Believe me or not but here is the truth you insipid grump." Aranel sighed and began.

"Those you met are not from this world...or should I say time. Regardless, they are from mine. The one who attacked you, who cannot seemingly die, it is some beast known as Norio. It is seemingly indomitable. Not even Ha'zi could kill it. Not your Ha'zi, mine. My Ha'zi was stronger than even I. It would be too difficult to explain this to you because your Ha'zi is inexperienced and untrained. I want to teach him and prepare him for the war to come but I cannot do that until I find him. For instance, my Ha'zi was older and more experienced. He was able to fend off Manwe once. That should tell you how powerful Ha'zi can become. And with my guidance, he may become more powerful than even my Ha'zi, at least I hope."

"The other one you saw is my nephew. He killed Ha'zi." She paused, "That should tell you enough. He is in league with a dark force, something that destroyed my time, I told you about it already. This darkness, it consumed Manwe and Ulmo along with many other Ainur and ravaged Middle-Earth. He was used as a weapon to destroy our world. And now...now it appears he is here to raze this one. And I intend to stop him. With or without your fatass, so you can either help me find Ha'zi and put a stop to Beren or you can stand aside and search for your useless friends, who by the way, I did not find at least before I sensed the danger." Her words did not hurt him but they were annoying nevertheless.

"And you want to know what's really funny, this is your fault. All your faults. If you'd only have worked together properly instead of fucking everything over, if Ha'zi hadn't been such a fucking-" She stopped herself short. "It doesn't matter. What's done is done. It can never be reversed. And because of those actions, I have to kill my nephew who I loved and adored. Now I can't even recognize his face. After he killed his mother and Cardiloc...he...I can't anymore. I just want to leave. I don't want to save this useless world. Why can't it be you or someone else? Why do I have to pay for the mistakes of others?!" Thoruk felt the earth shake slightly beneath him.

"You deal with Beren. I'm going to take my niece away from this horrible place." She stood up, slightly calming down and looked at Thoruk with determination. "For all I care, you and your fucking dwarves can rot. Let the Darkness take you. Insipid cretins. Time to find Laurel and Cardiloc."

As Thoruk had to digest all of this, he heard her mention his friend's name twice. No not Ha'zi but Cardiloc. The boy they had lost in Ithilien over a year ago. She spoke of her Card being deceased already...so who else but their Card could she be referring to?

She must know more than she is willing to let on...

-------------------------------

Morgoth exhaled slightly as he heard their pleas. He raised his hand and snapped his finger. The Balrogs were back inside his fortress, standing in the throne room. Undolog could once again breath and she was picked up by Lungorthin who set her standing and slapped her shoulder. It was hard enough to cause her distress but not enough to cause her pain. Alongside them was Gothmog. He said nothing but it was clear he was very displeased.

Near the throne stood Morgoth and Iver kneeling before him. The Dark Lord raised the Dalishman up with a single hand and suddenly the two were gone.

------------------------------

Atop the crown tower of Morgoth's fortress which stood just a few miles short of Baradur, the Dark Lord staked Iver against its side. The Dalishman had little time to process what was happening as his body was slammed against the tower wall, sharp stalactites impaling his arms and legs and one missing his head.

"As promised, I have raised you from perdition." Morgoth said as he looked down at the green lands of Mordor, an ironic gesture. "I am not blind. You are a liar at heart. Unfortunately, you have been corrupted. As such, you can be an ally but not without this corruption clouding your judgement. I understand your hunger, Iver. You shall remain here until this hideous habit of yours vanishes and the darkness that has crept into your fea is vanquished." Morgoth's voice communicated to him telepathically.

----------------------------

Morgoth re-appeared on the throne, sitting still. He eyed his servants curiously.

"You there," He looked at one Ranzolg. "Continue your duel. Entertain me."

Lungorthin's eyes narrowed. He dropped his weapons and raised arms to combat the smaller Balrog.

-----------------------------

Manwe nearly burst out into laughter.

"Atone? Aule is too far gone for such measures. It is quite simple, Vana. Aule is blinded and as such his blindness has caused him to turn against our enemies. Do not trust any of his actions. He cannot be trusted. It is only us few who are protected from the everlasting shadow that inseminates Ea. Only we can purify Arda." He finished. Ulmo mumbled something.

"What?" Manwe turned his head. Ulmo said nothing. "Speak when Eru bids you to speak, slave!" A set of eternal guards yanked the chains around Ulmo's neck, raising his head. His eyes caught Vana's for a moment and in them she saw sheer defiance. His spirit...it was pure. She saw it fighting back against the chains that held him but Aule had designed such manacles for Morgoth and thus it was able to contain Ulmo.

"You are corrupt." Her brother said. Manwe's finger twitched. A spat of electricity shot through the roof and began to electrocute Ulmo. Another spark hit him, followed by another and another and another until her brother was no longer visible through a prism of electrical volts pulsing through the throne room. Once the show was over, Manwe relaxed and Ulmo's head fell forward. His figure was kept held up by the chains. Without them, he would have collapsed.

"As you can see, Ulmo too is clearly misguided. Obviously, the shadow has touched him. Only through purification can we rid ourselves of it." Manwe beckoned forth someone.

Three Maia came forth. Vana recognized Salmar, Osse, and his wife, Uinen. They came and knelt before the Elder King. "My Lord," Each repeated.

"Eru." Manwe corrected.

"My Lord, Eru."

"Much better. Your disobedience has been noted. However, I have forgiven you. Yet...I cannot allow for such acts to be tolerated. Therefore, one of you must seize the mantle of your Lord. Or I shall be forced to believe you all to be traitors. Now. Slay Ulmo."

----------------------------------

"Their searching for Aranel...remember? You sent them to find her. Where I told you to look...our village near the Celduin river." Endo seemed confused. Had Cardiloc forgotten or was he merely testing him. "You alright? How did that 'important thing' go?"

Dimitri nodded in acknowledgement, quietly satisfied that he FINALLY got the point through Teli's thick skull, and said, "Aye, I can see that, comrade. I could carry you, if you want. Or shall I just offer you a shoulder?" Dimitri offered.
