"The only two that I know of are on our side." Sigeric replied. "Iver can take the form of a giant bat. If he were to return from the North, I don't see why he would attack the capital, even if he is rather unpredictable." He paused. "Cardiloc is able to transform into myriad flying creatures. He disappeared almost a year ago. No one knows where he is or why he left..." Or if he is still alive at all, Sigeric thought to himself, though he did not voice this concern aloud. I should have gone in search of him... He felt a sudden pang of remorse. The combination of their exhaustion after Mordor, the chaos caused by the Iron Hunter, Celeborn's death, and their rush to get the wounded to safety had eclipsed everyone's concern for Cardiloc at the time. In truth, they had barely noticed that he was missing. What if he had fallen into the clutches of Morgoth? What if he had been captured along with Dimitri? And of course, Sigeric's worst fear of all was that the young man had been turned into a servant of Morgoth, just as Grimnir had. All of these thoughts registered during the small pause in Sigeric's speech. He purged them from his mind. Worrying about such things now was useless. "...As for Morgoth's prototypes, I don't know of any that can fly. It is certainly possible that some of his experiments may have the ability."
