"Aye, aye!" The dwarven duos chanted as Thoruk hopped on and they departed the Lonely Mountain. Thoruk was treated to the carriage and found it very royal. Its design had an interior protected from the environment outside which contained a small bed fit for his size along with some sheets and two feathered pillows. It was quite expensive and a major change from everything he had become accustomed to over the past year flying around the world with Iver. It had been harsh on his hardy body yet he had endured. Maybe this change wasn't all that bad. Maybe he could rest a bit after all the shit he had been through...
The Dwarf succumbed to sleep. His thoughts wondered about his friends. Iver...who had disappeared...Arandil who he had left behind in that village of murderers; Marco who he had left with those stupid western men and Sigeric, Daugo and Ha'zi all of whom had elected to remain in Gondor; to Dimitri who was abducted by that edgy forest hunter and to Cardiloc who had disappeared in Ithilien; even Grimnir who he had last seen being tortured by someone atop the walls of Morgoth's fortress...who was that person...
What had become of them? Were they dead? Alive?
A pang of guilty grew in the Dwarf's heart. Was he abandoning them for some Valar's cause? Was his destiny...this providence that took him to find Eonwe in search of some mystical gem in the sky was it all in vain? Thoruk had seen the might of Tulkas defeated by Morgoth. He had witnessed Manwe's wroth on the island. What could he do against such entities? He was but an insect to them...like all his people...he had been created by one.
These thoughts came to occupy his mind for the journey which lasted less than a week.
"Vere ve are!" Thoruk heard Grimsby's voice from outside the cart.
"I tink vis is ze right place!" Grismbold reinforced it.

The Trickster, understanding Iver even through his bat-like screeches answered, "The Easternmost mountains of Middle-Earth. This was the location of many dwarven settlements which delved into the bowels of the earth and extracted materials that not even you could imagine. But those were better times. Now this mountain chain is empty except for one soul. My brother Aule. He is imprisoned within the tombs of his bearded creations. If we're going to put an end to this war we'll need as much help as we can get. Now I need both of you to start digging," Orome hopped off Iver and gesticulated to Dimitri and the Flying Giant. "He is directly beneath us. Locked beneath layer upon layer of solidified iron and magma."
------------------------------
The forest spirits tensed.
"Then we shall fulfill it," The first replied softly.
"Or die trying." They spoke in unison.

The wind was light on Arandil's face as he took his stand against them. Dina's face was a mix of disappointment and pity. She opened her lips, "Arandil-"
"No! I refuse to bow as well!" Equas marched over to Arandil. "Tytus is my chief. He is and always will be! This-this was not fair. We can't just kill everything because we're different! Can we?! Why is it always kill this an' kill that?! Why can-"
"Equas," It was Tytus' voice who interrupted the boy. He looked up and saw the Screaming Shifter stand beside Miriel then kneel at her feet. "This is the way it must be. I lost. It is custom. Do not be so stupid to forfeit your life. And neither should you," He glanced at Arandil.
Miriel smiled. "Thank you, Tytus." She gazed at Arandil. "If you cannot bring yourself to fight your people, I understand. I only ask that you stand aside as we reclaim our own family. I'm sure you understand."
Equas' features were a grimace as he took a step forward, then another and another until he was aligned with them all.

"Got it," Endo nodded. "We'll stay in the basement until you come back." Cardiloc noticed Berethor's wound healing back already, faster than most other wounds and with less steam involved.
----------------------
Shin found his way around to the front of the house. The door to the garden was left unattended.
----------------------
"Mmm," Keratos muttered in reply to Tamara's tale. He seemed too focused on the man the General was talking to...the one who had been at the incident.
"So you're denying any inclusion in this?" The General asked.
"He...I don't think it was him. The other one...the girl...she made me see things...hear things." Someone muttered.
"Yeah," Another agreed with Rambo.
"Why would he do anything to hinder us? This must be a scheme by our enemies." Ostopher agreed. Belzagar turned skeptically to look at the man with a raised eyebrow.
"He has been with us for quite sometime," Vardamir agreed.
It appeared the crowd had swayed to Sigeric's favour.
"Mhm," Belzagar murmured. "So you deny any involvement in this issue? Does anyone dispute this fact? Will anyone point the finger of blame upon Mister Redhaven?" Belzagar asked the crowd. His eyes fell upon Ha'zi and Daugo as if begging them for an answer since both had remained silent throughout this inquisition.

The night was dark in the forest. A pile of bloody remains lay outside a small cabin. Inside four had gathered around a smoldering hearth.
"More wood? It's so cold..." Aranel asked as she sat, hands around her knees, curled into a ball with a shroud covering her back and hair.
"No. This is enough. We don't want to attract any more attention to ourselves. Not until we're ready." Her master spoke. He had been the one she had first seen when she awoke.
"Hmm-okay." She mused. Time passed silently as they warmed up against it. She thought of what had happened so far. The gorge where she was born. Her master's tales. The elves. The folk in this house. Her mind wondered to the bloody remains that Norio had left outside the house.
She looked up and at the fellow. He was staring into the fire. His bloodshot eyes illuminated in its glow. He always wore a mask over his lower-face and never spoke. Not once had she heard his voice. Yet Beren-no-Master Beren always seemed to understand him.
Suddenly his eyes flicked and fell upon her. She quickly looked away. Her heart rate spiked. He scared her. But...he was not as bad as the other one...
She did not dare glance at him. He was further from the flame and her back was turned to him. Now...Norio was scary...but the other one...no...he made her blood curdle and chill. Unlike Norio, he spoke occasionally from now and then but his voice was quite ordinary...it was his...everything else. His movements were catlike, fast, incredibly fast. Agile too. He broke those people's necks before she even realized. The baby couldn't even scream before...
She stopped thinking about it. Norio had taken care of the aftermath. Beren had told her it was normal. Required in fact. She agreed with it. This was life. And only the strongest survived just as Master Beren said. They would purify this world. Make it strong. So that no one would ever have to die again.
