VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"Yeah, just toss it on and I'll salt it tonight." The Gondorian man said to Zaro, pointing back at the open end of the caravan. "Try to keep the body away from the other meats, in the case that it's spoilt."

---------

"Sir, we're having breakfast before we leave," Harros said to Zaro, waking his commanding officer up. The elf was in his tent and brought him a cup of water, "Here,".

Glorfindel spoke after tossing away the eaten apple, "The Book of Vana held a treasury of information on flora. I now know plants that exist in the Orocarni and those that grow in Valinor also can sprout in the Yellow Mountains south of Harad. But the interesting points were what Vana said of herself. There have been discussions over the millenia on who the most beautiful of the Valier are. According to Vana's book, she is not the most beautiful, but instead that title goes to Queen Varda Elentari. Which is interesting as texts by Yavanna and Noldorin scholars indicate that Vana was most beautiful in appearance.." he droned on before Ha'zi's attention was peaked, "The Book also spoke little of Oromë, her husband, which is interesting considering that they were married. However, there is a foot note on Nielíqui, apparently a daughter of Vana who used to dance in the forests of Oromë. Though, not much is mentioned on her, it is of note that she was the only child of Vana the Everyoung and Oromë Aldaron."

Miriel listened as she ate her eggs with a fork and knife.

"Hm." Ha'zi mumbled, his eagerness to read the book deflated. It sounded pretty boring... why would he want to know which of the Valar won for most beautiful? He kept stabbing at his eggs, now rather uninterested in his meal. 12253360

Zaro placed the meat on the corner away from the other meat and put the fur and hide/skin near it to be transported. and thanked the caravan master before leaving. Zaro returned to his tent and after a few hours had finally finished turning the horn into a war horn and was pleased with the sound. It sounded somethign like "Booooo, Daaaaa, Raaaa, Daaaa, Boooo" Zaro named it the change and put it back where it was concealed. Zaro then left his tent to offer the other horn to Iver and to make it into a war horn if he needs help or to call something if he wanted to.
------
"Breakfast?" Zaro asked while streching from his bedroll.

"You okay?" Miriel asked Ha'zi putting down her finished plate.

Glorfindel continued to nerd-out babble on about Vana and plants whilst Elrohir cooked the next eggs for the newcomers.

Elladan gave a, "Good morning," to them all before he left, jogging out of the Shifter section.

16315828

"Eh, yeah, I guess." Ha'zi replies, finishing up his remaining eggs. He then whispered over to her, "I've just gone through so much trouble trying to see what that book said, only for some lesson on flowers. Not exactly what I was hoping for."

He gets up and puts away his bowl and cutlery, then returns and sits back down next to Miriel. "Would you mind going somewhere private for a second? I need to talk to you about something..." Ha'zi whispers to her. 12253360

"Sure," Miriel said, nodding and waiting for him to lead the way for a change.

16315828

"Thanks." Ha'zi bids goodbye to the others, then leads her over far past his tent. He makes sure no one is nearby before beginning. "First I'd like to say last night was... amazing." He pauses, blushing. "I, um, really enjoyed it... but that's not what I really wanted to talk to you about."

Ha'zi leans against a tree, and gazes at Miriel. "It would probably sound crazy... even after everything that's happened so far. But I swear, it's true. Do you trust me enough to believe what I'll say is real?" 12253360

Miriel was blushing slightly, "Speak your mind, Ha'zi. I told you to be honest with me."

Last night. She felt her blood rush. Why had she ended up doing that with him? Was it because of the wine? Or did she actually want to...? No. It must've been the wine. Though, he was sort of cute when he moaned like a cat...No stop it. Miriel tried to clear her mind.

"So, what is it?"

16315828

He let out a breath and closed his eyes. "I-I don't know why I'm sharing this with you, really. I should probably go to someone else from the island, like Sigeric or Iver, or someone who really wanted to know about this. But," he opened his eyes again and spoke right to Miriel, "I trust you. And it feels easier talking to you about anything, to open up."

"So, here it is. I, um, had some pretty weird dreams last night. One showed me of Minas Tirith... being destroyed, blowing up in flames from some man. This voice kept speaking to me, telling me this would happen if I failed. All this death, my fault. The other, was me with this man that had been messing with our group on the island, he calls himself "The Trickster." He kept pressuring me to find something, some secret, something about how to stop or save Melkor, some truth, I don't know. I looked around for whatever this was, but apparently I failed, couldn't find it, because everything seemed to get sucked away for some reason."

What would this even do? Miriel probably thought he was crazy for saying all of this. But he didn't care. He wanted to tell someone. Ha'zi sighed, and rambled on. "So, that's... that's my story. It probably sounds insane, that I'm insane. I-I could be, I guess. I have proof though.. for some of it.. but there is proof. What.. what do you think? Am I crazy?" 12253360

”Ha’zi,” She began, sighing, “I had nightmares as well. It’s just your head messing with you, okay?” She walked up to him and gave him a hug.

Oh Eru, had she slept with a crazy son of a bitch? Was he even sane? Had he gone crazy because of the island? Or was this just his imagination? Minas Tirith exploding? How? The only person she knew that could do that was...

No. He must be crazy. Somebody called the Trickster? Are you serious? Who calls themselves that? Why would anyone want to save Melkor? Unless...perhaps it was Sauron? Was he manipulating Ha’zi’s dreams? Maybe. Maybe this was a ploy to bring him to their side. Yes, now I see it.

She embraced him, pulling him off the tree and into her arms. Miriel was, to Ha’zi’s realization, incredibly strong for a woman. It must be a side affect of her training that made her so quick.

16315828

He embraced her back tightly, smiling. "Thanks... it probably was just a nightmare.. nothing else.." He slightly lied. It wasn't really a lie. Ha'zi still wasn't sure what they were, those visions and that visit. However... she didn't believe him. Thought that it was all in his head. That he was some lunatic. Or maybe her nightmares had been similar to his. It could be true...

But what about the painting he had? The one with the Trickster and his supposed wife? He felt, held it in real life outside whatever illusion he was in during the night. Would he show her? Would he give up this moment just to prove a point, to confirm she was wrong?

No, he should savor this moment with her. Maybe show her later, or not at all. He would definitely show it to Celeborn and Glorfindel though, and possibly the others.

Ha'zi pulled himself out of her hug for a second, and kissed her on the cheek, smiling warmly. "I really needed that, thanks, Miriel. Want to head back to the others now?" 12253360

”Yes, sir.” Harros said, standing back and leaving his tent, allowing Zaro his privacy.

”I mean, we could head back or...” Miriel suggested, hands around his neck. “But we’d have to be quick.”

16315828

Geez Miriel, calm the fuck down ((Ba dum tssss)) Her words set Ha'zi's pulse racing. They could do it, right here. The place he chose should be far enough away for anyone waking up to hear them. "As long as you're ok with it," Ha'zi grinned, then softly kissed her, his lips still buzzing with heat from the moment before. He dropped his left hand down to her lower back while his right went around her neck, holding her to him. After a while, he pulled her closer, his mouth pushing harder, hungrier. He then purposely fell backwards on to the soft forest floor, and, with a laugh, flipped himself over so he was on top.... and beep bop boop. Card woke up from the horn, and yawned as he stretched his arms out. He slowly stood, rubbed the sleep from his eyes, got dressed and then headed over to where breakfast was.

”Thirty minutes. Most of us need to finish the eating. Elladan’s finding our horses and bringing them back. We eat, pack up and haul the tents out, send them off to the supply caravans in the Gondorian sect, saddle up, hit the road and make our journey to Mordor. We’ve got a few more days before we finally reach the Remnants of the Black Gate.” Elrohir said to them all, addressing Dimitri’s question. He passed Dimitri two eggs on a wooden plate and a mug of water from a nearby barrel.

The elf turned to Cardiloc, “Welcome. Take a seat, I’ll try your eggs. How was the sleep? Last night we ended up using all the alcohol, but praise Ilúvatar, since we’ll need to be sharp for our journey. No more ale, wine or brandy.” He paused, cracking open another egg and placing it on the saucepan, “My brother Elladan told me you could become a dragon. Is that true?”

Around the camp, many of the Noldorin elves and Gondorians had become to clear up the tents.

Twenty minutes later, Miriel pulled on her coat and straightened herself out.

“I never knew you had such vigor, Ha’zi. Seriously, you need to calm down a little.” She laughed, patting the Haradrim youth down and kissing him lightly.

16315828

"I don't know where I got it, honestly. Maybe it was something in the eggs. But at least I didn't bash you into a tree... my back still hurts a little from that." He laughs lightly and returns her kiss. 12253360

”Sorry, I was a bit rough last night. I don’t know what got into me,” She lied. Miriel plucked a leaf out of his hair and took his hand, “Come on, let’s return to camp before they start to wonder where we’d gone.”

She knew exactly what happened to her. She’d let loose. Become uncontrolled. For only a fraction of a second she let her guard down and that flame inside her burned hot. She’d learnt to control it but why did she loose her cool? Was it the drink? It had only been one glass? Yes. It was the drink. She’d watch her alcohol next time. It couldn’t be anything else. Her hand tightened around Ha’zi’s.

16315828

Ha'zi nodded and began the walk back to camp. He thought along the way about what they'd just done. Where did he get that confidence from, that rush? Was that wine he tasted last night that strong? Was all alcohol that strong?

Maybe Miriel was the answer. He felt more relaxed, more confident and outgoing and caring
when he is with her and still felt that way after. That is probably it. Miriel made him this way, made him better.

So he was a bit concerned when he felt her hand tighten a bit. Was she ok? Miriel seemed a bit flustered earlier. Ha'zi slowed down his walk and spoke softly to her. "Are you
feeling well? You look kinda off."  12253360

Dimitri swiftly eats his eggs and then goes to take down his tent. After he is done with that, he tours the Gondorian section of the camp, trying to gauge the chances of them getting home alive. He realized that, like the number of trained veterans, it was low.
