VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

Shin continues to fake his immobility, waiting for a good time to strike at these traitorous shifters. He scowled, as the thought of being in the reversed situation of that barbaric buffoon Cardiloc arose in his mind.

Sigeric replied to Ha'zi's mental communication. "I'll compensate you by keeping you alive. And don't call me a bitch, you bloody troglodyte." He listened as the others were questioned about Glorfindel's escape. Why did they need to lie about the Silmaril? Ha'zi would have to be as dull as Grimnir to not realize what it was. Besides, there were plenty of witnesses in Ithilien, and it would be relatively easy for the Gondorians to expose such a lie. It was too late now, Sigeric thought. If he were to speak up about it, Ha'zi's lie would be exposed. At the mention of Sigeric staying behind to defend the city, he saw an image in his mind. One that he had seen many times before. These were far from ideal circumstances. He wondered what Belzagar wanted him to do at the festival. Sigeric was beginning to form plans of his own, but they could not possibly be the same. Not if Belzagar was unaware of his abilities. And this diplomatic mission? It was doomed for failure, in its current state. Gondor's mixture of incompetence and malice had wounded the proto-giants too deeply. They were beyond the point of diplomacy, at least if the Black Rangers were involved. As unassumingly cunning as Daugo could be at times, Sigeric doubted that he alone could accomplish this. Sigeric watched Ostopher as he left with the other rangers. He had heard his thoughts, yet they were mostly insignificant. He could prove nothing. Nonetheless, Sigeric knew that he would have to watch this one carefully. And to think that he would be leading the mission... As the rangers dispersed, he would approach General Belzagar to speak to him individually. "General, I am afraid that your plan raises a few concerns. The proto-giants have already captured the Leviathan. If the mission were to fail and the Behemoth were to fall into their hands, I need not describe what might follow. I ask you to consider sending me instead." Sigeric knew that Belzagar would most likely refuse, but he had to ask nonetheless. Although he had much that he wished to accomplish in Minas Tirith, Sigeric had seen firsthand the Gondorians' failure to deal with the protos. He found himself unable to trust anyone else to achieve results. He felt that he had no choice but to involve himself.

Rambo found himself nodding with Sigeric, "I agree sir, we cannot risk losing our most valuable shifter. Meanwhile the Guardian here has seen far more combat than the Behemoth and can crystalise. He was also the most vocal to reconciling Gondor and the Protogiants." Rambo pointed out, his arms crossed.

"My words are honey, Sigeric," he said, staring at the Dalishman. "They shall come around. In me, anyhow, they'll have the added incentive of knowing that, if they opt for a bolder course of action, I can wipe them off the face of the Earth without a second thought. They cannot capture me. They would die. On the other hand, while you are vastly more capable than I am in a fight, you must admit that they would more easily overpower you than me, if things came to that. Wouldn't you agree?"

"They captured the Leviathan shifter, a giant with abilities similar to yours. I say you are too valuable to use, no offense Guardian." Rambo interjected, shaking his head.

"Well yes, but the Leviathan's inheritor has had much less training, if any at all. We don't even know that he is awake, or--" he gulped, "alive."

“It’s too risky, plus if the city is attacked... again, we will need someone of your skillset here.” Rambo replied, he hadn’t given any thought to the wellbeing of the shifter; poor bastard.

Sigeric shook his head, unconvinced. "If it were that easy to wipe them off the face of Arda, Marco could do it himself. He might have no training, but he at least knows how to transform. They took the risk of capturing him, so they must have the means to avoid such an attack."

"No. They took the risk because they were greedy, and desperate. Besides, we dunno that Marco knows how to transform. What we do know is that, for a sustained campaign (such as might result if they decided to attack us here), the Guardian is superior to the Behemoth. My abilities are more of a last resort to wipe the slate clean all around me; they are better suited for offence than defence." He turned to Rambo. "Would it really be wise to have me transform near the city? No. Would it really be wise to waste my capacity to annihilate my environs? No. Which is why I am not the one to stay behind and protect Minas Tirith."

“That is true, I was talking more about a direct assault on the city outside on the pelennor.” Rambo nodded. “But still, as I said, it is too risky, especially considering the amount of proto giants there would be there. They’ll be too much even for you,” Rambo remained resolute.

"Marco certainly knows how to transform. He has done so himself, and has seen us do so countless times. But enough of this argument. I wish to hear what the General has to say on the matter." Sigeric looked towards Belzagar, awaiting his response.

"I don't remember asking you a fucking thing," is what Daugo would have told Rambo if Sigeric hadn't interrupted. Instead, he bit his tongue and nodded expectantly towards Belzagar.

Alarm bells rang in his head at the mention of a mission to the Proto's hideout, but for now he kept his thoughts on that quiet. Instead, however, he barked a response back to Sigeric, "'Troglodyte'? You're the one that looks like a fu- erm... like a facking clown with that outfit!

"Besides, Daugo has a worse active vocabulary than I: Why pick on me?" Ha'zi whined. "And I'm still expecting compensation. Maybe some assistance in learning about you-know-who?" He briefly nodded towards the general at this telepathic suggestion.

Iver scooped up Telimekhtar as he was halfway down the abyssal cavern. Darkness lay below that not even Iver's bat-eyes could penetrate through. He felt vibrations though, something was moving the air down the gorge ahead of him. It felt like a howling gale yet he could hear nothing. Was he deaf?

The ringing in his ears was enough to answer.

Dimitri felt the rock quake as he clipped onto it from the ceiling. An earthquake? No...something was coming. Battle was upon them.

"BOTH OF YOU IDIOTS, BREAK THE CHAINS NOW. IT'S COMING!" The Trickster's voice sprung into the Karoltai's minds. Both of them could see that Orome was kneeling by the form of Aule using something to slash at the last of three chains that held him. One was attached to the roof, holding his left arm, the other dragged his right leg down and the last was wrapped around his midsection. It was this one that Orome was attempting to cut through.

"HURRY!!" He screamed. There was panic like never before in his voice.

-----------------------

As Thoruk touched the earth he felt it shift slightly beneath his fingertips. It settled. Once he removed his hand he saw an arrow pointing to the south.

"Vats vrong?" Grimsbold asked.

----------------------

"Alright," Berethor said after a steely wait and marched over to Shin. He placed a hand on the Gondorian's shoulder and began to lift him up when Ela screamed.

"I don't wanna go!" She began to struggle in Endo's arms meanwhile the other Endo began to panic whilst looking with fervent eyes at Berethor, Shin, Cardiloc and his older self. "What the actual fuck is going on?!" He started to scream as well resulting in Ela screaming more. Suddenly, a maid appeared and joined the chorus of yellers as she noticed the body of a Gondorian on the floor, a hairy barbarian, two men who looked the same, one of them grabbing a struggling child; and of course, Berethor with blood staining nearly half his clothing.

The entire scenario was descending into madness. A perfect recipe for Shin to strike back.

--------------------

Belzagar looked at the three Karoltai and Rambo.

"The Guardian stays. The Behemoth goes." Then he turned to Vardamir who sat behind him at the staging point. "Take your squadron and locate the Eldrith premise. Search it from head to toe. I want that Hybrid and I want him now. Alive. Do not fail me as the Eleventh did."

"Sir." Vardamir stood and whistled at his men, including Rambo, "Let's move."

Once they had cleared out the few remaining inside were citadel guards, the General, Ostopher and the Karoltai.

"Lieutenant Burgins, I am entrusting this mission to you under the supervision of Major Ostopher. See to it that these proto-giants are approached in a friendly manner and that all goes well. Request the return of the Leviathan. Should they refuse, offer them the girl who apparently holds the Serpent power. She is quite clearly some peasant and just so happened to be in the way. If they still refuse, attempt to negotiate, however, if there is no room for diplomacy then force their hand. Use necessary force to crush any aggression and establish ourselves over them. This is some ruddy band of misguided fools. Show them that they cannot hope to stand against the might of the West. You may leave. The Eleventh and Tenth Squadrons set out on the morrow so as to catch up to our foes. Should you have any questions address them to the Major. He shall be in command of this excursion alongside you."

Then the General turned to Sigeric and Ha'zi, the former of which was clearly distrusted by the man and the latter who had remained silent through most of the affair was very disliked whether this was due to the color of his skin or his actions, the General did not hold the Haradrim in high esteems.

"The King shall be returning shortly. Once he is here I expect both of you to be on your best behaviors. I am not your mother. I do not see the need to repeat this. I expect no issue when welcoming him and the delegation of guests that are likely to be arriving. This festival is coming within the next five months. It occurs every year in light of the defeat of the dark lord, yet this specific one is special. The King intends to use it to reveal the enemy we face in Mordor and showcase the power of the Giants. The Guardian and Warrior Giants are necessary to these machinations. As such, you will be heavily involved. Especially you, Sigeric. For some reason or another, the King has personally bid your presence there."

"Dos kalag am Tolki!" Dimitri cried out, invoking the strength of Illuvatar's Holy Champion. He attacked the chain heading towards the roof, but didn't climb up, rather attacking a portion closer to the ground.

"Sir," he retorted curtly, triumphant but soured by the fact that he would be under Ostopher, whom he disliked. He turned to leave, telling Sigeric as he went: "I'll be outside," with a meaningful glance that added an implied "waiting to have a much-needed talk."

"Nothing so far lad." he'd say, slowly going south. Was there something going on or were his powers failing him to seek out people in this area, using the ground. Anyway, it was a strange feeling to use the earth, maybe the other's doubted him to be alright after he randomly touched the ground and now goes into a random direction aswell. "Stay here, I'll have to check something real quick. If I'm not back in an hour, return to the north and tell the king that this area isn't save anymore and he should set more guards up." he'd say to them while moving. Then stopping, turning his head around, looking towards them. "Understood lads?" he'd ask them in a grim tone, ready to turn around and head further south after their answer.

--------------
Tamara would remain silent for now, listening to what was going on and keeping an eye on the guards. Hopefully they wouldn't try and imprison her. Atleast Keratos promised her that he would protect her, so she felt a bit safer than she normaly would between so many guards. It was quite strange to her to not run away in a situation like this. Yet she had to endure it, her stomach grumbling around, a horde off unfriendly guards and lot's off more bad stuff ahead of her. "I wonder if it has leafs.." she would think, clearly having a picture of the white tree in her head. She felt like a little princess for once. She was allowed to travel up this far and finally even take a look at this tree. Would it be as gorgeous as the old lady told her? She was happy anyways and well, to this point she wasn't even a prisoner,or atleast she didn't feel like one. This day could realy turn from bad into awesome.

Iver did not have a problem with the dark, he learned to embrace it thanks to Shiva. "IDIOTS" Iver heard and snapped back to reality and flew up, holding Lil Teli with his leg. As soon as he would get there he would tempt to freeze the chain that connected the Valar's leg to the cave.

Cardiloc breathed out, he had to make a decision. He had no chance of reaching Berethor and the Gondorians were likely closing in. He grabbed ahold of younger Endo and marched over to his sister. He then turned to Berethor. "I'll come back for you, but, if I don't... Sigeric, the guardian. He needs to know," He nodded, before taking hold of Endo's arm and teleporting away to the forest clearing Marco had been kidnapped from.

SNAP.

The chain holding Aule's left hand broke and he fell. The Trickster continued to cut through his own portion whilst the bat coated the lower chain with frost and it shattered. CRACK.

Iver and Dimitri felt the vibrational shaking around them and knew something was coming. A gust of wind blasted Dimitri as he clung to the roof of the cavern just as Orome sliced through the last chink.

"LET'S GO!" The Trickster held onto the unconscious form of Aule which was bigger than him and carried him over to Iver, tossing him to the ground near Iver's second empty claw. The Trickster hopped on expecting the Flyer to grab ahold of the other Ainu alongside the Son of Tulkas. "NOW!"

Iver's eyes caught something through the shadows at the far reaches of the cavern. Something that moved like a wall of stone towards them. It was gargantuan in size just in the fact that it filled the cavern which was enormous beyond his comprehension.

--------------

"Aye!" They replied in unison.

Thoruk found the passage south different than before. Was he lost? Had they taken a wrong turn? The forest was quite confusing yet he stuck to the riverside. As he traversed the terrain he noticed the burnt section of the forest directly ahead of him. Nearby he heard something rustle in the forest before a feminine voice rose to greet him.

"Hello, Thoruk," A hooded figure stepped forth from behind a tree. Her face was matched by a number of scars and he saw into her clear jade eyes and instantly remembered her. Though, there were some clear differences such as wrinkles and the scar tissue. Her voice was also drier and less sweet and her hair seemed a faded shade of red.

"It's good to see you." Aranel smiled under the hood.

--------------

"Car-"

Whoooosh.

Cardiloc fell to his knees in the crater of the Leviathan deep in the Anorien forest. Next to him was younger Endo, who proceeded to vomit onto the earth. On his right was the older Endo who did the same. And Ela...

Was nowhere to be seen.

-----------

"Card!" Berethor yelled at the empty space where his ally had been. He had deserted him. But left him a task. Sigeric. He had to find Sigeric.

"Aiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeee!!!!" Ela screamed as she ran past the large man and into the maid's arms. What?

She had leaped out of Endo's grasp at the last moment. Damn it. Now he had to watch over her...and the Gondorian...fucking Gondorians. What was wrong with these people?

Shin saw the Armoured Shifter watching the screaming gondorian ladies, ignoring him. Somehow the other three had vanished from sight. How this was possible to him he did not know. It was incomprehensible. Yet his foe stood before him. Prey that had fallen for the bait.

-------

Keratos and the others passed the corner and Tamara caught sight of the fountain and the tree. The sun shone down across her face and her eyes brightened upon the white tree and its blooming fair leaves. It had many, oh so many leaves. It looked like a statue made out of snow flakes. So...beautiful.
