I doubt anyone would be interested or care, but I was thinking about making an RP set in the 1st or 4th Age of Middle-Earth. And this isn't an MC one, sorry.
There could be two settings for the 1st Age. The first one would just be where all the action happened in the Simlarrion, in Beleriand, and would happen around 10 years before the fall of Doriath. You could be lord of a major kingdom, or a captain of the Dark Lord. Or...
It could be set in Enedwaith, Rohan, and Gondor in the First Age. You would play as the same races as Doriath, plus some more. None of the major 3rd Age cities would exist, but towns and villages would be present. Questing would be much more prevelant, and perhaps someone could rise up to create a kingdom to unite the region.
As for the 4th Age, this one would be different from the canon one. Aragorn and Gandalf, the entire Fellowship. Dead. Gondor fell after centuries of warfare, Rohan reduced to a desolate wasteland. Rivendell and Bree are now places of sacrifice to the Dark Lord, Mithlond a haven of evil men. Mirkwood is infested with spiders, Lorien a tainted realm of a foul witch. Erebor is the home of a dark smith from the east, a servant of Sauron given the form of a terrible iron giant. All of Middle-Earth is under the sway of the Dark Lord.
Yet hope remains in Middle-Earth. The Ring has disappeared once more, for the last action of the dying Ringbearer was to throw it into the Anduin. In the deep north, rumor reaches Middle-Earth of a force from the Valar marching towards the Grey Mountains. And in the mountains of Dorwinion, a band of adventurers has set forth to Moria to find an ancient heirloom of the Dwarves, the legendary axe of Durin.
You play the role of one of those adventurers. The fate of Middle-Earth rests in your hands as you move to find the axe and help cleanse the land of this taint.
