VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

“Huh?” Rambo looked around for who had just spoken, he’d look down at Daugo and spoke. “Apologies... little one?” He had clearly never seen a hobbit before. “I’m Sergeant Rambo of the 5th Black Ranger Squadron, former leader of the fourth team, yet to be reassigned, what was that??” He asked.

Mirecyla looked furiously at the girl, ready to make some remark when Even stepped in, a look of sadness and understanding coming when he told her why they were prisoners, and then a look of mocking and surprise when the White Tree was mentioned. What was the big deal anyways, it was just a stupid tree. She'd think to herself before throwing her hands up and turning around. "Fine you win! We'll go the normal route, but before you leave I got a few questions. What level are we on, how far away is the exit, what do you know about the Black Rangers, and for both if you what are your fears? I realize it is an odd question but I have a few ideas that can help us escape. Any phobias, fears, or even monsters that you'd fear. Both imaginary and real of course."

On the spot, actually, he'd numbly think to himself in response to Mateus's words. Shin turned back to the duel now that his main attention occupying source had gone, absentmindedly placing his bets on Keratos. He didn't know why exactly he wasn't training like the rest, but he didn't complain anyways.

The ranger’s gaze mainly was set on the developing fight, though he occasionally glanced back and forth to needlessly inspect his crossbow. Just as he watched Keratos start to dodge many blows, the ground suddenly shook, and his beloved, nearby weapon teetered in a way that brought him much alarm. Hastily, he went to clutch it against him before it could possibly fall and get damaged. “Guess the gods don't appreciate my jokes,” Shin grumbled to himself, his mouth set in a scowl as he stood up uneasily. “Hey, what's going on?!” He shouted over to his comrades.

--------------------------------------------
“Huh?!” Ha'zi said, waking up with a start. “Ugh… Sigeric… what the heck's going on now?” He murmured-asked, stretching and gradually waking.
--------------------------------------------
“Oh… Oh, Bernadette…,” Galador blissfully mumbled in his sleep, engrossed in a particularly lucid dream in which he was having s- some quality time catching up with an old friend. Yeah, let's call it that. A few more amused sounds escaped, though far harder to make out this time around to any near. It was clear that he had lost the struggle against staying awake, succumbing to the desires of unconsciousness. Unfortunately for Galador right at this moment, the tables were turned on the alluring state of mind as the quakes started, breaking him from his trance- right as it was about to get good, too. Grumbling, the soldier looked around as to find out what had disturbed him, then fully registered what had just hit. “Daugo! Hey, Daugo, where are you at, mate?!” He started to call, gazing randomly for the hobbit, eyes wide.

Sigeric jolted out of his bed, grabbing his shortsword from underneath his pillow. After affirming that the threat was not in the immediate room and that he was not being assassinated, he paused to listen. Something was amiss. He quickly dressed, and responded to Ha'zi through telepathy, since they were not in the same room. "Get up. We're about to find out." He approached the door to his quarters and opened it.

“Daugo?” Rambo raised his eyebrows, looking over at Galador. Did he mean... Like... thehe Daugo? TheThe Behemoth Giant?

Dimitri felt better, but the feeling in his heart distressed him. He had never known such a feeling in his many years of being Manwe's servant. Was it related to his feeling of losing something? Did it have to do with that strange woman who knew his name? Doubt stirred in his heart, and he looked back out across Valianor to try and calm himself.

"O-on the fourth" she'd say, surprised by the questions that suddenly rained upon her. The exit is a bit away, yet I know a lot of shortcuts. B-black rangers? They guys with the robes? I've only seen them once or twice, they are the elite I think. Uhm f-fears? I don't like to f-fight, it makes me feel unconfident." she'd say, thinking about something. Yet besides the fear of having to fight she didn't know one. She had nothing to lose anymore. "I-I can't hurt someone, I'm not a fighter, but besides that I can't think of anything right now. I don't have anything to lose" she'd say, casually smiling above this fact.

Days passed by as Thoruk found his way up the river and eventually he came by villages and hamlets that littered the Celduin-vale. Some folk even waved by at him. A fisherman gave him a dirty look but nothing major occurred. He had to keep scooping fish out of the water, a neat trick he learned by manipulating the currents, in order to feed himself. He also learned how to distill water using his flames without setting the dingy on fire.

--------------------

"Lead the way..." Evenis tried to find a name for her, "What's your name?" He just outright asked. Endo was coming back to his senses and muttered, "You." At Mirecyla's question whilst Even ignored it. He was too focused on their escape to dabble in such trivial matters.

-----------------------

"What..." The man gripped his head and steadied himself as the crowd passed by obliviously.

"The rangers...on the fourth level." He muttered. And shook his head.

----------------------

The rumbling continued for a few seconds before ceasing. Keratos shrugged, "Earthquake."

As the two larger men were packing away their training materials, the door to the courtyard was thrown open. There stood three rangers. Shin recognized them immediately. Those snobs from the eleventh division. They were the only rangers that Shin knew could compete with them.

"We have a problem." The first, a man named Kurio said.

"The prisoners have escaped," Arthor, the second said.

The third, Cochran raised his head high, "We've been assigned by General Belzagar to Squadron Ten. And we're tasked with cooperating with you on capturing them."

"Our priority is the elf. He must be killed at all costs. He is too dangerous to be allowed to escape. The very existence that he poses is a threat to Gondor." Kurio continued. "The General also wants the others alive. Specifically, the girl. He has plans for her. Understood?"

Keratos grit his teeth then answered. "Understood, Lieutenant."

Furdin, Shin and Mateus all had differing opinions of these men. Furdin saw them as competition, Shin saw them as noble-trash, and Mateus viewed them as comrades. They all had varying histories with each man but now they were set to work together. And work they would.

------------------

Galador's eyes adjusted to the light in the hall and he recognized the hobbit and another ranger, Rambo, that haradrim bastard talking to one another in the hallway.

As Sigeric and Ha'zi both dressed then emerged from their rooms, both men caught sight of the third member of their party being hounded by Rambo, the man who had captured the Serpent Shifter.

------------

The sky grew lighter.

"My child, look to the east. Across the sea. Look into the distance." Manwe commanded Dimitri, setting him to glance in the opposite direction.

"Thank you." He nodded to the citadel guard gratefully. "I uh... didn't get your name mister." He looked over at the man.

This was awkward. Rambo noted, he looked over at Sigeric and Ha'zi. "Karoltai, what do you think that was, an earthquake?" He asked hesistantly.

"Mairon the Deciever," Ilian cursed, "Is this guy serious?" She asked no one in particular within Cardiloc's mind. "What, are you going to ask for his home details as well? What sort of leather is his underwear?"

"Uhh, Dallon." The guard said unsure of how to respond.

12700073

Rambo shook it, his grasp strong. He gave the little man a kindly smile. "I, like you little master, am not from Gondor. I hail from far to the south, even among your own fellow Karoltai you like I with the rest of Gondor stand out. We are similar in this." He mused, "Well met, though, Daugo the Halfling." He nodded to the halfling.

"A little friendliness doesn't harm anyone, something you should remember Illian." Cardiloc thought back to the voice in his head. "Well met, Dallon. Let's head to the fourth level then." He started walking towards it.

A fine travel it was. So quiet. The views all over the place were gorgeous. If he had known that alongside this river there were so many different things... woods, small villages, even some gorgeous, big animals who seemed to fit well in this kind of biome, he had taken a trip to this place earlier. Yet he had no time to lose and take a long stop to look at everything. And so he moved on, day for day.

--------------

"My name? Oh m-my name is Tamara or just 'the shadow' as the guards call me" she'd answer. "What about you?"

Mirecyla would rub her brows "Alright I may of lied, that does nothing for us really for when it comes to escaping, at least I think so at least." She turned around and smiled at Endo "Thank you dear, now if you could stand up that'd be very pleasant and it would save us all some very much needed energy." She'd grin before spinning around once more. At this rate she was going to throw up.

"Why do they call you the shadow Tamaraw? As of our names that cunt who we had to carry is Endo the sensor, this man next to me is the great and lovable Evenis the serpent, we call him Even." She'd then grin and do a deep and majestic bow "and I am the Goddess of Death, the feared one, Ms Fear, Mirecyla! The Executioner. Now, you stop stuttering, we won't harm you as long as you don't harm us, and stop stuttering, your a damned near grown woman." Leaning over to Even she'd little punch him on the shoulder "Can you tell me your shit now you oaf?"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mateus would look around at the assembled men, "Well if anyone is going to do it then it'll be us. Gather your things, we head out immidietly." He'd turn to Cochran and ask "Is there anything else we need to know or is that it?" He'd ask while gathering his armor and weapons.

A sound of disgust emanated from Shin when he saw the “Three Jackass-keteers”, a nickname that he had thought of a while back that had unfortunately not caught on. Still applied to them greatly, though. Especially that Cochran… the rich douche. But for all their assholery, they had gospel; and that was what he chose to focus on. Hunting season was now afoot. “Understood… as long as I get the elf,” He spoke, a mischievous grin creeping up his face.
--------------------------------------------
Ha'zi wearily nodded, grabbing his bastard sword which he had slid under his bed. After accomplishing the various preparations, he followed the Dalishman out, tired but trying to overcome it. He hadn't had the best of sleep, the past deciding to pay a visit in his head. Ripe for the occasion, the gut-wrenching, heavy thoughts of Miriel, Mandos and his doomsaying, and the calamity that was their odyssey. Memory lane was pushed aside for ruin's road, ghosts and shades occupying it every step of the darkened way.

He shuddered at the thoughts, then sighed. Whatever this situation was wouldn't come any close to those damning, repetitive nightmares… he hoped. And it would seem to be true as he caught sight of… “Daugo? What are you doing here?” Ha'zi asked aloud to the hobbit, surprised after not seeing him for so long.

--------------------------------------------
“Woah, woah, woah! What the hell are you doing here, dirt?” Galador would exclaim, marching right up and moving between the two, bumping Rambo aside.

"I don't remember the last time I felt an earthquake that was actually natural." Sigeric said. "I'm not going to assume that this one is, either. Let us investigate the cause." He noticed the halfling. When had he gotten there? "Good to see you here as well, Daugo." Sigeric considered the likely causes of the tremor. The most likely was the transformation of a shifter. Had Cardiloc or Evenis been idiotic enough to transform in the dungeons, or were the other protos attacking the city to rescue their comrade? Maybe the cause was something entirely mundane, but Sigeric knew that the safest option was to assume the worst. He activated his powers, searching the city and attempting to lock onto the mental signatures of Cardiloc, Evenis, and Glorfindel, filtering out those minds that were unfamiliar in order to save energy.

Daugo nodded back at Rambo before turning to the Karoltai. "Why, hullo, Haz, Sig. Is it really necessary to go investigate, Sigeric?" he said to the Dalishman, keenly aware of his hangover. "There are plenty others that can go have a look around, and it's probably just a normal quake in any case.."

Mateus would grasp his spear/pike, hoisting it up and examining the weapons head, deciding it was fine he'd respond to Shin "Don't underestimate him, you saw what happened at the battle Shin. However i suppose you can get the kill, if your fast enough that is." He'd glance at Shin out of the corner of his eye.

Sigeric responded, careful not to drop his concentration. "Maybe it is a normal quake, but I would like to be certain of that. Besides, you needn't accompany us if you do not wish to. Even if you were able to transform without destroying the city, you wouldn't have the energy to do so. You're still drained from our training session. It's your choice."

"I would stay here," he replied, surveilling Sigeric's concentrated expression, "but you need someone sensible with you. Just keep me away from bright lights and life-threatening situations."

"So, I guess I'm not here then, Daugo," Ha'zi spoke up, annoyed. "Anyways, this is something we should look into. Even if it isn't abnormal, we've got two shifters in the dungeons. Something bad could happen with either."
------------------------------------------
Shin sneered. "Someone's in the competitive spirit, I see. Well if you saw what happened at the battle, that elf got taken out in seconds by none other than me. I've got this, with my beauty here," He says, gesturing to his crossbow.
