VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"do not allow them to injure themselves", "engage it before it can leave the cave", "Be careful not to kill them whilst they are un-transformed, this may result in them transforming and getting away"...... Iver felt like he got an order for a cake some fcking noble, so many Instructions... How he was suppos to knock out that dude without killing him? Maybe he can knock him out? Yes thats it he can choke the guy. But he looked like a strong fellow, how he is gonna do that without simply getting ripped off?
After few seconds it hit him, he pulled out his waterskin that he filled with the glue and smirked it on a piece of cloth, making sure he is doing it super quietly. Then with his new weapon he snuck behind the man, preaparing to use place the cloth on the guy's face, chocking him and getting him knocked out without killing him. He knew he wont die because one time his friend got stuck under a boat in lake town and couldnt breathe for at least 2 minutes, but after he was saved by the fisherman he was fine.

Iver's stealth worked and he indeed managed to wrap the cloth around the man's face. The shifter struggled, gagging as the sap filled his mouth and made it impossible to breath. His body thrashed like a wild shark but eventually slackened. The shifter fell into the river, gagging, his body slamming into it with a loud splash.

Iver saw a faint glow coming from his body. The same glow he had seen with Ha'zi before his body transformed...

"Oh dear" He said while pulling out his crossbow and shooting into the water while running toward the desk to hide behind it. Maybe the thing wont see him.

Suddenly it dawned on him. How could he not have thought of this sooner? He wouldn't be saving the world for his sake.

He would be doing it for his children. What kind of father would not gladly give his life a thousand times to save those of his offspring?

"I need... I need to help," he said, a dull fear growing inside him. "However I can." And with this, he stops going after Margoz, and starts looking for Elodrin; he would give him a worthy task.

The blast of the light and steam explosion sent Iver's crossbow bolt flying back, the river exploding and the desk being flung into the air. The explosion of light could be seen by everyone in the cave, blinding them. Inside and out of the river stood a great bat-like creature with thin wings, sharpened claws and two mighty talons. It's colour was jet black and its face impounded and snouted as it stared at them with beady eyes. The Flying Giant.

Slowly its eyes turned to see Iver, blown behind the desk, hiding. It's jaws unhinged and great fangs could be seen with saliva dripping out of them. It's claws came down on the river as it hauled its wet body out, flapping its wings and sending water flying everywhere.

"Slay it before it can leave the cave! Cardiloc, now!" Eonwe shouted at them, charging towards it.

Marco yelled, "GET DOWN IVER!" and threw his spear at the beast. The weapon clipping the creature's wing to little effect like a toothpick.

"For the West!" Dimitri shouted, storming towards the cave. "Don't let it leave the cave. We can keep it pinned in here." He kept his spear ready to keep the bat-thing at bay with a thrust.

Sigeric scowled. What had that fool of a merchant done this time?! As the giant avian monstrosity began to prowl towards Iver, Sigeric readied his halberd and began to slowly flank around the side of the cavern, not taking his eyes off of the creature. "We need spears at the entrance! Don't let it escape! Everyone else, split up and hit it from the sides!"

while dropping to the floor Iver thought to himself "Bats, from all the things on earth, bats" He always hated those nasty things. Most of the time he kicked them away but it seems like it wont work this time. He pulled out his spear and shouted at the top of his lounges in the highest pitch voice he could to confuse the bat.

After the flash of light was gone and Thoruk realises the giant had transformed he looks at the spear from Marco not doing much damage. "Aye, what in Durin is that? A giant bat?" he asks while getting out his crossbow. "I hope this will work lad" he shouts towards Iver before loading his deadly tooth-bolt and swooosh shoots it with the intention to hit the monster's wing so it couldn't flee.

Cardiloc concentrated on the pain that was in his shoulder, he panted as he attempted to transform his mind focusing first on the wolf. No, it hadn't enough power and the flying giant could simply dodge away from the claws. He thought of his days hunting the wild birds that circled around Dunland. Their sharp talons gleaming in the pale light of the sun as they gracefully glided through the sky until he brought them down. He remembered the time he saw the most magnificent bird of them all, and concentrated...

Ha'zi gasps as he sees the blinding white light from the entrance. He begins to move forward, spear in hand, but suddenly remembers that he needs to move. He can't get injured. So, Ha'zi backs up and tries to find a way down the ledge.

Thoruk's bolt combined with Iver's scream disorientated the giant. The tooth-bolt ripped a hole in its wing and caused it intense pain. It gawked, screaming louder than Iver, causing their ears to split in agony.

"What the hell?" Marco said, wincing on the ground, his ears bleeding. Even Eonwe was slightly fazed but reached Iver and grabbed the fool, pulling him behind him. The Maia then charged the thing. It smacked him with its claws sending Eonwe flying into a stalactite on the roof, knocking him unconscious and sending him down onto the floor with a thud. They had just lost their best fighter.

The Flying Giant winced at its ripped wing as it began to heal, steam filling the wound. It slowly turned to attack Iver but then-

WHOOSH

At the entrance to the cave, behind the arrayed spear wall of Rhovanion men, was a great eagle. Not as big as those of Middle-Earth but large and magnificent. The Flying Giant squeaked, ignoring Iver, and dashed past the Dalishman, rushing the spear-wall with frightening intensity.

Cardiloc awoke inside the body of the eagle. He could see everything. He could control it. It was him. He felt its wings through his arms, its claws through his toes, its beak through his mouth. It was simple enough to control.

"CARD, WATCH OUT!" Radaa called, him and his wildmen embraced the Rhovanion wall as the beast charged.

"Welp time to get serious" The merchant said and threw his pear at the bat. Then he pulled out his two daggers and waited for the right moment to charge (when the bat will be too busy), while waiting for the moment he reloaded his crossbow.

Sigeric stepped aside as the bat and the eagle prepared to clash. He didn't want to be caught between them. He considered drawing his longbow, but decided that the risk of hitting Cardiloc was too great. Instead, he followed the Flying Giant and stayed just out of reach of the bat with his halberd, waiting for an opening to slash at its hind legs.

As Thoruk realises a giant eagle appear behind him and Eonwe on the ground, he loads his 2nd tooth bolt into his crossbow, just in case he could use it and shouts towards Cardiloc and the others "I bet my axe on that eagle lads!"

The eagle let out a mighty cry, and surged towards the flying giant its wings flapping with grace. Once it was close enough it raised its talons to claw at the Flying Giants face.

Dimitri rushes into the cave to drag Eonwe to safety while the bat was distracted. At any point that the bat would come at him, he tries to keep it away with thrusts and menacing shouts.

The Flying Giant shrieked like a banshee again. The shield wall of spears crumbled a bit under the echoing torment and fell back, allowing it to fly above them. The bat, now with its wings healed and at full span soared above the eagle. The Hybrid Giant managed to scrape its face but the Flying's larger claws ripped through the Hybrid's left wing, sending it down on the ground. The Flying fell atop it, landing on it, its jaws opening to take a bite out of the eagle.

Iver saw he needed to help Cardiloc immediately. It was his fault for not restraining the Flying shifter and now Cardiloc might pay. It was also his fault Cardiloc was mauled by the Crocolion. Why was he always screwing things up for them? He had to make it right.

Eonwe was out cold in Dimitri's security. The bat was too busy attacking the eagle at the entrance to the cave. He remembered Eonwe's warning. 'Do not permit it to fly otherwise we lose all chances of retrieving its power. Kill them at all costs.'

Both Sigeric and Thoruk saw their chances to attack it whilst it was busy tangling with Cardiloc's giant. But it was Radaa that jumped in first, throwing his spear into the Flying Giant's back. The dazed Rhovanion men also threw their spears like javelins. Some bounced off its hide whilst others went through and pierced its back, rear and wings. The creature mewled loudly like a cat that had its tail trampled on.

"I need to neutrelize that fcker" Iver said and put two small glue n cloth balls in his ears. "For the North" He screamed shooting with is crossbow at the bat while runing toward it, attampting to use his daggers to get on the bat's back where he will be out of reach, so he thought.
