VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

Card was deaf, so he had no idea what Berethor was saying, but he could see what he meant. He had a knife to Marco’s throat. In the split second he had he tried to feel time slow, as it had before.

"The only two that I know of are on our side." Sigeric replied. "Iver can take the form of a giant bat. If he were to return from the North, I don't see why he would attack the capital, even if he is rather unpredictable." He paused. "Cardiloc is able to transform into myriad flying creatures. He disappeared almost a year ago. No one knows where he is or why he left..." Or if he is still alive at all, Sigeric thought to himself, though he did not voice this concern aloud. I should have gone in search of him... He felt a sudden pang of remorse. The combination of their exhaustion after Mordor, the chaos caused by the Iron Hunter, Celeborn's death, and their rush to get the wounded to safety had eclipsed everyone's concern for Cardiloc at the time. In truth, they had barely noticed that he was missing. What if he had fallen into the clutches of Morgoth? What if he had been captured along with Dimitri? And of course, Sigeric's worst fear of all was that the young man had been turned into a servant of Morgoth, just as Grimnir had. All of these thoughts registered during the small pause in Sigeric's speech. He purged them from his mind. Worrying about such things now was useless. "...As for Morgoth's prototypes, I don't know of any that can fly. It is certainly possible that some of his experiments may have the ability."

"Thanks dude, ill be right back" Iver said before sprinting towards the last point he saw Miriel at. If Equas would try to block him he would use his superior speed to pass him by.

Hering sent a disgusted look at the man. What a cunt he was. But a cunt good at his job that was for sure. When had he arrived? Last he had heard or seen the man was 11 months ago when he along with the captain and a few other rangers left somewhere with the Karolti. Hering would go to stand and observe the situation.

As Iver started running, Equas moved to block him but he sprinted past like a maniac and suddenly his legs flipped over and he crashed into the ground. The dirt flew up in his face as he fell. His speed had faltered. Was he tired?

"Yellena, please do help our guest." The man said and the woman obeyed, moving over to pick Iver up.

"We should kill them for bringing Aranel here. She could have-"

"But did she? No. Now take a seat Equas." He commanded him. Equas hesitated but obeyed taking a seat

The man glanced at Thoruk and Arandil. "My name is Lasser. Now would y'all please sit. I'm sure the refreshments will be here soon."

"Hello there," The reply came. "And what might your name be young one?" The man squinted at Daugo.

Hering found himself in the Houses of Healing. There were a few other rangers there. But so many others had been injured...had they died? He couldn't find Pethon, Tildir or Glorfindel. This entire operation was botched from the start.

"If it is one of your friends. I need to know if you can bring yourself to fight."

Time began to slow. Cardiloc saw it all. The Serpent banking leftwards, descending as the weight brought it down; Glorfindel, his eyes filled with determination rushing towards Berethor and the Screaming Shifter with the dagger drawn, without a care in the world for the threat; the knife being brought ever closer to Marco's throat; Tytus about to shout and the beautiful skies a pale blue. In a way, it was almost beautiful.

Arandil would happily accept the man's offer. It would be better than getting slammed in the dirt.
"We deeply thank you sir Garath, you cannot comprehend how grateful I am."

Without a moments hesitation, Card ripped the wing off with his talons and launched himself at Berethor his claws first, he’d grab ahold of his right hand and wrench it away from Marcos throat. He’d then fling Berethor off the snake. Then he’d fly after the falling Marco to catch him with his claws.

Thoruk would merely nod as the man tells his name. "Garath... never heard of him" Thoruk thinks, taking a seat. "Not sure why all of them follow his commands... I doubt I've seen him before, yet he seems to be someone of great power, otherwise they wouldn't obey his commands like that..." Thoruk would think, not sure of what to think of this whole sudden change of events, yet he said there was food coming, not bad either. And so he takes of his helmet and waits for things to happen, keeping an eye on the man.

Iver tried to get up, what happened to his powers?. "Thanks for the offer, but i really need to check something before we can sit down and have a conversation" Iver said as he sprinted one more time.

Lasser merely nodded at Arandil and noticed Thoruk staring at him. "Ya have my name. Now yars?" Then Iver started running again.

"Pity. Yellena, do fetch him." Lasser muttered before returning his eyes to the dwarf and the Gondorian.

Iver managed to normally sprint away from their little gathering and through the village. Although, he was unsure of where he was going. He could hear someone trailing him from behind.

Everything seemed to work as planned. The eagle's talons shredded through the left wing, slicing it off the Serpent. The beast plummetted almost immediately, swaying left and its right-wing flipping upwards as it tipped vertically. He then managed to reach Berethor, passing the Screaming Shifter just as he began to yell. The air rippled slowly as a wave of sound blasted through it heading straight for Glorfindel. Then the Serpent flipped and they were all thrown off balance.

Just as Cardiloc's claws wrapped around Berethor's right arm and pulled the blade away, it slit Marco's throat as it was coming clean due to the violent jerking of the Serpent. Berethor was nevertheless thrown with a rather surprised look forming on his face. So too did Tytus and Marco. Yet the latter began to glow. Cardiloc saw his eyes open and a bright golden light erupted from them.

Iver looked behind as he kept on running, what was chasing him? Why was he running to a random direction? Why did he only have one boot? Who was that Garath guy? He thought as he changed direction toward the last place he saw Miriel at.

So many questions. Only one was answered. It was the rather large looking female who was quite ugly that was chasing him. He heard Lasser call her something like Yelper or Yeller.

He spotted Miriel turn at the edge of the village and soon he reached that site.

"Thoruk, son of Thrak. A proud member of Durins folk" Thoruk would say, still not sure if he should trust this man. "Wonder where Iver is trying to go, I guess one of these girls has to be dead after what've seen. Yet... what if Arandil was the nearest non-shifter?.." Thoruk would think about some possibilites as the others where allowed to introduce themselves.

Iver kept on running, maybe once he will get further from Lasser his powers will be back, he didn't know how this shit worked but he did remember back in Morgoth's dungeon that someone complained that Lasser disabled his powers. He would try to run faster a little bit, nothing that will make him crash, but enough to see if he can use his powers back and if he would succeed, good luck trying to catch him.
Once he would get close to Miriel he would slow down "Is she?....." he would ask if he would reach her.

Card pushed Marco away at that instant, aiming to push himself off in the process, he willed for time to slow again. This was bad.

Sigeric nodded. "I understand why you would be concerned. I shall fight if I must. If it is one of my friends, however, I will take them alive, if not unharmed." He scanned the horizon. "Of course, we have to catch up to them first."

"My name is Arandil son of Leanor, of the Kingdom of Gondor. So, without trying to sound impatient, when are those drinks coming?"
