VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

Dimitri, though sluggish, tried to stay focused and watch his surroundings. He tried to get close to the (totally expendable) soldiers, so they would take the brunt of any attack.

"Another one... how fitting, as if I knew it" he says as he attaches his bloody axe to his back and tries to stay near the soldiers. "I won't be able to land another one of these so easily" he says towards the men, looking at the corpse behind him before turning around again. "Stay calm guys" he addes, looking into the woods, not really in a condition to fight another one of these, atleast not with his left arm swinging his axe. Although his fighting spirit's stronger than his pains and lack of power, this might not hold for long.

Iver get up and pick marco from the groun, "Im nit leaving you again" He said as he grabbed his friend and walked toward the center of the group.

"I er..." he said, looking to the side. "Some beast attacked us and I started running, I s'pose at some point I tripped and started rolling downhill till I ended in this merry lil stream. Who's he?" he said, pointing at the stranger.

"Quiet soldier." Hering would say upon arriving alongside the rest of the rushing men, staring at the creature briefly, disgust written on his face as he'd stride up to the clearly disoriented man, possibly from the shock of whatever happened and grabbed ahold of his breastplate, shaking him and looking at him in the eyes. "You aren't in charge anymore, the SISF are now in control of this operation." He'd tell the man, letting go of the breastplate and calling around to the assembled group of Black Cloaks, Karolti, and Gondorians. "Hurry back soldiers! We need to defend the injured and convoy. Pethon, you and six others cover our back, Ramdir head to the front with also six and cover the front and warn the hideout. Everyone else with me! FOR GONDOR!" Hering would cry out, raising his bow into the air with the war cry.

"Hey-hey-hey." Card protested as the hobbit started ranting at him, how far had he fucked up in the future. Or were they talking about the Silmaril? Had he already messed up? "He's Daugo's son? What happened to his father, but who are you two?" The Dunlending asked the woman and the old man.

"That is definitely not good." Ha'zi remarks. He moves closer to the Karoltai group, deciding against running away this time.

"Calm down a bit, Card." Ha'zi said, "You're still getting used to this. And so are they." He motioned to the others with a nod of his head.

The old man shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "We rescued our good friend Mister Burgins' son before-" Ha'zi raised his hand, cutting off the man.

"Remember what we discussed. No information. He cannot be allowed to know about it." Then the Haradrim turned on the Dunlending. "No questions. All you need to know is that these are the last of humanity. Take a good look around. This is what happens when Morgoth dies. That's why I did what I had to do." Ha'zi sighed, "That's why I saved him. Do you understand, Card?"

The woman remained silent and the old man seemed almost distraught, looking at the floor in shame.

"Attacked? By wha-"

"Salmar, creator of the Ulumuri. At your service." The figure interrupted Eonwe, his hands wildly motioning to Daugo, "And you are?"

There was division amidst the Gondorians. The rangers the black cloaks formed up around Hering whilst the survivors of the cavalry regiment, who were a minority, gathered to Arandil. Yet it was clear that Hering was in charge of the situation far more so than Arandil as the rangers knocked their bows and began aiming in each direction.

"Retreat to the remainder of the convoy!" Galador yelled at the injured men and Karoltai. "You're useless here, start running. We'll handle the situation!"

More whistles and suddenly a set of bushes began to rustle and three of the bestial creatures emerged, surrounding the organized men. Ha'zi, Sigeric and Dimitri noticed the closest one was eight meters away whilst Thoruk saw another to his left; Iver encountered none as he rushed away with Marco.

"Dunno, Ëon--" he began replying before Salmar interrupted Ëonwë. "Daugo Burgins, at your service," he said in his friendliest and most harmless tone. "May I ask what these Oolumree are?"

Ha'zi gulps, then looks down at his stubs. "You know, arms, this would be an excellent time to start regenerating!" He looks around for options of what he could do in this scenario.

"Fucking hell, guess we better get the fuck out of this mess before these black cloaks start to fall down in mere seconds. An honorable death can wait another day. Follow me, take the injured and unconscious with you. Get to Magath and the rest of the convoy. Ill cover your backs."

"The Ul-oo-mooo-ry are my greatest creations. They are the music of the sea." Salmar held up one of the conchs tied to his wet weedy belt and whispered a few words in that strange dialect to it. Slowly Daugo's pointed ears picked up a vocalization. Soft and mellow but rising from the deep. It resonated through his soul, almost as if running along his bones. He felt waterfalls and streams, the blood in his body, then waves and drifts, slowly a storm and his body grew chill and rigid, then shallow splashing and the playful tones of the Shire came to him. He saw the Brandywine and remembered his family, his childhood, the nostalgia clipping into him. It was long ago when he was younger and his ancestors' fame and fortune remained untarnished. The good ol' days. When his father and brother were there with him. Before Bree, before the island, before all of this crap. Then the tunes faded and he was once again cold and wet on the shores of the stream next to Eonwe and the other Ainu.

Ha'zi saw some people retreating after the convoy to wherever they were being led whilst the rangers and black cloaks held their ground. His arms gave him no answer and that in itself was an answer.

The beasts singled out their targets and leapt from the shadows. One rushed the formation of soldiers, the other chased after the retreating men including Iver, and the third leapt towards Sigeric and Dimitri.

Daugo sighed deeply and wiped a tear off his cheek, hoping it would blend in with the multiple droplets that were running down his face from his little swim a few moments ago. "That's deep shit bro" "What a beautiful song," he said with the voice of melancholy. He was at a loss on what to say, which was strange, because he always knew what to say.

Salmar smiled, "Of course. I created it. It can soothe the minds of those in pain. A trick of the trade I learned from Lady Nienna." He removed a small conch from a pouch attached to his belt and tossed it at the Hobbit, "You have a damaged heart, my tiny associate. When you need advice, blow into it and the sea shall answer."

Eonwe waited until Salmar was done before he asked, "Master Burgins, what has attacked? One of the Enemy's servants? Another Karoltai? Manwe?" He paused for a moment, "Sauron?"

"Oh shit" Iver said as the beast charged at his group, he dropped marco and said "One of you fucking call for the elves or something" as he pulled his maia blade, ready to at least slow down the beast before the elves will come to save them

"Oh, ok, but could I at least get each of your names..." Cardiloc shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "Hell, what's the plan, what are we going to do?"

"We-" Ha'zi turned to the rest of them, "Have no hope left in this world. I can only take one or two people at a time. Four at maximum but I will expend all my energy to do so. When I regain my full strength I'll hop your ass back to your time and you can accomplish what we failed to do. You're going to beat Morgoth. Defeat him before we can destroy Middle-Earth. But keep him alive. Then you're going to do the same to Manwe. With both of their combined power they can defeat the beast that has consumed our world. For now, you stay here and wait. No wondering about. We'll feed you, whatever we can spare, until I can return you. Got it, Card?"

The old man stood and exited the hall leaving the woman, Ha'zi and Cardiloc alone.

Iver found that the beast was charging towards Sigeric and Dimitri, not him. He was, surprisingly, for once, in the clear. Yet...he could run as the soldiers commanded him to or he could stand and fight. Which would it be? Logic or stupidity? Ha'zi, on the other hand, was able to run away and passed Iver and the derelict body of Marco.

A volley of arrows unleashed on the first hound, raking its face. It backed up slightly and curled away, twisting around and leaping through the air whilst a set of spikes flew at them. Someone screamed and three of the men fell, a projectile embedded into one of their eyes. The beast saw Arandil coming and opened its maw to bite him, running on all fours at the lance corporal.

Arandil grabbed one of the arrows and threw it with all his might right into the open mouth of the beast from hell.He then immediately rolled out of it's path.
