VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

The arrow landed inside the beast's throat without major damage as the creature crunched the arrow, shutting its mouth and barely missed Arandil as it landed where he stood. But with sheer swiftness it curled around and launched itself at the Gondorian, claws bared.

"Move out the way, soldier!" Someone yelled at him as the rangers reloaded yet could not fire with the lance corporal in the way.

Arandil smacked the sharper end of his shield directly at the beasts head and leaped out of the way as fast as he could but he was tired from the lack of sleep he had. He tried to get as far away so the men would shoot the beast to death.

As the beast charged towards Sigeric and Dimitri, the Dalishman pushed his weakened comrade out of its path, and then rolled to the side in the other direction. He waited for the abomination's next move, poised to strike with his Maiar blade.

Iver looked in surprise, he wasnt a target? I should run he said, remembering how Dim left him to fight pyrus alone, leading to his head getting smashed. "You know, eye for an eye will leave the world blind" a small voice told him, "Be better than him" he continued as Iver looked one last time at the escaping soldiers before saying "Fine, guess ill just die" before he started running toward Sig and Dim, right before thinking "Wait, i have time, i dont need to rush in".
Iver stopped and looked at the situation, waiting for the beast to turn it's back to him and his sharp maia blade.

"FIRE!" Another volley went off as Arandil's shield smacked the creature's forehead. It recoiled as a dozen arrows pierced its hide and it scurried towards the bushes, running away.

It's compatriot dashed and leaped after Sigeric, it's claws and jaws opening to maul the Dalishman. Sigeric saw it jump and knew that was it. He was exhausted and another dodge did not seem possible. Iver saw the creature coming down upon Sigeric with a killing blow prepared.

Out of the bushes, a tall menacing figure appeared. Its body was coated in black armor with veins of gold from head to toe. Not a single part of it was exposed and a multitude of belts, satchels, and pockets lined the armor filled with an array of tools from arrows to knives to daggers to spearheads. It was massive, about nine and a half feet tall and by its feet were another two hounds.

A stark whistling sound came from the Iron Hunter and six other beasts rushed in from the surrounding woodland.

"Ishgran sabbath." Its voice was hoarse and the two hounds at its feet charged towards Dimitri.

"Fall back, fall back!" Arandil screamed. He ran to grab his shield and went to thrust his sword through the skull of the beast while it was trying to get Sigeric.

Ha'zi kept retreating away from the battle, at a complete loss of what to do otherwise. For what else can the armless boy wonder do than flee?

Daugo bowed deeply. "Thank you, Master Salmar." He would've said more, but Eönwë interrupted. "I really dunno. Wasn't Sauron, I think, nor Karoltai. It had some nasty spikes on its back, and devilish fur. Mighty fast, it was, and it made a great ruckus of howls and yowls."

The animal was too focused on Sig, perfect. Iver, if close enough, would jump at the back/neck of the beast, aiming to stab her neck. Otherwise he would try and throw his Maia blade at it, aiming for the head.

"Spread out and keep away from the trees, together we are all one big target. If you can run now is the time to do so unless you wish to become a fleeing target!" Hering would cry out, move away from the rest of his fellow rangers and knocked an arrow, aiming and firing at the shoulder of one of the beasts.

"I have no recollection of such beasts. What say you, Salmar?" Eönwë asked the Ainu.

"None. They do not appear to be of Ulmo's making."

"You still have not answered my original question, Salmar." Eönwë turned on him.  Salmar was quiet. He shrugged and stroked one of his pearl white earrings.

"Where is he, Salmar?" Eönwë asked, determinedly. Salmar remained silent as the stream bubbled around him.

"Where is he?" The Maia's voice deepened and for a dreadful moment a dark shadow grew around Eönwë, its mass engulfing Daugo.

----------

The rangers split and it was mass chaos as a just over half a dozen beasts wreaked havoc across the rear of the convoy, leaping on fleeing soldiers and mauling them to death.

Arandil's shield bashed the head of the creature attacking Sigeric just as it raked its claws across the Dalishman. Sigeric's chest plate and mail protected him yet three bloody marks were left on his right arm and he staggered as blood began to seep from the wound.

Iver saw another one of the hounds approaching Arandil from the rear. It stalked them and prepared to jump on the Gondorian man while he protected his brother, Sigeric.

Ha'zi heard the screams and shouts and saw more men ahead running. He noticed a mountain like base to which the convoy had entered and saw Glorfindel standing at the entrance guarding it with two elves as the injured men entered. The black rangers were missing.

"Incoming!" Galador yelled as one of the creatures ran straight for their breaking ranks. Hering was in it's way as it tore through one of the rangers of Ithilien by biting the man's arm and ripping his jugular with a single well aimed strike.

"Tis but a scratch. Now follow me, were getting the fuck outta here." He then went and gathered his regiment and lead them towards the front.

Ha'zi halts and stares sourly ahead. "What am I supposed to do now? Glorfindel is probably going to leave me out here to fend for myself if I even tried to approach..." He decides to converse with his mental coach about what to do. "Keldar, got any ideas?"

Silence.

Keldar, like Ha'zi, was useless.

"Hurry, boy!" Someone pushed Ha'zi towards the entrance and the foreboding Glorfindel.

---------

Before Arandil could turn around, a heavy pressure fell upon him and he fell to the ground. Suddenly, pain erupted through his shoulder and he felt something sink deep into his armor as he was hurled upward and then, Arandil, was tossed like a rag doll through the air and smacked into Iver like a piece of discarded meat.

Sigeric saw his would be savior, one of the Gondorian men from before, get savagely assaulted, the bestial creature's fangs biting through his shoulder plate and catapulting the man away before turning to Sigeric. The hound braced, readying itself for another attack.

As the chaos continued, the Iron Hunter strolled past his mutts as they devoured and distracted the Karoltai party.

Dimitri saw a huge figure approaching him. Man, woman, whatever it was, was clad in full iron armor like Sauron with veins of gold between the armor. Its face was cloaked over by a helmet of shadowy black.

A ranger shot an arrow at it and quicker than Dimitri could comprehend, the Iron Hunter twisted, dodged and grabbed the arrow in mid air. It then threw the arrow, with speed that put the Flying Giant to shame, at the ranger. The projectile pierced through his mouth and flew out the opposite side of the man's head. The ranger's body collapsed onto the Ithilien ground in a mixture of blood and brains.

The Iron Hunter then continued, taking his time as he approached Dimitri.

"Ah, come on!" Ha'zi bemoaned over his soon-to-be and currently unlucky fortune as he begrudgingly goes ahead towards the ominous elven figure named Glorfindel.

Arandil knew not what had happened. He tried to get up and he felt pain everywhere. He then saw that he was tossed on to Iver. "Fucking hell, can you lot not transform? The moment we need you, you can't? Well then get the fuck up and let's get to the front to the convoy before the rest of the men flee and we lay here lost."

Sigeric gritted his teeth from the pain. As the hound prepared to attack, Sigeric poised to strike as well, planning to stab the beast in the throat with his Maiar blade.

"Die bit-" Iver shouted as out of nowhere a body hit and smacked him to the ground. Can you lot not do your job? The moment we need you you cant? Well then get the fuck up and start doing your job maggot" Iver replied to the annoying useless sack of flesh that was somehow still alive. He got up and looked around, slightly confused and in pain. If only he had his crossbow or spear, but no..... They had to start going before he could grab new weapons, fucking idiotic elf, making dumb decisions. Idiotic gondorian, asking stupid questions. Idiotic dimitri, doing nothing at all, staring at the... thing? "FUCKING IDIOTS!!!" Iver screams in rage and pain, and charged the closest beast with pure haterade.

Daugo shrank away from the dreadful sight of Eönwë's anger. He looked at Salmar's expression, trying to see if it could be read as easily as most mortals' (and even elves') faces could be.
