VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"I have no time for this" he'd think to himself, trying to get a small water fountain to push out of the lake and onto the dockmaster.

--------------

"This way" she'd say, leading them onwards, keeping an eye out for guards that might suprise them.

The sound of this offer, it was... wrong. Iver was about to refuse but it was so warm and nice. This... voice... it helped him, more than anyone did, at least ever since he left Dale for that foolish trip to Bree. She made him feel better, better than he felt in years, and looking back, all he could see was his pain and failures. His will power was feeble, his soul was slowly reaped apart and he was stripped from his power to resist.
"Yes.... please, save me" Iver whispered, embracing the voice and feeling harder.

"Iver," The girlish voice became deeper and he felt himself plummetting into a deep dark pool of emptiness, drowning in the peace that it brought him.

In the bed, Iver felt arms wrap around him, a shadow entering him, becoming one with him. Suddenly someone else entered the sheets, pushing Iver slightly and curling up against him. He felt flesh, soft warm flesh touch him and he awoke.

--------------------------

"Now, don't 'cha start ya wild sav-" The door flew open and there stood a little girl. She had grown nearly an entire foot taller and she looked nothing like when Cardiloc left her there. Her dark hair was tied back in a ribbon and she wore a floral gown that contrasted with her brown eyes and tan skin.

"CARD!" Ela cried and rushed out, pushing the gardener aside, jumping down the stairs and running into her brother's arms.

----------------------

"Whaaaaaa-" The fountain splashed the dock master into the lake. That was unexpected, yet, it dealt with the problem. Unfortunately, it also created further problems.

"Magic!" Someone cried and one of the dockyard workers transporting cargo dropped it and began to pray in the middle of the dock in front of Thoruk.

-----------------------

Tamara saw no guards so far as she navigated the streets. There were plenty of bystanders and they did stick out like sore thumbs. She was literally dressed like a thief and the others were wearing tattered bloody clothes.

----------------------

"Alright! We move out in one minute. Get your weapons and remember. We take them down at all costs. The girl is to be kept alive and the others are fair game!" Kurio said.

"You heard him, move it on the double!" Keratos beckoned and moved into the barracks to collect his armor and weapons, grabbing a towel and quickly wiping the sweat off his forehead and features.

Shin had his crossbow and was mostly prepared. He just needed the bolts which he kept under his matress for safe keeping.

Mateus required his helmet and armor. He was also sweating from the pushups.

Furdin was sweaty but it mattered little. He was always sweaty. He too needed his armor and greatsword as well as his tower-shield.

------------------

"Tytus! You're back!" Equas cried upon sighting the man trudging towards the village. He ran up to the bigger man and gave him a great hug. Tytus, hesitantly accepted it. Then they disengaged from one another. "Do you know where Miriel is?" He asked.

"Huh? Where's Even? Is Taras here too? Taras?!" He called out.

"Equas, please," Tytus muttered wearily.

"What about Mirecy and Endo? Did ya get 'em? Who's that you're carrying Ber?!" He said a bit too loudly.

"EQUAS!!" Tytus cracked. "I said where is Miriel?!"

"Huh..." Equas backed away. "Sh-she's sleeping."

"Get Raddis and Lasser. Call them out here."

"B-but they're probably resting too."

"I said get them."

"Uh...okay, Tytus. But why out here? What should I tell them?" He asked and looked at Berethor, specifically the body strapped to his back. The Armoured Giant Shifter was silent throughout the entire ordeal, his face masked in the shadows as the clouds covered over the moon that fateful night. "Who's that?" Equas repeated.

"The one who killed Joplin. Now, get them now." Tytus sighed and stared at the grass as Equas backed off and returned to the village. Once the boy had disappeared, he turned to his partner.

"Berethor?"

"Hmm," The Armoured Giant Shifter muttered.

"You know what's going to happen."

"Mhm."

"Are you with me?"

"It depends. If you win, I have no choice but to follow you. But if she does, then I'll gladly follow her. Miriel was right. We should have taken action. Not your bullshit diplomacy. Now look at us. Evenis is dead because of you and they have Mirecy-"

"Ber, I never mean-"

"They have Mirecy!" He repeated loudly.

Tytus went silent. "I understand. I hope one day you can forgive me, Ber. You know this is not what I wanted."

Berethor sighed. They waited there for five minutes before three figures approached under the darkness of the night.

“Ela.” He smiled to her, hugging her protectively. He’d stand back and beam. “Look what they’ve done to my wild sister, they’ve civilised you.” He said proudly, ruffling her hair. “I need to ask you something Ela, did two men call by?” He asked her.

Instead of an answer, Cardiloc received a dozen questions.

"Where have you been?!"
"What were you doing?!"
"Why didn't you stop by?!"
"Why are you so smelly?!"
"Who are your friends?!"
"Where is Ha'zi?!"
"Why do you look like dada?!"

She erupted furiously as tears streamed through her eyes and she reached up, failing to pinch his cheek.

Mirecyla walked on edge, not from the bells or any strange looks, not from looking out for guards or anyone else. But because she felt Evens fear, one she knew all to well and had kept hidden for as long as she could. It was horribly beautiful the stench of fear, but at that moment she wished she never was granted her power. She'd didn't like being forced to feel, breath, and live about its energies. All around her, from the smallest plants to the largest dragon, everything had a fear. It was impossible not to, it was just harder to reach for others...

She'd walk up to Even and put a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it in understanding and to let him know she was with him. Meanwhile she would reach out to the people around her, not those in her little rag tag group though. The citizens, she'd brush her magic against their brains, trying to sense what they feared while also absorbing if any, fear from those who stank more from it than the others. If she was able to do this she'd put it into her energy, not for increased senses, speed or strength. "I wish Gondor luck in the war to come." She murre do, continuing along.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You heard him boys, let's get to it." Mateus would say, going to grab a towel and wipe the sweat off of him while walking to get his armor, if he didn't find a towel he'd use his shirt. Meanwhile he'd go over what he knew about the prisoners.

"Good men, stand up. I have no business with you, I need to meet King Thorin as fast as possible, so please step aside." Thoruk would say, trying to move past him, trying to get his way towards the lonely mountain as fast as possible.

--------------

"We should hurry, if we get to much attention the secret path won't help us either." she'd say to them, going a bit faster.

Dimitri stared at his master for a moment before doing as he was instructed, but with fear in his heart.

--------------------------------------

Furdin wiped the sweat off his face, the eternal moisture dripping down his huge frame. If we was a weaker man, he would feel hatred for the men that commanded him. But he was no weak man. He was a son of Numenor, and he did not need that feeling. He felt only a cold determination to surpass them, to see them be passed up by his superior strength of will. He sought out his huge zweihander and his Rohan-esque plate armor, both treasured relics to him. He craved the hunt, and this Elf sounded like good prey. After grabbing his gear, he made for where the others gathered.

Oh no, who could it be? Iver thought to himself as someone touched him.
He painfully opened his eyes, expecting to see Orome with one of his idiotic smiles, ruining his one and only "day off" from this bullshit.

"B-bu-but..." Her protests died.

--------------------------

Mirecyla could feel their phobias. One was afraid of spiders, typical. Another feared the shadows. A third was frightened of the thought of losing their wealth. And on and on it went. These were common folk with common aspirations. Fearing loss and danger. They all clung to life. Like her. Mirecyla had noticed her claws had melted away leaving her normal, thankfully. She was walking in bare day light alongside Endo as they followed that Shadow Girl.

"I hope I never have to come back here," Even said plainly. "I never want to see the Slayer or any of those people again, especially not the other Giants." He heard Tamara's plea and acknowledged it by picking up the pace.

They were halfway there, or so Tamara thought by the route she was taking them on. Up ahead, she saw a squadron of guards marching down the street in formation. They were heading directly towards them.

---------------------------

Mateus found his armor but not the towel. In his mind, he remembered the detailed paperwork they had read from Belzagar's scribe on the giants. They had all been given ratings. The ones in particular that they were concerned about were the Terror Girl, the Serpent, and the unknown man. The girl was rated at a danger level of B whilst the Serpent was an A. The largest threat may be the man but he had yet to reveal any sort of power. For all they knew he may be the most formidable. Regardless, their main target was the elf. And his rating was S, far surpassing the combined strength of all three.

Keratos strode up to Furdin, their steel armor reflecting the sunlight as they stood outside the barracks. The trio of rangers from the eleventh was also present. Only missing were Shin and Mateus.

"Remember. All costs. If civilians are in the way, we're authorized to use force. However, I don't want to see Shin shooting our citizens for sport. If anyone disobeys orders, I will personally put them down." Kurio said taking control over the operation and unhooking a barbed whip which he held in a white-gloved hand. He stood out from the rest with his white cloak which directly contrasted with his subordinates black cloaks. "Any problems with that?"

-------------------------

Thoruk was left unbothered as some people stared in awe and others in mistrust whilst he walked past. The dock master spat water out as he resurfaced and clambered back onto the dock with much difficulty, bleating out curses as Thoruk walked through the city.

--------------------------

"Tell me, my child. What do you see?" Manwe asked Dimitri as he gazed out across the great oceans of Ulmo.

------------------------

Iver felt a finger on his lips. "Shhh," It was a soft voice. "It's okay." A hand felt its way around him and pushed him down. The figure slid over his body and he felt the nude touch of skin on skin. Faint blood stained hair fell over his face and he saw into the eyes of his violator. They were green.

"Just stay with me," He recognized Aranel's voice as she leaned down and placed a kiss upon Iver's lips.

"Hrmph," She followed Card's orders. The gardener stood aside. "But Miss Ela, we can't let a stinky barbar-"

"He's my brother!" She whined and pulled Cardiloc along into the house. Inside his eyes adjusted to the dimmness of the mansion and recognized the faint art of a little boy and his parents. The father was stern-faced with a large bushy moustache and a monocle whilst the mother was smiling softly and holding a rough-haired boy. He saw Marco's eyes in that boy.

Marco...

He had failed him.

What would he tell his mother? Who had taken Ela and sheltered her for over a year now? How would he explain that her son might as well be dead because he was too slow, weak, pathetic, useless, you name it, to protect him. His very own choice to attack the wing of the Serpent directly contributed to the mess in Anorien. It was his fault more than anyone else. And now he would live with that fact for the rest of his life, however, long it was.

12700073

Card would get Marco back, no matter what. He owed his mother that much and more, he reasoned. He knelt before Ela. “Ela, I’m sorry I’ve been gone for a long while, and I’m sorry I didn’t say goodbye to you properly. I was taken by someone, far away, and I learnt to better use the powers I have. I know this all sounds confusing, but I’ll tell you the rest in the future. Now, I need to know something from you, did two men show up here, their friends of mine Ela.” He explained to the girl.

Furdin nodded at his comrade, his zweihander rested on his shoulder. "A fine day for a hunt, is it not?" he said.

------------------

Dimitri thought long and hard about the answer, going through his 'library' of knowledge. Then, with supreme confidence, he gave a most intelligent answer, "Water."

"We can melt away Even, head over the mountains and past the seas. There has to be more to this world than what we know or heard of. If only we were left alone..." She'd say, flexing her wings while the phobias went through her mind, it was a list, and one she'd keep. However as she saw the guards approaching she tensed. Praying to lady fear Mirecla would open her palm and attempt to use the surrounding fear plus her magic to make them invisible. Inspire such terror that the guards and citizens wouldn't even feel it as they rendered the four as nothing but the molecules of the wind. "Everyone act normal or you'll screw me up." She said sternly heat riding to her cheeks
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mateus would grab his armor and head over to the assembled men. The girl and man would need to be taken down the soonest, the Serpent probuably outsmarted, but they'd all need to work together to capture the elf. "We'll need to take down the girl first. I expect Shin to take care of that. Keratos and Furdin you both handle the serpent. I along with Kurio can take down the man with the unknown powers." He'd motion to the two remaining rangers "If the elf happens to be with them distract him until we take out our targets. Don't underestimate any of them, from what I know each are extremely dangerous. This operation should be clean and swift, kill if you need to, if not, take them alive. Any objections?"

"I told you that it couldn't be a normal earthquake. It appears that Vardimir's team isn't present. We'll have to go on our own. Rambo, since you happen to be lacking your own men, you can join us. Now let's move. I have their positions." Only, Card's signature seemed to have disappeared. No, it had moved across the city in the blink of an eye! a few seconds later, it shifted position yet again. Maybe his tracking was off. They should go after Evenis and Glorfindel first. "Follow me." He said to Ha'zi, Daugo, and Rambo, moving to exit the barracks.

"Understood sir." Rambo nodded, following after Sigeric. "Those men who shot Glorfindel... their captain; he seemed alright. But the rest, I'm not sure, they might try to do something to Glorfindel in the chaos. And considering his state when the men took him down, I'm not sure he'll be open to working with us either." He informed Sigeric dutifully.

"Right, 'din." Keratos smiled at his partner's statement. Then Mateus began spurting out orders.

"Is he deaf?" Cochran asked.

"You follow our orders. You don't get to make your own. If you have an objection, I'll be happy to answer it." Kurio smirked with his smeared features creating an ugly smile. "Now do I have to repeat myself? Since the other one isn't back yet we leave."

"On the double!" Keratos barked as the trio of eleventh rangers made their way out of the barracks and out onto the streets, marching in the direction of the barracks.

Mateus had just been ripped a new hole in front of his team and by their new squad leader as well. This...this was beyond embarassing. He had to make this up...somehow. If he could...kill or capture one of them. He could prove himself.

------------

"Yes! The two men right?" Ela asked.

-----------

"Move out! Use signals to alert our men. Eleventh Squad make for the Underground. Fifth fan out and cover the streets. Karoltai, hold!" Ostopher ordered them.

The men marched out in bands until only Sigeric, Ha'zi, Daugo, Galador, a drunken Ramdir and Rambo were left behind.

"Don't you have squads?" He asked the three rangers.

"Anyway, I won't have any of you using your powers in the streets. Especially not you-" He motioned at Daugo, "The priority is protecting the citizens. If the enemy uses giant powers inside the city..."

The danger was clear enough.

---------------

The line of guards froze. The first man collapsed. The second began crying uncontrollably and suddenly the entire rank broke apart in tears. Some being paralyzed and others running away in fear.

"There they are!" Someone yelled and a dozen more guards circled from behind rushing after Mirecyla and Endo.

Her powers has failed her and now they were spotted.

“Aye Ela, where are they now?” He continued to question his sister.
[rule]
“Awaiting reassignment sir.” He explained to the man, before nodding at his commands.
