VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

As they rode, Sigeric theorized about who or what the voice was. A Maiar? Obviously not one on the same side as Eonwe and Ilmare. He also had time to reflect on the memories that he had focused on to endure the Trickster's mental assault. He realized that he had not been entirely honest with the rest of the group about his mission in Bree, though he doubted that he would tell them in any case.

"Just another thing that we didnt had to deal if we werent on this stupid adventure" Iver mumbled so no one could hear him

Marco got up, mounted his horse and looked at the others with some skepticism and disbelief. "I didn't actually die, did I?" He gulped.

"I don't know. Something of power. I could not sense it at first but then it dawned on me. It cannot harm us for now. Let us go." Eonwe said, riding ahead.

((TIME-SKIP))

It had been fifteen more of riding through the jungle and up the steep incline before they emerged into a clearing. Eonwe led them up a mountain on a steep route along the side of the dormant volcano. After another fifteen or so minutes they reached the peak. There was a plateau along with a large entrance to a cave. Eonwe dismounted and said, not loudly,
"The Flying Giant should be in there. In the case they are sleeping, restrain them and do not allow them to injure themselves. If they are already in Giant form, engage it before it can leave the cave. Do not permit it to fly otherwise we lose all chances of retrieving its power." He walked up to Ha'zi and Cardiloc.

"Ha'zi do not transform unless you must. If you do, do it outside, otherwise you may collapse the cave and kill us all. Cardiloc, I expect you to fight the Flying Giant if it comes down to it. I will let you cut yourself now so that you have the chance to transform. Think of the most deadly beast you can imagine to bring it down. Do you both understand?" He asked them. This was a lot to take in. Ha'zi would be virtually useless in the cave, however, they couldn't allow the Flying Giant to escape it. It was Cardiloc's role to take it down.

Eonwe turned to the rest of them, "To kill the Flying Giant, remove the shifter from the giant's neck. Be careful not to kill them whilst they are un-transformed, this may result in them transforming and getting away. Bring the shifter restrained to me if you can. Otherwise take its power before it can escape. Kill them at all costs. If anyone is injured or dying we can save them by giving them the power." The Maiar unsheathed his longsword and walked into the cave, expecting them to follow.

((Before Cap's post))

As they ride on, Thoruk starts to think about what the wise, yet crazy dwarf told him: Retake the grey mountains..." he'd mumble before thinking on "Dains tomb, I would be a honor to die where our ancestors died and our allmigthy Dain the first has fallen... to a filfthy cold drake." he pauses in thought as he ride on "Aye, should I ever meet one, I'll crush it's head like I'll crush these giants soon."

Iver took off his boots, they were too loud for sneaking. Then, just like he did when he tried to escape paying road taxes he crouched and whispered toward the others "Ill take a look inside and tell you if he is asleep or not". He then started crouch walking toward the cave.

The mighty dwarf, jumping down his mount grabbes hold of his axe and his wooden shield before quietly saying "Aye, let's get this going lad" towards Iver before adding "How bout we poke him if he transforms?"

Margoz finally wakes up. He looks for the others in the house until he realized Frieda is the only one here. ((no, I did not do anything with her last night unless Cap says so. We barely talked at all...)) He puts on his outdoor clothing and equipment before preparing to get food. He thinks about where the others had gone, but for now, he stays in the house until Frieda wakes up.

Cardiloc dismounted from his horse, and listened to the maiars speech intently. He was a little skeptic cal about trying to use his newfound power but at least he would have a chance to prove himself. Transforming would be difficult and he still wasn't clear on how to change his skin. "I'll-I'll do it." He promised Eonwe nervously retrieving his spear from his back. "Where should I be cut? If I'm cut on the hand it'd hinder my throw... How about my arm?"

Elodrin and the five men entered the dark cave. It took them ten minutes to reach the opposite end at a jog but they eventually did. Light poured in from the east as the sun was rising. There was another patrol group waiting at the opposite end. Elodrin could see that it was a bunch of Gondorians. They appeared to be slacking and talking but stood to attention as soon as the older Gondorian reached the exit of the cave. Margoz finds the last of the breakfast being served by Victas in a small cabin. It was cold but still better than that sloppy fish food he'd been fed whilst in captivity in the slave ship. Everyone else seemed to be working, exercising, or filling another role. 16191695

Radaa passed Cardiloc and tapped his shoulder, "Poke your legs or maybe your shoulders. It'll bleed a little but not bad. Remember, we're countin' on ya, Card. I'll stick close to you." He says calling up a couple of the other hillmen. Seven men joined them.

Sigeric, Dimitri and Ha'zi saw their friends dismounting and approaching the cave.

Thoruk was joined by a couple of the others. Nine Rhovanion men held up a spear-wall moving in with the dwarf. As well as Marco who came up near him wielding a spear. "'Ey, Thoruk." The guy whispered as they marched up behind Eonwe.

Eonwe was entering but Iver snuck past. The Maiar couldn't say anything as it might alert their enemy to their position but he was clearly frustrated with Iver's bluntness. The Dalishman managed to get inside the dark cave and saw everything.

The cave had no natural light but there appeared to be some civilization to it. There was a little stream running inside the cave. Next to it was a desk, some books and papers scattered across it and beside it a small bed that lined the cold cave ground. There were some rather large skeletons scattered about inside the cave as if some creature had feasted. The ceiling had many stalactites which dripped water, creating a constant echo in the cave. It appeared the bed was empty and the entire cave devoid of life. Drip, drip, the stalactites continued as Iver entered, stealthily.

Margoz does not hesitate. He digs in, "where the hell did everybody go." He continues eating until the last bit of breakfast is gone. He wants to head out but he can't leave Frieda alone, not at this time. So he sits back as she gets knocked out during the morning.

Sigeric dismounted and entered the cave with the others, halberd at the ready. He was completely silent, but was mentally screaming at Iver for his recklessness. They could be walking into an ambush for all he knew. Sigeric's senses were on high alert, as he listened for any sound that was out of the ordinary.

Daugo had heard the Maia's speech, sure. Fate of Middle-Earth and humanity, sacrifice, peril. Not at all his cup of tea. No, he decided to stay at the Numenorean city, take full advantage of the safety and comforts it provided, and then, if push came to shove and the giants besieged them, run away with supplies and equipment.

He walks around the center of the town, where the bonfire is, with no real mission in mind. As he does this, he sees Margoz walking away, and, with nothing better to do, follows after him. "Oi, Margoz," he calls out.

((Apologies. Was at my birthday party most of the day lul))

Iver didnt see anything, but it ment nothing. He snuck in, close to the side of the cave where the shadows were heavier and while looking around, entered even further into the cave.

Cardiloc rolled his left sleeve up, and cut almost a cm off his shoulder with the tip of the spear. The pan was nothing more than an itch compared to having his kneecap smashed, and having ale poured on said wound. He prepared to follow Eowne in.

"Alright, will do," he says to Eonwe. He backs outside the cave entrance and collects some rocks for his slidng, putting them in his pockets or a pouch. When he is done, he stands prepared, with his hands steadily gripping the spear.

Iver could see something moving around in the back, near the river. His vision was obscured by the desk. He heard a splash. He needed to get closer.

As the others approached they watched Iver. Eonwe led them into the cave, they could see it all now as their eyes adjusted to the darkness.

Iver slowly made his way to the edge of the river and peered over to where the noise was coming from. He saw it now. There was a toned man washing himself next to the river, behind the desk. He was short but very muscled and wore white linen pants. He had dark hair and Iver could see his back from here. On his upper spine he saw a little mark in the darkness, a tattoo of two wings like an angel like Ha'zi's crossed-swords tattoo.
