VENTURES INTO THE REMOTE (RP)

"Listen, we stick together. He couldn't have gone that far, let's head to the last known location of his, or is it covered in mud and water?"

"Well shit, if you're asking whether we'd like to be killed so that someone more experienced could take over, that would be a definite no. But I have no problem with someone taking up the mantle, so to speak, if I were to die in battle, though I wouldn't wish this to befall any poor soul. It really is a curse," he blurted out.

"Aye. Mud n water? Well I'm not realy sure but i don't think he was stupid enaugh to ran through all of these flames, or do you think he was?" Thoruk would ask, not a fan of the idea to run blindly into a forest where he was able to get away from death just barely before as it seemed.

This time, Ha'zi acknowledged Daugo and nodded after he spoke, then turned to the Captain. "Could you elaborate on the meaning of that?"
----------
Sigeric raised an eyebrow. "Well, I'd have some if the hobbit's interpretation was true. Do explain."

"True.. it's Iver..." Thoruk would mumble, looking at the ground. "Maybe there are footsteps in the mud or even on the normal earth? Anyways, you're right, let's search for a hint or something, can't be that hard." he thinks as he starts searching for footsteps. It would be easy, or wouldn't it?

"That's it." Dimitri grumbled, dusting himself off. With one swift move, he tosses his armor to the side and begins to become the Dwarf giant. In the distance, Dimitri heard it, the bagpipes of Enedwaith blaring that famous song, Lond Daer the Brave. Memories of massive men painted in blue, wielding massive spears in the highlands, came back to him.

"One of those pointy-eared ones with the hair whiter than ice. Gayfinder or something like that?" Miriel said, "And when I say it's being handled, I mean it's being handled. The Slayer and his cronies will be dealt with."

Thoruk and Arandil spent the next hour searching and searching before they finally found something. It was a shoe. Iver's shoe. It lay at the base of the valley and up the hill through the burnt forests was a massive dredged scorch mark as if to indicate something crashed through it. It went up and beyond the hill.

What had happened to Iver?

"We're too invested in you as it is to make that sacrifice," Vardamir bluntly told Daugo. "And yes. It's in regard to the fact that should you fall in battle, it would be in our interests for a fellow compatriot to inherit your Giant. Do you have any specific people in mind in this regard? Anyone you personally choose? Preferably one of the rangers but not exclusively." He asked the trio.

BOOOOOOOM.

The Son of Tulkas soared through the air, unable to rush out of the blast wave as the Dwarf Giant rose up.

Dimitri looked down on Telimekhtar and saw him rise up and reach for his blades.

Iver closed his eyes and took a deep breath "And what do you mean by that?" Iver asked, afraid of the answer she might give him.

Ha'zi nodded gravely. This made sense for them to think long term about the next inheritance. It was a bit disturbing, to honest, for this to be told right in front of them, and asking them to choose their own person for it to be passed onto. But it would come eventually, knowing how much these Rangers value their duty so seriously.

The only thing that truly upset Ha'zi was choosing who would be granted his power. Obviously, he should choose the Captain, or Arcturus, or perhaps even Helvion. Those would be the ideal options. Yet, it was far more complicated than that. Sure, it could be viewed as an extraordinary gift by those peering from the outside in. Weather control, indestructible claws and jaw, forging of gigantic items, and much more would be seen as amazing. Who wouldn't
to be this strong, this incredible? But, as Daugo said, it was a curse. Not only would they have those specific benefits, they would practically be immortal for as long as Morgoth lived, become a huge target for all sorts of evil, and they'd have to cope with the mind space and memories of not one but two other shifters at once.

It was a monumental decision, one that, frankly, Ha'zi didn't wish, at the moment to make. He'd rather have himself bear this burden for as long as he could. Though, the Haradrim knew he had to decide. Soon. But, for now, he just shook his head. "Not exactly, Captain. I'd need more time to think of it, if that is acceptable with you."

"Well," Miriel stood and took the yawning baby back to its crib, placing it down next to another small bundle of cloth and returning to her seat.

"Tytus has it under control."

"Understandable." The Captain stated.

"Another issue is the inheritance of other Giants. As far as I'm concerned, you three are the only ones ready, willing and able to defend Middle-Earth. I remember the Dwarf and the Dalishman deciding to run away from the threat of Morgoth. I also know that there are two or three more of these Karoltai out there somewhere in the world doing who knows what. On top of this, there are an unknown number of other Giant Shifters like those described   from the expedition into Mordor. Thus, there are high chances that should the possession of a giant shifter come to you, you must make the decision to have one of ours inherit it." Vardamir informed them. "For the sake of the Free Peoples, of course." He added.

No mention was given of Marco. It had been nearly a year since they saw him and for all they knew he might as well still be in a coma.

As Cardiloc was about to blink, he felt Aranel's hands slip from his grasp and the next thing he knew they were gone.

A breeze hit Cardiloc smoothly and ruffled his gnarly hair and his eyes opened to a sunny dawn on the golden fields. A massive city overlooked him to the west and dozens of smaller settlements cluttered his path. He was in some sort of farm and he heard the sound of-

""URGHHHKJJJJHHHHHH!!!!!" Endo puked out half-digested badger onto a crop of watermelons.

"Huh," Berethor swayed slightly and felt nauseous.

Suddenly a hearty feminine voice interrupted their delightful landing, "Oi, git the fack off of me lan'!" An old woman with a cranked back and rather decent clothing waddled towards them with a rake.

“Wha-“ Card murmured as Aranel released her hand. He got up slowly, looking at the others. Wait, what had happened... Aranel, what the fuck had she done??? “Aranel... she-“ He began to the others before the old lady interrupted him. “Oh sorry ma’am my friends here just had a little too much to drink.” He explained quickly. “I was just looking for them.” He added, before he roughly pulled up Endo. “Let’s get out of here.” He told the pair.

"The guy seems to have some brain in his skull, lets just hope that he understand what he is dealing with, i mean now Glorfindel, the slayer as you call him, and the other giants are working for the king of Gondor" He said before he remembered Thoruk was with him. "Well im not sure about Cardilac, he disappeared a while back and we never saw him again. Same goes with Dim and Thoruk is here with me. Although i am not sure if Marco serve the king or.... Hell, i dont even know if he woke up" he added.

"Guess that's atleast something, I could even smell that from a mile away, sadly the fire made my senses a bit crazy. But well, well, let's get going, ladies first again lad" Thoruk would say, waiting for Arandil to follow the little path of destruction they've found.

"Gloryfinger? Is that the Slayer's name?" Miriel asked.

"And I don't care whoever took them. If they believe that they can get away with such things, then they clearly need to learn a lesson."

"...yeah...sorry," Endo rose and followed Cardiloc. Berethor merely glanced at the old woman and gave her a friendly smile. She spat on the dirty watermelon in response.

I've smiled as she called the elf glory fingers and almost bursted out laughing when she talked about teaching Gondor a lesson, what a hypocrite.
"Eh, you guys do whatever you want. Anyways, let's say a friend of mine got the giant powers of one of your friends and entered a comma. How do I wake him up?" He asked.

“Let’s head to the city then.” He told the others, making his way to the first gate. While on the way he explained that Aranel had let go of his hand, which meant Laurel and her were back at his families homestead. Berethor would have to do the talking about what had happened in his timeline.

The endless drone of the bagpipes ringing in his ears, Dimitri shouted in his booming voice, "Get back 'ere, laddie boy!" as he rushed after Teli and tried to punch him right in the chest with a single, swift stroke of his big, hardened fist.

He tilted his head just a smidgen then stared intently at their Captain. "Well, I'm not personally sure all that you've said about the other Giants is entirely correct, but it mostly seems to be true. Iver and Thoruk have just straight up left, Cardiloc and Dimitri are still missing, it's a real mess for our group. And I take it there's still no word on those Mordor Giants, eh? As for the rest, again, I mean no offense but since this is really a monumental thing, it will take quite some time for me to place who out of you rangers should inherit my abilities. Though, it is certain that you're high up there, Varadimir." The Haradrim smiled, meaning what his at the end about the Captain fully.
