It didn't.
Michael, you don't understand what I tried to say, no fortress or idk what would hold long against them, they spawned EVERYWHERE.
3 doors? Pff, can be broken or used tnt on it.Cair had even more doors(Main gate, main gate of the keep, 2. level gate, 3. level gate, inner keep, road to Archenhall)
And how does natural defence help against witches making portals to spawn in blazes, zombies etc?Btw, your farm area was fairly flat and was a perfect spot for them and mountains were pretty flat too and they weren't that high around Forlond.
Forlond would have been much much harder to defend against demons.
And by ''Basically you couldn't have any empty spaces'' I literally meant that, if you had empty spaces they'd spawn there.
And for them, number of men didn't matter as some are stupid enough to jump in to them or just get knocked off/killed by them spawning behind. Ultimately you would run out of arrows, armour, weapons, food and you'd die.
And archery would help only a little.
Aaand what would have stopped Only from making a nice fireball rain?
You still don't seem to get me.
I didn't mean 3 doors. I mean that there are three layers of defenses, but unlike cair we don't put our defenses in a straight line so we could hole up in multiple places. This is an advantage as it allows for a bit of flexibility.
Zombies are managable. Blazes are less so. But we have underground sections and a keep, even if they fireballed those from teh air it would not have mattered.
Not that many are stupid enough to do the things you mentioned, although it ultimately depends on who is online. If I was (which was most of the time back in those days) it would have held, or if someone similar minded to me was. Also, Forlond's spaces are generally smaller so less of them could spawn in a particular space (defeat in detail)
One of the advantages of Ilthilien is its ability to produce more stuff. Believe me, we would not have run out of armor and food before you guys did. There is a reason we could afford to build more settlements than you guys.
BTW even if Forlond had 'fallen' we had even more settlements where we could retreat to. We would simply retake it a few days later.
The underground places would have been the first to be overrun in lots of cases. We had demon portals in our mine and below our underground prison. Demons don't use logic btw. It's not just orcs! There's ghasts and weird mutant things me the occasional giant in the heart of your defences. Iron swords would break as would about 3 stone over the course of the battles. Also if you can reproduce new iron/leather armour for everyone in Forlond every day then you must have got very lucky with mining
