VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

Arandil approached the dwarf, wanting to chat with him, to get to know the dwarf better and to see and admire the true stubbornness of the dwarves. He got up and left Magath who was questioning the giants. He sat next to the dwarf and said:
"So, what do you make of all of this, all of this chaos and madness? This madness and stupidity. I fear that more Gondorians will be thrown to die as cannon fodder against those bastards. But it seems we have no other choice. Hope is fading, and swiftly, neither the Free People nor the your kin can save us from this chaos we have been plunged into. But maybe just maybe, if we unite the people together, all of them, before it's too late, we might have a chance. Perhaps even if we do unite the whole damn continent, it might be all in vain.
We might all end up buried and rotting in the ground, without tombs or a funeral, but we will die fighting, will we not? master dwarf. Will we give those fuckers a fight they will remember till the end of Arda?"

Everyone seemed to ignore Arandil's conversation as they continued to question Iver who's answers only served to raise further questions.

"I slew half a dozen of the smaller ones. They did not appear to be controlled by a shifter for one did not appear when I cut out the name," Glorfindel stated, curiously, "Care to explain that?"

"You must be good with remembering names," Someone scoffed at Iver.

"Can you identify them? Possibly illustrate them? We need a way of locating them should they attempt to infiltrate our ranks again or worse...enter the city. The destruction caused by those beastly creatures..." He did not need to finish the sentence.

It was clear that the proto-giants could not be allowed to come close to a populated area. Otherwise, Eru knows what could occur.

"Well, i have no idea at all what are you talking about. I got picked up by that giant who got in his nape the kid named Equas" Iver said as he started connecting the pieces in his mind.
"Yup, I have a great memory" Iver replied to the second guy.
"I can identify them and if you want ill even draw a sketch later" Iver answered the third and last guy.

"Mhm?" Thoruk grumbles as he looks towards the gondorian and stops cleaning his axe. "Ah, better have a talk with him than listening to that boring conversation over there.." he thinks as he listens to the gondorian and puts his axe away again. "Aye, at least one of ya guys is able to see the truth, the truth that this will all be a slaughter, one way or another. But I can tell you this lad, I'll fight whatever the odds are like lad. My kin? I'm not sure yet what my king will decide. But I guess they will fight side to side with your men, since dwarves won't die like cowards, hiding in their mountain. But we dwarves might be at a disatvantage in the open space, so we have to consider preparing a trap for the hordes of Morgoth, maybe in some woods or even at a hill, that's what I'd say lad" he says as he nods towards Arandil. "How bout you lad, will you fight with us again or do you aldo think we're monsters that can't be trusted?" he asks the gondorian.

"I've been through hell with you, what in fuck's sake do you think Ill say? I damn bloody trust you fuckers to the death. You could have left my sorry ass to deal alone with my kin when that gem was found, but you helped me and restrained yourself as much as you could. You helped me kill one of those beasts that attacked us, and because of you I managed to fall back after another encounter with one of those foul beasts. I haven't truly met the rest. But judging from you, and me trying my best to disregard mine and that hobbit's madman chase, I can say you people are trustworthy and cunning. Besides, you might be our only hope in surviving these dark times."

"Oi oi wait a moment. I'm not 'ere to point fingers, but I had that shifter situation handled," interjected Daugo after having listened to all this nonsense. He was, by now, accustomed to a certain degree of tomfoolery from his companions, but they didn't fail to surpise him every now and then. "Ah, this is hopeless," he groaned.

Cardiloc looked at her, his mouth agape. “But... your kin, they ambushed us, we fought for some time. But you stopped, at least that’s what happened in my timeline, what happened in your past.” Cardiloc questioned Aranel.

"My kin, heh." She scoffed a bit, "To be frank with you. They were never truly my kin. Only a few of them...." She paused. "Anyways, my past isn't quite interesting. Let's just say that there's a lot of bad blood. Spilt blood. And more blood. It's quite bloody." She smirked slightly, "Anything else you want to ask? It's quite late actually and I'd rather like some sleep."

"Where were Tulkas' companions? Where was Eonwe the Treacherous and Stadus the Champion? Where were my-" The voice cut then resumed, "How was it possible that Sauron the Deceiver managed to enact such an atrocity?" The room grew warmer and it was almost as if a heat pressed against Dimitri. Something emanating warmth which brought life into his chilled limbs.

"Scribe, make sure to get a sketch of these apparent foes once this meeting is adjourned," Magath ordered the note-taker nearby him.

"If you remember so well then why can't you tell us what the enemy Giants can do?" Someone yelled at Iver from the survivors. Things were becoming heated.

"There were a couple of these Giants," Glorfindel interjected on Iver's behalf. "I will give an analysis of those that I encountered to King Aragorn in private." This seemed to quiet down the rabble.

There was a sudden crash and everyone went quiet. At the end of the northern portion of the table, the King had raised his hand.

"Horsemen of the third cavalry regiment, please take your leave. You will find suitable accommodation, provisions, and treatment on the fourth level of the Tower of the Guard. I am in debt to your services. Karoltai, you may remain seated. I have further queries to discuss."

Magath and the two dozen able-bodied survivors stood and began to leave without further interruption before Captain Vardamir, who had been watching the entire summit in silence piped up with a whistle, "Magath. Wait. The rest of you out."

The black rangers began escorting the survivors out and Hering found one of them, some young twat-looking greenboy speaking to the dwarf was not leaving. He'd have to move him along.

Arandil saw his fellow compatriots be ordered to leave. What would he do?

"Knowing and remembering is not the same thing you mud-head" Iver replied before the room went quiet. Iver looked around confused, was it the insult? He was about to apologize but then the king spoke and he quickly sat his ass on the chair.

"Ah fuck, guess it's time to go. I might try and visit you lot later. I want to get to know the bunch of halfwits or geniuses I'm going to be fighting with side by side.May Eru protect you, master dwarf, and may your enemies tremble and flee at your very sight." And with that he got up, he went to Magath. He had not heard the orders of Captain Vadmir and so he went straight to Magath and put his arm on his shoulder.
"It's time to go Captain, we better rest well, and take it easy for a few moons. We've just gotten but a taste of what hell awaits us and you know it. Also, I want to speak with you privately..".

"Me to." Cardiloc yawned. "It's been a long day, and exhausted." The Dunlending got up, and prepared to leave. "Uh, where do we sleep?" He turned back to Arandel.

"Ugh," Aranel stood up and grunted, "Follow me, rookie." She walked towards the exit and without waiting for him disappeared behind the corner.

"He stays." Vardamir indicated Magath to Arandil. The Captain nodded to Hering to escort Arandil out.

"Wait. This one has valuable information on one of the Giants. He may be useful here. And I trust him." Magath told Vardamir.

The Captain of the Black Rangers raised an eyebrow and glanced towards the King. After a brief moment of silence he shrugged, "Both of you back to your seats."

The King addressed the Karoltai once the doors were shut and all the non-essential personnel had left.

"Our mutual cooperation must be assured. To do this we must have a set of understandings and regulations. These shall be transcribed to you within the next few days as soon as they can be written down. In the meantime, I offer you residence in the city. Before we take into account these issues...."

"Would you prefer any specific requirements? Do you have any desires while working in conjunction with the Free Peoples?"

"Dead or scattered into the wind. Eonwe was dealt a great blow, Stadus the Champion of beloved Tulkas slain in battle alongside my beloved master.' Dimitri said. "I know not how that black-hearted swine killed Tulkas Exalted, perhaps some foul magic, but I swear before Eru Illuvatar and mine immortal spirit that he shall be avenged." Dimitri continued. He felt tears come to his eyes, and soon he wept. For the fallen in Mordor, immortal Eldar and brave Gondorian alike. For his adoptive parents, taken to some distant lands for his own crimes. For the Maia of Tulkas, those mighty champions who fell in glorious battle, but ultimately in vain. And he wept most for his beloved Tulkas, his hero, his role model, his god. He dedicated his life to him, but now his master was gone.

Hering would go to escort the man out, hand still on his sword before pausing at the the orders. Nodding he'd go back to where he had originally be standing, remaining quiet throughout the ordeal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Is it possible for us to have a shared room?" Sigeric would say quickly. Having nothing else to say, at the moment at least

Daugo cleared his throat and stood up. "I need a message to be sent to my wife and children. My companions forced me to leave them without any explanation, so I should like Your Majesty to excuse me with them. In addition, I would be much more disposed to be of help if I knew they had safe lodgings and a stable income. I ask that they be formally invited to stay here in Minas Tirith. If this is done, I swear to serve the realm of Gondor and the Free Peoples until my dying breath, since their fate would be my children's fate."

"If it's not too much... I'd request some weapons for myself, or, better, allowing all of us access to an available armory. Quite a few of us lost much-needed gear from this journey... so it'd be great if we could have a bit of a restock."

Arandil sat next to Magath and whispered in his ear, for he feared if the words he would utter were heard by others, all hell would break loose.
"Back in the forest, as we were carrying the wounded before those wolf-like beasts of death attacked, we were talking about something, two traitors among the survivors. And if they are in the city we won't have much time before they get bored. We should take each and every survivor and find those two. We cannot risk civilians being butchered and massacred, and more importantly, the King will be in grave danger."
And with those words Arandil went silent, he felt... fear... gripping tight, he felt like something was eating him from the inside. He himself was tempted to panic and go mad. The one thing he feared, was civilians dying to these bastards, and now there were possibly two of them in the most populated and important city of the Kingdom of Men.

"Hm he's definitely not like the other men, trying to use us." Thoruk thinks as Arandil bids farwell. Yet this farwell doesn't seem to take long as he's ordered to stay with them. "Requirements? Aye, ya won't have what I need here. As soon as this is over I'll return to the north, there I'll get everything necessary and train with my kin." he says, yet after a short break adds something to it. "Well, actually I might be grateful if I could sharpen my axe in one of your blacksmiths." he says as he holds his axe with both hands, showing it to Aragorn.
