First Session of the Bards

I rule Longbeards (and essentially Stiffbeards and Broadbeams, as they were in Nogrod and Belegost, and when Nogrod sank and Belegost was ruined, most migrated to Khazad-dum and generally became integrated into the Longbeards), and am the governor of the tribes of the Orocarni, though I mostly let these ones alone. You answer to me, Captain Oranj, but I'm proud to have you on my staff. :)

If I didn't know you were joking I would find out where you live, pull out your toenails and fingernails with pliers, make them into a stiletto, tie you up, and slowly slice you up, cm by cm.

Why would I declare war when I don't need to I'm simply following orders ( I got orders from the king of mirkwood )

Rivendell would claim the most western part of Middle-Earth. Like the Grey Havens and such.
We could also keep the Misty Mountains safe.

You do not need to declare a war. King Wacko leads well and with a clear mind. He will not declare war rashly, though HE, not his captain, must decide which group to side with, Dale or Rhun.

Objection. I will not allow the Rivendell Elves to control all of Eriador, and Lindon isn't subject to Imladris. I vote we give them permanent, official control over the High Pass, the Gladden Pass, and the Trollshaws, as well as all land extending to the Gladden Pass, but no more.

Rangers.
And then the Elves can help. They do NOT need to make a transparent attempt to seize all Eriador, because this includes Minhiriath, Enedwaith, Evendim, the Weather Hills, the South Downs, and the North Downs, most of which are of no strategic importance in fighting the Darkness in the North (I don't include The Shire or Bree, because I TRUST that he didn't mean to take over others . . . ).

I think they should have a capital far in the east, in Hildorien, so that no one may be tempted to steal the jewels.

Or in Carn Dum. They have the ability to clear it. Plus, it would remove a major threat from the elves' north flank and would allow the dwarves to attack Gundabad from 2 sides.

They may be powerful, but they are few in number, and I doubt they can drive away Angmar and his hosts.

I do not believe Angmar poses a serious threat. Sure, there are fell beasts, but the Nine have fallen, and they are leaderless. I have heard no reports of them leaving Angmar to invade other places, so we should be fine on that front.
However, we must consider this: Gundabad has not been controlled by Dwarves for a looong time.
It is crawling with orcs and would be virtually impossible to overtake.
I propose instead that we attempt diplomacy.
Not all orcs are controlled by Sauron. Some, like those who used to be controlled by the Goblin King, instead follow their own leaders, not the Dark Lord. Though many do not respect the Orcs in the slightest, through study we have found that they do have a potential for good. Those brought up far away from corruption have a sliver of goodness within them: they don't like how Sauron controls their people, but they are forced by fear to obey.
I propose that we give these Orcs, those who want Sauron gone but have no means to that end, Gundabad as a homeland.
They can settle it, depose of those leaders they do not appreciate, put strong, just ones in place, and perhaps even join the greater world community one day in the fight against Sauron. The steps towards conversion of Gundabad from the hell it is now to a more civil state could be led Electric_Ice, Warchief of the Trolls, who has been able to be reasoned with, as proven with the treaties of Forochel ((I mean I expect there is a treaty as most respect that land as the home of the Trolls, ruled by Electric))
((I'm not sure if these 'good orcs' are really a thing, I'm not too well versed in the biology of orcs, but if it is a thing, that'd be super cool, and people could start being Orcs instead of Dwarves, Elves or Men, but not crazed or evil. There could even be a Warchief of Gundabad.))
