VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

Margoz tries to wake Frieda up and have everyone leave the house he is in before the shaking gets worse. He thinks about the others as well and has a feeling they did something stupid in order for this to happen.

Thoruk, who followed Ha'zi and Iver suddenly asks them "Aye lads, are you about to burry him?" While walking towards them and looking at the dead body of the giant bat he adds "I'll help ya, we should head back towards the city, aye?" "I really want to kill that guardian giant Eonwe talked bout." the mighty dwarf addes with the blazing fire in his eyes coming back once more.

As Sigeric rode, he looked around to see how his companions were faring. He wondered whether the two Northmen whom he and Dimitri had fought were part of those on the expedition.

Iver couldn't really find a place to bury the man. The ground was too solid and tough for him to dig and he didn't have a shovel which made it more difficult. There were some areas of the cave though. He remembered the stream the man had bathed in and the bed he slept in. Perhaps he could cover him in his sheets then let him float in the river until his body was washed into the earth? --------------

Sam smiled back at him, tearing up. Many of the others felt the same way. They would not survive this. They would not reach freedom. Not return home. Not return to their families. Their sacrifices would not be remembered. Their legacy lost. But Elodrin roused them.
"Fight." Sam said.
"FIGHT!" Dean repeated.
"FIGHT!!" They all cried.

Another rock throw. The fourth and fifth houses were leveled. They were down to only 50% of Aldamos left. The remaining buildings covering them from any assault.

"Elodrin! We have to engage them quickly before we get showered with rocks! Let's use the horses to surprise charge the Destroyer." Silesia called to him. 15756962

"Aye! To the stables! Archers do what you can!" He would yell to those with bows and crossbows while he and any who followed him went to the stables.

Iver brought the man back to the cave and wrapped him with sheets. Putting him inside the stream he said "Farewell nameless, the flying giant, servent of malkor and saver of Iver. May your afterlife be better than this" he then allowed his body to wash by the stream "From ashes we come and ot ashes we go, only the dead shall truly rest" He said as the dead man swam down the stream. "Maybe we should look around this place, maybe we can find anything interesting" Iver said remembering the desk from earlier. Maybe the man wrote a diary.

Iver looked around the cave geathering notes and papers, took his boots back and gave Thoruk His weapons beside one dagger, went outside the cave and stabbed his sleeveless arm. Waiting to transform to his greatest fear, a flying rat.

Nearly a hundred and twenty people followed Elodrin into the stables. It was hectic, chaotic, a mess but they all managed to find steeds and gather outside the stables in somewhat sensible rows.

Twenty-two archers lined the hilltop. The scorpion was brought with them and they began to aim it at the Destroyer.

WHOOSH

Another rock throw. Only 34% of the city remained. The remaining survivors were covered by the last of the houses.

"That was a good toss. I need some more rocks."

The Destroyer said, laughing and cracking open another boulder, to the Dwarf. The smaller giant rushed back over to the valley side and carved out some more boulders.

"Elodrin," Dean said riding up to him, "If I don't survive this, I want you to take my brother and sister and get them back to Gondor. Please."

Silesia came up, "We have to move now. Elodrin, lead the way!" 15756962

--------------

On the deck was a single book with some notes around it. They couldn't understand the language but it must have been important if it was the only belonging of the Flying shifter.

Iver's body experienced the change. The light, the steam and next thing you know he was a bat. Iver almost fell when he couldnt stand on his legs alone, he tried to talk but only an autistic screech came out. He was about to apologize before realizing that he will just screech again. He got on 4 and duck so Hazi and Thoruk could climb on his back.

"Hm, thats no dwarven language for sure" the mighty dwarf says as he looks onto the book. "Let's take it with us and hand it over to our Maia lad when we return." he pauses a bit while taking the book. "Aye lads, I really want to smash the next giant, let's get started, Iver you think ya can do this lad?" he says while looking at his friend with fire in his eyes.

He would wordlessly nod to Dean before sheathing his Longsword and holding his spear. Pulling the reigns he would making so that his horse would go onto its hind legs, but not so far to make him fall. Pointing at the Giants he would chant "FIGHT!" And then charge to the Giants. Once they reached halfway he would call for the scorpion to be aimed and shot at the dwarf Giants while the archers shot at the Destroyer giant. Hopefully the corner riders would hear his instructions.

Iver was about to head on his way when he realized he had a problem. He never learned to fly......
But how hard it could be? He thought as he jumped and tried to flip his wings and stay in the air.

Iver fell through the air like a hammer. He needed to flap his wings with much more force. The Flying Giant slowly glided a bit more as he learnt his way around it and got the hang of it. Ha'zi and Thoruk would be screaming for their lives as they flew. The ground so far below them causing them vertigo.

----------------

At the top of the mountain another giant appeared. It stood on the summit of the volcano, the lava flowing around it but never touching it.

"A suicide charge? Huh. I thought they had something else up their sleeves."

The Destroyer Giant curled its arm and unleashed a hailstorm of rocks, sending them flying at the 120 charging men and women.

"Fire!" Ordered Yuri, releasing his arrows as the Destroyer released its throw. The arrows flew through the air at the giant, over the heads of the charging cavalry.

Elodrin saw his life flash before his eyes as the rocks flew at them. His time as a child, his drunkard of a grandfather's death, his time in the army, his parents' deaths, living in Rohan, his wife, her death, his illness, living in Bree, the barfight, the prison fight, his time in slavery, the uprising on the ship, the beach, the giants, the jungle, the Maiar, Aldamos, the Gondorians, his friends, everything.

A rock hit his shoulder, another smashed through his horse's face, a third split the horse's mane then flew through the left side of his torso. Elodrin's steed twisted and collapsed, falling on top of him. His own body giving up.

"CAPTAIN ELODRIN!" One of the Gondorians next to him screamed before being hit by a rock as well. The entire front of the cavalry charge was decimated, the second and third rows also hit badly. But the fourth and fifth rows continued onwards, fanning out. They were still far from the giant as they charged through the ruins of the city and down towards the valley.

"HA! Did you see that? I wiped half of them out with a single throw!"

The Destroyer exclaimed, laughing before picking up another rock.

Grimnir had not followed Elodrin. Instead, choosing to remain behind. He was seen as a coward by them. And they were dead. He analyzed the situation and saw something. The Destroyer was using rocks from the valley sides. His dwarven eyes traced a route out. If he could climb the valley sides he could ambush the thing. It was too distracted with Elodrin and his men. Would Grimnir attempt to climb the valley sides and go after the Destroyer Giant?

Now it was time to land so neither Thoruk nor Hazi would fall and die. He learned to fly really fast, maybe landing was easier? Iver attempt to land without killing any of his passangers.

Cardiloc looked over at Sigeric. "That was pretty cool, you killing the Shifter like that. I just wish I was stronger in my eagle form..." He nodded to Sigeric, his eyes full of awe though he was a little miffed that he wasn't as powerful as the shifter. Though with three shifters on their side this guardian shifter wouldn't be too hard to defeat. He wondered where Iver, Thoruk and Ha'zi were.

"Ahhhh!! IIIIIIIVVVER!!" Ha'zi screams when the bat flops. He holds on to the back with his life, breathing in and out very rapidly.
